She slept all day. Didnt really get up when i got home. We fed her late but she didnt eat it. Wich really isnt that abnormal fir her.Left the food down for her. She got up at some point during the night and ate.
Gonna call the vet tomorrow and see if he wants to see her and see if we can finally do something with the lump.
What do you guys think of that fresh pet food? It doesnt have anything as far as preservatives and shit in the ingredients but nothing saying how much carbs or anything in it.
There was a very famous experiment in which they fed cats raw meat, raw milk, and cod liver oil, which they determined to be the ideal diet. They were very healthy, shiny coats, wet nose, clear eyes. Then they fed them the same diet, but cooked it (which destroys the natural enzymes and makes it harder to digest), those cats could not survive 3 generations. They were smaller, their coats not so healthy, etc. Dogs and cats are meant to eat wild game, uncooked. Try feeding your dog raw meat.
The petfood industry is a multi billion dollar industry and from what I hear very profitable for the giant corporations. Much like with what goes on in the healthcare industry they are not going to tell us or let us discover the real truth. The truth would kill their money making schemes.
Ditto this. There are many anecdotal videos I’ve seen about healing animals with pure meat diets. Expensive but maybe worth a try.
Agreed! They are poisoning fur babies with poor grade pet foods and vaccines! Pet cancer has exploded exponentially in the last 30 years.
Raw food diets are the best they were meant to eat and the way they ate in the wild. In the old days pets are the scraps of what their humans ate and that was much healthier than commercial pet food.

This was the work of Dr. Pottenger. His famous book is "Pottenger's Cats". All of the above is true. BUT I fed my two dogs raw hamburger and raw eggs for several years and one of my two dogs developed bladder stones from the high purines. Be careful. Beef is too strong.
Thank you. I spoke with nutritionist Edu Erasmus who wrote the book "Fats that Heal, Fats that Kill" about that research. He said it was very famous. Enzymes are crucial in breaking down the food we eat. Cooking the food, kills the enzymes and it hampers the digestive process. I know breeders who switched from Iam's and Science dog foods, and started feeding their dogs raw meat scraps and the dogs got healthier. It's food for thought.
This, but thoroughly freeze any raw meat you purchase then defrost it. That will kill any parasites that reside in the meat
Super sad. My dog is 13 and her hips are giving out, ive had to help her stand to eat. Difficult decisions are coming soon and I hate it.
I wish that was my dogs problem. Other than this bone cancer in her mouth, shes perfectly healthy. Shes somewhere around 11ish years old but hasnt even hit the retired old dog stage. She still runs around like a puppy.still hops up and off the couch with no troubles. She still eats like a pig when she decides to eat. Shes still got a couple years left in her if it wasnt for this problem.
Prayers to you and your furry family member
Try the turkey Tail Mushroom for Pets suppose to make those cancerous tumors go away. And an incredible immune booster which then the dogs own immune system is able to kill off a lot of that cancer.
Mushrooms are awesome!
That happened to my dog a while back. Sending prayers to you.
Thank you. My kids won't understand and that part makes me sad too.
I'm so sorry, JJ. Dysplasia is awful and there's so little you can do for them at that age.
Hopefully your pup is on a maintenance dose of an anti-inflammatory like carprofen? If not, ask your doc for a maintenance dose to bring down your dog's daily pain levels. It can help a lot.
Thanks for your suggestions friend. Dogs sure are special
Ivermectin helps humans with inflammation and arthritis. Maybe try that for your baby too.
I have a friend who used to train hunting dogs. He swears the best thing for dogs who aren’t well and not eating is raw beef or pork fat with salt on it.
I had a dog at the time that suddenly had trouble walking, no strength in his hind legs, and didn’t want to eat. Fortunately for me there was a local country grocery store that packaged its beef fat trimmings and sold them as suet.
Where he would not eat dog food of any kind, he devoured the salted fat. I have no idea why, but after about two weeks, with no other “treatment,” he was back up running and playing.
When that happened to two senior dogs in our neighborhood we gave them the Naturopathic Meds for Latent Lymes. Colloidal silver and Usnea Tincture. The dogs were about 19 pounds and we gave them the recommended 3 drops of the Usnea per 20 pounds and about a 1/2 teaspoon of the colloidal. In four hours they were up and running and chasing rabbits. I am not even kidding on this one. It was amazing. One dog then went on to live to the age of 15 the other made it to 16.
Wow!
