What is this request by Trump anyways? For him to be immune? Doesn't that mean all past president's would be immune as well?

My take: Trump gets to present evidence of the DS insurrection in the form of election fraud and consequently Trump was doing his duty of trying to protect the Republic.

It's a good question. If the SC overturns this, then the precedent goes away. Maybe Trump's lawyers won't appeal it but rather file an appeal based on Jack Smith being improperly appointed. The precedent remains, the case goes away. I can't see the Supreme Court leaving this in place though.

and now the new border wall bill will make the DC Court the ONLY Court that can make ANY ruling on the issue. It MAY, May be legal but it sure as hell violates the spirit of the constitution.
From what I was reading earlier, that bill is in need of life support.

Trump argues, "I have Presidential immunity". In actuality he wants the SC to remove it, it sets precedent.
Trump protected his tax returns, refused to release them. They took it to the SC and they ruled Trump had to release his tax records. When the deepstate got his tax records, they found nothing. Now when he returns to office, all tax records can be examined.
Precedent was set.
Rinse and repeat.
Trump is removing Presidential immunity via the SC so Obama, Bush and Clinton have zero protection in the near future.
