Commissioner Laura Kavanagh must have known how the firefighters would react to AG Letitia James addressing the promotion ceremony! Trump is well-loved by the FDNY! What a disgrace to invite James to the ceremony and ruin what should have been a happy occasion for the firefighters and their families! What the members of the FDNY should make clear to their leadership is they won’t back down. Way back when I was in the USAF, we were deployed over to the Middle East. One night, a group of us thought it would be funny to launch water balloons over to the basketball court that was about a block away from the building we were staying in. We chose a very obscure window, and it was at night, so they couldn't tell where the balloons were coming from. Two of us were holding each side of the slingshot, and one guy would pull back real far and launch them. He got real good at aiming them. Instead of trying to hit any one directly, he figured out he could get them the wettest if he hit the ground a few feet in front of them. Turns out that our First Sergeant was out there playing ball that night and got a pretty good soaking.
Instead of laughing it off, and enjoying the spirit of the prank, he shows up on the flight line a day or two later, at shift change, and makes us all get into formation. Then he blathers on and on about the UCMJ, and assault, and all other kinds of nonsense, and then proceeds to tell us that they know who it was that did that, and if everyone involved would just take a step forward, the consequences wouldn't be as bad. Yeah, right! If they know who we were, they would have just come and got us. Thank goodness no one was stupid enough to step up - they would have been stupid enough to turn us all in.
The firefighters need to just sit back and let these assholes go through their semantics and blustering. If they knew who dis'ed the queen bitch, they would have grabbed them already.
And if I am a firefighter, who voted for or wants vote a certain candidate, who sees my employer trot out a poster child for those trying to suppress my vote. Takes money from donors like Soros, Gates, or other diabolical billionaires who have agendas to pervert jiusrice. An AG who has done little to nothing to diminish violent crime in NYC, and has actually facilitated releasing violent criminals back on the streets of NYC as well as the whole state.
