Exactly. So sad. And this goes for people in general. If someone is walking towards you (even without a knife in their hand) then you should be backing up (or more appropriately leaving unless you have to be there, say, to protect a child, etc.). And, you should be packing. Always.
Horrific and awful. Yes, the officer wasn't trained properly, but he didn't have to die by this illegal's hand if that illegal had been prevented from coming in the country or arrested and deported beforehand, which is what SHOULD have been done.
The death of this officer is on the Biden admin's hands. Will they make an apology? Of course not.
Police officers are too scared to act, lest they be plastered all over the propaganda networks and labeled a racist. Or, they will be prosecuted like Derek Chauvin. Many pay with their lives or serious injury. It's a damn shame. Exactly what the commies want.
^^^This is more relevant to this story than you may know. Another LCPD officer is currently facing charges for killing an old woman that was approaching with a knife in each hand - officer was called to the scene because old woman threatened to kill a family member.
My second time coming to this post... it's so disturbing. What a way to die!
And I made the mistake of leaving my sound on... hearing his screams... hearing his blood gurgling.
This bothers me and I am now officially one more level higher on my personal DEFCON scale with respect to strangers. I will not live in fear. But I sure as hell will be even more ready.
Facts not mentioned in article: First LEO line of duty death in Las Cruces PD history; property is a gun store with an indoor range; homeless encampment and facilities that service the homeless (partially tax-payer funded) back up to this property.
God Bless this officer's family & God bless the CITIZEN THAT CAME TO HIS AIDE ... DO NOT LET THEM TAKE OUR GUNS AMERICA!
FWIW, that cop wasn't trained properly and paid the price with his life.
The assailant would have been neutralized had he been....
This. Always watch the hands.
Hands, Waistband, Eyes in that order.

"Always" Amen!
Cop was WAY too trusting of the situation. Very poor situational awareness got him killed.
Yeah, he assumed he was approaching the property owner who made the call, and not the trespasser.
VERY GRAPHIC and sad so be prepared for that frens, pray for this officers family
The audio was pretty awful. Please God look after this man's family.
The sound of his blood gushing as he breathed brought me to tears.
Same here.
I don't feel comfortable around these illegals. And they seem to move in packs.

This is why our people are dying because they force us to hold our weapons until it's too late!
I know for a fact that it's the main problem.

Sad for the officers family.
Really sad to see this. Stay on guard and vigilant.
poor guy. hopefully the animal was put down after that act
Hate to say it but that cop fucked up bad.
You NEVER let anyone get close to you at a potential crime scene until they are positively identified.
That wasn't luck it was training. He knew exactly where to stab him.
This is why every single American citizen should be aware of their surroundings, trained, and armed at all times. Everything can change in an instant.
