This! Live in the PNW and was outside with dogs yesterday when one of those massive choppers flew over heading south, the kind that carry tanks and all in them. It was huge and it was loud could hear both sets of blades swooshing. It was cloudy though so only could get glimpses of it as it went over.
Don't know one from the other tbh, just was real big one with two sets of large blades front and back and was peekaboo through the clouds. I saw one last year and it had a large, thick projectile (metal pole or something) as a payload, the tip of whatever it was stuck out Infront and in back of the chopper by a good chunk of feet like nearly half the length of the chopper itself more, was wondering how it landed carrying something like that. lol. One lil bob forward or back would have the payload hit the pavement. Looked real awkward.
My asleep wife made mention of two fighter jets passing overhead here in the Houston area that didn’t show up on FlightAware. I’m not sure she was aware of FlightAware, but she was out with co-workers for dinner. I just played it off because honestly most of this stuff has been BULLSHIT over the years, other than Air Force One going by Q0 and some other Q-related call signs.
Still, she is noticing things which is good I hope.
There's an army national guard helicopter unit based south of I-10 near Hwy 6, just a bit south of the dam near George Bush park. There has been more activity than usual including heavy lifters but I have no idea what they're up to. They're usually headed west. I did hear what I thought was a fast mover yesterday in the evening, but I just shrugged it off.
There has been a shit ton of development in my area. I figure this has more to do with expanding Xfinity coverage than anything. I’m in the northwest quadrant of the Katy area. North of I-10 and west of the Grand Parkway.
Gotcha. We really are neighbors ;)
We had some issues due to fast growth recently as well. Schools are popping up all over the place. I've been here since 75 and this town is almost unrecognizable now. Back then, this time of year, we would start getting so many geese that the fields would look like dirty snow where your house is now. Literally thousands of them. These days it's rare to see any at all. It's still a great place to live though.
We've been in Katy since 2014. I've been in the Houston area almost my entire life.
I did see a group of geese for the first time this year. We used to have a lot more wildlife, but those days are gone since all of the fields surrounding us have been bought up and built on.
At least I have acreage and my neighbors have even more acreage to keep the development mostly out of sight from my house.
ATF and a couple other agencies. Have been making noise about Cartel Straw Purchases in Texas going up significantly and being a sign they’re going to make a big move.
If it ends up cartel vs. US military, I feel sorry for the cartel.
If it ends up cartel vs. US militia... well let's say the last time the militia moved into Mexico it didn't end well for Mexico. (See: Mexican-American War.)
Bubba and friends would love to do it stone-cold sober.
I think the Geneva convention was started when Americans began joining European wars. I vaguely recall the Germans complaining about American shotguns, wanting them banned.
Anglo-Saxons (the seed of American stock) are a walking nightmare. Look through the history books, and you'll see Anglo-Saxons really, really don't care a LOT about their enemies, so much so that we don't mind a good genocide or two before tea.
Strictly speaking. There were quite a few formal attempts to “Regulate Warfare” before Geneva. None of them really stuck all that well. Ironically the informal Codes of Honor, Chivalry, and behavior that have sprung up and faded over the years. Seem to have been the more effective methods we’ve had in restraining baser instincts in war.
The Geneva Suggestion has only stuck around as long as it has because we’re “Cultured” now. Or at least publicly. Privately. No one has seen the purpose or reason to drop the pretense of following it. That and it makes a Convenient talking point to bludgeon both domestic and geopolitical rivals.
Well Texas (the Texas Rangers) did just assault an island in the Rio Grande that neither the US or Mexico knew if they owned or not. Texas did an official survey, turns out is US. Mexico cleared their area facing the island for us, and we took the island and started cutting down all the brush and trees. Seems the cartels have been using it to go back and forth with drugs and people and neither side would chase them believing it could lead to an international incident. Now we know we own it, and will clean it up so the cartels can't shoot at our police and ranchers from there while hidden in the trees.
Maybe the helicopters are Guard, and are hurrying there expecting a cartel(s) war with the Rangers and Guard (who are there clearing the trees). The island is 100+ acres and was controlled by 2 warring cartels until this action.
I saw two chinooks fly over earlier today a handful of minutes apart that came from DFW area, landed at David Wayne hooks memorial, very rare to see two I see one every now and again, fellow planefag o7
NOTICE THE DIRECTION...."SOUTH"...These helos are going to be used for tracking and information gathering..."BORDER CROSSERS" ---
WOWZA!!!!!! Wonder if my Ol' Unit is part of that detail flying south...????

Chinook has two sets of rotor blades. Passengers.

I lost Xfinity about 10 minutes ago. I’m using Verizon via cell phone to evaluate the situation. May be nothing.
Edit: Xfinity confirms there is an outage. Still, may be nothing. I’m in Katy, TX.
I'm in Katy too and I use Xfinity. Must be just your neighborhood. There's no military squawking in the skies at the moment fren.

No one does Unhealthcare like the U.S Military.
And given enough Booze and a Reason. Bubba and Friends will probably do, and or make shit that’ll earn its own page on the Geneva Suggestion.

C-47 Chinook
CH-54 Tarhe otherwise known as skycrane
if they were using 47s to transport tanks. means they were in a hurry- i would think-----edit. im an idiot. meant 54s=ch-54

I tried to post about how Texans need to be vigilant about our sovereignty, but a mod removed it.
Texas is a lynchpin in the global fight for totalitarianism.