I fed that to my dog when her appetite had decreased. it got her eating. Worth trying.
The issue with fresh pet is you don’t and won’t know if it was left out or bad in production until the dog starts to throw up. I had this issue once. I did used to buy a frozen ground meet feed from petsmart made by Blue years ago and it worked well.
Prayers up🙏!! All of you keep going!!!
I have a diabetic dog that I boil chicken leg/thighs, pull the meat off and feed it to her for about 4 yrs now Your dog will love it.
When we need to give our pups a soft diet we use the chicken and rice and make our own too. It is not hard and the dogs love it and is easily digested. I usually throw in some pet probiotics too.
That works great but diabetic dogs can't have rice. I got tired of trying to find the best food for her so I just give her boiled chicken twice a day, along with her insulin and she has a low fat, no carb kibble to munch on, if she wants too. Her blood work is perfect, and a survivor of pancreatitis now 4 yrs. I'm not changing anything.
Cancer thrives on sugar. Carbs turn directly into sugar once consumed. Id try a pure meat diet.
Yes and it is even more than that. Cancer also thrives in an acidic environment and when the body is metabolizing simple carbohydrates like sugar it creates an acidic environment in the process. 2 reasons to cut down on those simple carbs.BTW wearing masks causes your body to become acidic by retaining too much CO2 and virus and bacterial infections also thrive in an acidic environment.
Ive been drinking the 9.5 ph water. Not sure how much that helps as the stomach is acidic. I have noticed my old body doesnt have as much inflammation after 12 hours working in the sun as it used to. I used to joke with the kids on my crew I had to take an advil just to get out of my truck when I got in the driveway at night.
Just a tip - high ph water will not raise your body's ph. The best water to drink is actually hydrogen rich water; there are a bunch of studies indicating such.
Fresh Pet is dog bologna. God only knows what’s in it. Sure, I’d use it in a pinch, but not for an ailing dog. Recipe for healthy food: 1/2 lb dry barley, 2 large sweet potatoes, cut in pieces, 2 lbs ground turkey, 12-16 oz frozen peas; 12-16 oz frozen blueberries. Layer in crockpot in order given, meaning barley on bottom. Cook on low 10-12 hours, or on high 5-6 hours. Don’t stir till done. If you think it needs to be wetter, add chicken broth and stir till desired consistency. Bam. A week’s worth of high nutrition for your beloved.
Im buying real human food for my sick pup (including canned veggies) and preparing it. Not sure if it helps but the hydrolyzed (over processed) royal canin seems only to benefit our overlords
You call canned veggies real food?
Maybe she canned her own veggies. That is more real than the store cans. I now prefer dehydrating the veggies. Then you can do so much more with them as food. Including grinding the dried veggies into flour. to make good doggie bisquits you know.
OK, but even so, dogs are 100% carnivores by nature.
Royal canin us part of the biggest pet food lawsuit in history happening now
I switched my dogs over to Farmers Dog around 3 years ago. Super expensive but worth it. Prior I was feeding them the highest end dry food I could find and they were in and out of the vet more times than I would like every year. Some conditions more serious than others. Since switching them over both have slimmed down, have a ton more energy and I only take them to the vet for their yearly checkups. Both of my dogs are just turning 6 this year and are mutts so not like they were just aging or had purebred problems. Food matters for them and us.
Only time my dog went to the vet are emergencies. Only shots she ever got were whatever the people i git her from had done. I got her at a year old.
She had 1 rabies shot with me. She took off a couple days after i got her and got caught by the dog catcher. I had to get it to get her back. I think she learned her lesson, she never took off again.🤣 i can almost leave her in the yard by herself. She wont run or anything but she will wander in whatever direction her snoot takes her.
One last bossy comment then I won't bother you anymore.Just no grains. No corn. Diet of beef or chicken Raw if they will eat it) and cooked egg, tuna, canned sardines etc in olive oil or water, cottage cheese etc and I mix peas in the food (no canned peas; cook frozen peas) because carnivores need chlorophyl, like the vegetaion in the stomachs of prey species. I have used a chlorophyl capsule if not peas. Ior collect some green grass for them but unsprayed grass. If a dog will eat raw chicken or beef that's good. Raw egg yolk is great but egg white raw, blocks nutrient absorption. Home made kefir is very helpful. I hope your vet will give you the flagyl for the abscess. Other antibiotic too in combo is fine but the flagyl cannot be skipped. I have had lifesaving proof of this inmy 30 yrs with my animal sanctuary. God bless.
