Yes an excellent short read. At one point I purchased 5 copies and gave them out to all the retired military in my church. BTW I'm retired military. In addition, when my 3 sons were younger I advised them to do anything/everything they could to get out of the draft if one were to be reinstated.
Credit to this guy for at least being human and admitting something was funny.
Let's be real; most military are PATRIOTS.

As a patriot and veteran myself, I couldn't righteously sell getting into the military today. Not with our current Commander-In-Chief and current military/political/geopolitical climate.

What did he say? Haven't seen the show in so long, ever since I learned the theme song had lyrics encouraging the listener to kill himself.
Well the overall theme of his character was that the wars were all lies and that every day untold numbers of innocent lives were being ended for nothing, while generals and other misc leaders sucked up glory from the suffering of others. They had it pegged in the 70s.
Also, the theme song, "Suicide Is Painless", was a rip on a character in the original. A dentist whose nickname was Painless. He wanted to kill himself over (I think, don't quote me) the infidelity of a woman. Because of that, Hawkeye etc threw the guy a fake funeral to make him feel better about his life. It's in the movie. Easier just to watch it.
