My wife has been telling me that I should get a hearing aid..... After those many years on an aircraft carrier, I lost some of my hearing. I knew it, but have always lived with it. It only gets worse when you get older though. I saw a hearing aid store not far from my home and I actually thought about it, but now with the news of this Maine shooter, I'm back to square one. I just tell people its ear wax buildup as an excuse. It's kind of sad that its come to this and not even trusting the technology for hearing better.
There is a FREE app available, that I highly recommend. Mimi hearing test. It asks some basic questions (age, sex, etc) then asks what kind of hearing set you have (Apple AirPods, AirPods Pro, etc) - has you go into a quiet room, and does a 5 minute set of warble tones at various levels in both ears and has you touch your phone when you hear the notes.
It then plots a graph, for you. It's free, it's so you can have more than a photo in time, of what your hearing is doing. Like anything else, we all have good days, and bad days.
There is a correlation with hearing loss, and dementia. When you stop hearing, you naturally stop engaging, your social interactions slow; and nothing good happens. I had moderate tinnitus. I'm 62, my mother has 2 Cochlear implants, as she was basically deaf in both ears at 75. So, I have a history of loud rock and roll, shooting plus genetics. I love music, and the high end is gone.
I would STRONGLY suggest you get the best set of hearing aides you can afford. The good ones are neurnet based, they talk to each other and your phone, they have 2 settings. One setting is Normal, the other has Tinnitus training, where it synthesizes the sound you hear in your ears (the tinnitus) and this sound calms the nerves that are firing (the hairs are gone, the nerves are alive and well, and they are sensitive, listening to the hair that is gone). The tinnitus setting will diminish the level of riding in your head, the process takes about a month, and mine dropped an apparent 25%, and 6 months in it's down almost 75% - the rest is very tolerable. My hearing will never be what it was, unless they have some advances in stem cell therapy (which are showing great promise), but this is something I would not play with.
It's your life. Dementia is not something I would take lightly.
Thank you.....Good info. I'll look into it. Tinnitus is IMHO the bigger issue. Dementia is the farthest of any concern. I'm somewhat older than you.....I might add that dementia is preventable and not genetic in the sense that the genes carry it. It is a result of a combination of environmental factors like a poor and toxic diet and pharmaceutical adverse reactions to the toxins there. I once read Wisconsin had some of the highest dementia rates..... It's interesting that aluminum is linked to dementia.... And back in the 70s and 80s all the beer companies were using aluminum cans.... Wisconsin loves there beer.... Today there is a near complete return to aluminum cans.... Coincidence? Each individual varies to the effects of accumulating toxins. The health effect is shown to be a Bell curve with some people succumbing to the effects of toxins more readily than others. It's more akin to the canary in the coal mine analogy..... My dad is as sharp as a tack and is 96 years old. Concerning my "loss" of hearing, I do have a very effective propagandist in the house, my wife claims I only hear what I want to hear.🤫🤫😉😁😁.
We are both on regular doses of Ivermectin. Parasites are truly underrated as a source for a lot of issues; and Ivermectin has helped us avoid many colds; but hearing loss can be associated with a great many other things. Firearms, loud machines, music, genetics, strokes, and other things
But loss of hearing means less interactions with others. You interact less, and become isolated. Silence becomes your world and mental stimulation ceases. Hearing aides break the chain of events. They may not keep you alive longer; but the quality of life is improved
We’ll aware. I had issues and I thought I would be the next Beethoven. It was scary when it started and I figured it was permanent. I had some infection behind the ear drum it seems. Related to mold exposure and candida/ parasites. I do audio and I’m aware of the process for hearing loss, I wear WESTON noise reduction plugs daily.
I’m just putting information out there for other passer-bys. Also lions mane mushrooms, I’ve heard folks helped to heal neurons and nerves with lions mane and psylocibin
Understand. When you have the audio bug, listening to great recordings and appreciating the genius of music is something you never can get enough of.
I used to be able to hear the subtle differences between woods in violins and classical guitars. Sadly that’s gone now. I hear the scales, but they all sound the same now. Above 8kHz is gone. The tinnitus is constan, and the hearing aides have helped reduce its apparent level, but even with foam plugs it’s a constant companion. It doesn’t mask voices like it used to. So I will call that a win
Thank you. I had a very similar motivation. My wife often got quite upset and felt I was purposely ignoring her. So we both went to an ENT. Her hearing is better than average, I have slight to moderate loss in both. Mimi confirmed everything over months
I opted for the top end Opticon, insurance paid the first $2,500 and I paid ~$2,750. Why? My belief is sound is important as sight. High end are Bluetooth so phone calls go right to the hearing aides. Convenient. But most hearing aids have a bunch of modes. These have 2. So in the front seat of a car, they adjust so I can hear everything in front or behind, crowded restaurants, auto adjust. Concerts, windy days on the lake, they automatically adjust and it’s like taking the clock back 40 years. They “learn” how your ear canal and ear drums respond and adjust. Plus, as time goes by, your hearing likely will get worse. Because you started higher end, they have more adjustments to work with. You benefit longer
I work R&D in space propulsion. So I am around rockets and they are very loud. Keeping my mind sharp is a key part of my job. These help. Best of luck and God bless

My friend who's really into musical theater can sing a note so high that you can barely even hear it. But the sound waves show up on recordings. It's pretty cool.
Regardless of whether it is the voice of Satan, a False angel, or the CIA/NSA, you still have a choice on whether to act on what the voice is saying. You are always responsible for your actions and choices, unless you are physically forced against your will. Even then, you have choices you can make.
Honestly I imagine it would be very concerning and mentally breaking if your inner voice was subverted and replaced with something else.
We have a reliance on our inner voice, as part of our personal identity. To have that intruded upon must actually be more awful than a lot of people may expect.
I recall hearing about this technology 50 years ago. Two ultrasonic speakers each producing a very directional beam, then at the point where they cross (and only there) it generates an interference pattern of audible sound.
There was no overt nefarious intent of MK controlling people. The declared use was in places such as museums - you could stop to look at an exhibit and hear a soundtrack giving you info about it. But the people at the next exhibit even if quite close by would not be disturbed by hearing yours.
Then again I don't recall ever hearing this actually in use in a museum anywhere so yes maybe the sekrit squirrels did steal the tech for their own use and ban it everywhere else.
If I had that technology I’d use it to make Libs crap on themselves in public as I get it on video. I’d destroy the left by making them all crap themselves in public. Oh it would be glorious.
Why does the prof claim that a 65 kHz radio transmission has a wavelength of less than an inch? The 65 kHz frequency wavelength is over 4,612 meters or about 2.8 miles. Do they not teach students to question statements that are obviously in error? Maybe his demo worked, but his introductory speech of linking how it works to a very short wavelength lacks credibility. It would have been interesting if he would have stated the signal strength being used. High power AM radio waves have been heard though fence wire and building I-Beams. I would not want to be that close to the transmitter/antenna though.
But keep using Amazon echo, Google whatever's and smart speakers without a ln analog on-off switch... What do you think they end up putting up all of these smart speakers everywhere?

Deworm.
Heavy metal detox. The aluminum will go along with dementia

Good info, thanks for sharing this.

They target mentally ill unfortunately
This is fascinating.
Lot of discussion going on about this. I think I ran across a great video.

Want to build one now

Thanks, yes acoustic versus magnetic. I did not hear him say this.