Stop feeding her "pet food" - that's the issue. Start feeding her "food."
Dogs need to eat fresh, unprocessed, raw meat, on the bone. Poultry is ideal, rabbit, pork., lamb etc. I'd stay away from beef bones, they are a little too strong.
I have a book on this subject, if you tell me where to send it I can send you a copy.
Otherwise, look up "Work Wonders" by Tom Lonsdale.
Watch how happy it makes her when she gets real food. Our dog's tail went mental the first time we gave him half a rabbit instead of kibble.

Nice, thanks fren
Don't buy her pet food dont buy her fresh pet food. Buy her meat. Just go to your local store or butcher and ask for trimmings for your dog.
Although expensive, a can of tuna in water works. They absolutely love it. My buddies are all gone right now. I would like another rescue dog but my husband is unwilling to loose another friend after loosing all three of them within 4 years. I'm still working on him.
My dog had an allergic reaction to the fresh pet food, not sure what was in it but he broke out all over in pus filled hives. He has an allergy to something that was in dry food too though, maybe grains, current dry food is grain free and no more hives in a year.
Feed her fresh lean meat such as chicken and lean cuts of beef. Fatty cuts of meat can cause runny stools. Cooked eggs. This is perfect better than any pet food combination. At least avoid any pet food that has seed oils in it.
95f, thank you again for posting these daily updates. This data is going to be incredibly valuable to other dog parents.
I keep forgetting to ask you, is your girl on some maintenance pain medication to keep her more comfortable? I've had very good luck with carprofen (Basically dog ibuprofen) in the past when they were going through chronic issues (cancer, arthritis).
No. I dont think its that painful. She sleeps on it. Probably more uncomfortable than pain? Im sure it doesnt feel good either way.
Look into Dinovite, I think they have a dog food recipe, lots of eggs and hamburger I think.
Raw pet food, such as Raw Dog Naturals, is often slandered in the media. Which, as we know, is usually a good sign that it is on to something. I highly recommend it. It's not cheap, so I go half dry food of high caliber and half Raw Dog Naturals.
The best way that I can get a feeler of my dogs health, beyond weight, activity and appearance, is his poop. I find the above mentioned combination is really good in that regard. He is never straining and consistency is as one would hope it to be.
Like humans, vaccines and bad diet are extremely harmful to our furry friends. I assumed lousy food to be the culprit for most of the benign tumors that I see quite commonly in dogs today. I saw very few in the days of yore. However, the tumors that I most frequently saw were in the neck area, now I see them more on the hind quarters. Turns out that, because of the neck tumors, the vets moved the injection site from the neck to, guess where. Vets are doctors and the same resources make both go round. Trust your own research more than you trust the word of either.
I'll give you a cheaper version of commercial raw: do it yourself.
I feed my 80lb shepherd mix 2 meals a day. Each consists of 2 chicken legs and stew meat. I go to Walmart and buy 4 big packs of legs and 3 of the large stew meat containers. I put to two legs in each small Tupperware container and when I've done all of them, I spread the stew meat throughout all of the containers. Been doing this for a few years with this dog and the one before him. Great coat, great energy, and he loves to eat his food.
Raw chicken thighs. Buck a pound at sams club.
10% of total food raw bones like ribs, backs, necks, thighs and wings, not big load bearers like beef shin.
5% liver, 5 percent other secreting organ. Kidney, tripe, spleen, heart, etc.
Unbrined meat. Salt is terrible for dogs and will give them issues in a hurry
Dude. So we have 3 dogs, was using purina plus/blue buffalo for sometime. Dogs really didnt like the hard food, and we were always getting some sloppy poops from one of them no matter what we tried.
Fresh pet was a game changer. Solid poops, dogs were happy as shit, they love the food. Try it. Really good. Perked up the mood for one of our dogs in particular. Worth it for us.
Just be careful and adjust your dog slowly to the fresh foods. Just like a human coming off drugs(sugar, alcohol, etc) they will go through some withdrawals. All three of mine got sick at first. Diarrhea, puking, etc. Now they're adjusted to the fresh food and happier/healthier than ever. My butcher makes it fresh daily, freezes, and sells by the pound. Aint cheap, but it's good. Little Emma (chi-weenie) had bad yeast infections from the canned foods. That has completely cleared up as the natural flora of the gut has returned. My vet also cut some shots out due to never boarding our dogs. And half doses of others.
