Youre gonna have to explain the air in gas line thing. Im a mechanic. The only thing air in a gas line is gonna do is reduce power of the engine if it doesnt shut it off due to lack of fuel first.
Very correct! A hacked car can take over certain functions that are computerized like acceleration and braking and steering There have been videos showing what can be done to cars that have been hacked. Mr. Hastings may have been terrified when his engine probably red lined and the steering was disabled. How many times has this happened to notables?? Probably be something like the plane thing 7 of 10.
The steering rack is electric on those. Not only could it have been disabled, it could be remotely steered. Most cars 2010ish onward have them. They suck and have no feel.
I am SO glad I was able to pick up a low mileage (65,550 miles) 2000 Nissan Maxima in Jan 2018 for cash even though I have put money into it for what would have been normal maintenance, I am happy it doesn't have connections to the internet etc.
Come on. Unless the person trying to hack my car is driving right next to me, unlikely. Yeah, some cars might have connections to internet or some satellite communications, like on-star, but you usually have to pay for that as it's costing the service provider money.
Didn't happen. That's an exaggeration by almost 10 times. If the truth is on your side no need to exaggerate.
It was more like 60 yards according to witnesses.
60 yards =0.0341 mile
The crash site was just south of the Melrose intersection on on Highland Avenue. The engine was found further down the same block from the crash. Well before the next intersection.
The distance between intersections is 0.1 mi. So it was well short of that and thus cannot be 0.25 miles.
Right before his crash his friends and family said he was acting erratically and we're looking to do a drug intervention. The coroner found traces of meth in his system.
If the argument is the crash couldn't have sent the engine that far, what is the alternative? A bomb? A bomb that powerful would leave a ton of evidence on the car.
I think it’s intentional. It allows the meme to further the echo chamber of confirmation bias of those that already know but it allows a normie that small “falsehood” that allows them to reject the entire premise.
They had time to compose good copy, but there seems to be a tendency to self sabotage. people here on GAW understand responses may contain errors, but, the headings should be correct. I review as much as possible what I type, but, in the heat of the moment my fingers race ahead of my mind.
😊
I don't buy such errors. This is de facto advertising copy, and you simply don't release such stuff without a proofing. In my book, the intent is to stir up the "conspiracy theorist" community, while also laughing at them in their face. For one thing, it distracts from the fact that we have no idea who in Hell actually wrote that copy. It sure wasn't Michael Hastings, unless his ouija board is hooked up to a computer.
I think it's a valid concern - what if someone were to deliberately take decent memes and sabotage them by undermining the appearance of the literacy of those who create them?
Your truck is still connected even though you opted out of the services. The radio can be turned on/off remotely for service (Sirius), remote engine start, keyless entry, garage door opener, even your tire pressure monitor system has a receiver in the truck. I am sure there are more. These signals all go through computer modules and the TIPM.
Where do I start? You can't drive a car into a tree by hacking the TPMS or key fob receivers, nor the garage door opener sender.
The connected service I do not have basically puts the vehicle on the internet over a cellular network that can not be turned off.
A direct connection to the vehicle computers can be established remotely. There is a firewall between the cellular receiver and the rest of the nodes, but you know the CIA has a backdoor.
My neighbor does something computer or software related for a living, I don’t really know what specifically. He’s a car guy and stopped by open garage recently to drool over my newest motorcycle and we got to talking about cars. He said he was (currently, or in the past, I can’t remember) working on the development of remotely controlling cars, and he said how cool the testing was where they were able to override the functions of the car, so they had control over it.

If a car isn't 20 years or older it can go fuck itself.

Tiger Woods enters the chat 🏌️♂️.........⛳
Like the actress Ann Heche?
How can you hack into these systems? I doubt they are listening for remote connections and how would you remotely connect to them anyway?
The GPS and internet connections...Like the dominion machines that have wide open connections to the internet..
My car doesn't have an internet connection.
Watch Here
GSM , Most contemporary EMS units have a sim card. and of course WiFi and/or Bluetooth for local services.
Remote key fobs, proximity sensors, a lot of wireless going on in vehicles that can be hacked.

reminds me of kemp's daughter's boyfriend-
https://www.georgiarecord.com/all-posts/2020/12/05/bizarre-explosion-crash-in-georgia-kills-harrison-deal/
seem to recall the block flew a ways in that one too.
This is why I don't drive anything newer than 96.
Quarter mile?

Why is it that so many of the memes posted here contain typo's?
Flat fingers.
where is the typo?
(did not make meme, busy with a Diddy dig atm)
The word 'revealed' is badly misspelled
I think it’s intentional. It allows the meme to further the echo chamber of confirmation bias of those that already know but it allows a normie that small “falsehood” that allows them to reject the entire premise.
ah, kek, what a tard whoever made this meme

Unless spelling moar or habbening. Kek
A form of slang here is moar acceptable than most 😁

I wonder why people derail posts by complaining about speeeling.
I think it's a valid concern - what if someone were to deliberately take decent memes and sabotage them by undermining the appearance of the literacy of those who create them?
I read fast so I never notice them. 95 % of the people are probably the same. I would hope the other 5 % can overlook it.
If not they are the 5%.
The basic fact is that people that are good at memes, are not good at spelling and Grammer. Just one of the little irony of life.
typos
I used the apostrophe in place of the missing parts of "typographic errors" ;)
That must be why all the cars have a bunch of computer crap in them nowadays. So they can hack our cars.
You can pull the fuse to disable the satellite communications.
Look for that little "shark fin" of an antenna-that is where the GPS and the internet connections come in.
Ahh, that shark fin is how my car got the name Bruce🐸
I received a $195 discount for buying a new '22 Ram 2500 truck without connected services. No CIA clown is going to remotely off me!!
I think connected services will be required in '25.

Siri’s can’t even turn off its own services on the older cars. I have two 2009 vehicles and haven’t paid for service in 15 years.

This single incident is why I don't buy modern cars.
well, there is the incident of the entire family being killed in california because their toyota over revved and they could not slow it down.
Love my 4 runner -it has none of those things - one reason it had bad reviews

"air in gasoline"
What?
gas line*
Ok. Either way how is that relevant?
Wait until everything is all electric so nothing like this can happen again. lol
