SUBJECT: RUSSIAN RESPONSE TO SENATE DECISION
In the immediate aftermath of this Senate’s actions regarding A Bill to C.A.P.T.C.H.A. (Create a Procedure to Combat Hacker Attacks), the group of hackers responsible for the 2020 hackings have threatened to expose the classified secrets of the US Government, American businesses, and the financial and personal information of at least 100 million American citizens.
While the Russian government has denied any culpability for such threats, the threats have been credibly traced by the Central Intelligence Agency to “Fancy Bear” and “Cozy Bear,” the two hacking groups under the oversight of the GRU, Russia’s intelligence service. The hackers have made the following demands in exchange for not exposing the aforementioned information:
1. Nullify the results of the 2020 presidential election, and inaugurate President Trump for a second term in office;
2. Withdraw all American troops from Central and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East;
3. Remove all sanctions on Russia and Russian officials, and allow American businesses free rein to conduct business in Russia.
Simultaneously, multiple developments have occurred. The Pentagon has lost contact with American forces and command structures in Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
USCENTCOM and USEUCOM databases are offline, as is the White House-Kremlin hotline.
Panic has erupted across the nation as Americans grow increasingly frightened of their personal and financial information, including Social Security numbers and bank routing numbers being compromised. It is feared that the American people will begin to withdraw their money from the banks if this threat persists. A depression unprecedented in scale is possible: the Dow has dropped by 2400.18 points, and the Dollar has fallen 16.2% against the Euro, Yen, Pound Sterling, and Renminbi.
In response to the economic panic, the Federal Reserve has lowered
interest rates into negative territory, and the FDIC is preparing to seize local and regional banks to protect Americans’ deposits. Riots have broken out in several cities, with supporters of the President taking to the streets and people raiding groceries and wholesale stores, oftentimes violently. Governors of all 50 states have mobilized their National Guards.
In response to Russia’s demands, the Department of Defense has urged this Congress to pass legislation containing either offensive or defensive strategies. Senators will advocate for one of the two pieces of legislation introduced, keeping in mind the demands Russia has made to the United States. It is crucial Congress makes a calculated decision to protect the fate of this nation.
I don't understand why they do not use unhackable systems. I have all my secret information stored in places that have no connection to the Internet. Problem solved!
Nothing is "unhackable", could take longer, be more difficult, but everything is hackable.
You of course could take it off all networks, disconnect the keyboard monitor and mouse, shut off the serial ports, power it off... but useless.. and still hackable if I can to the hardware...
The trick is to make it so hard anything short of Magic won't work..
Come to the cloud, they said, it'll be easy, they said, you'll have no more worries about access our security, we'll take care of it all, they said...
My company was bought by a company that used Google for almost everything, that had the nerve to tell us their systems and security were so much mature than ours, that all our shared services people may as well start looking for new positions. And then we started finding a bunch of their documents from open internet Google searches. And then others found their business email content through similar means. But now, years later, of course execs are migrating on prem to cloud. They don't realize what pay-per-transaction really means, because they don't even know what a data transaction is. Throwing money at STEM is still not going to recreate logic, critical thought, etc when it's been removed completely from the government indoctrination daycare center curricula.

SUBJECT: RUSSIAN HACKINGS OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ASSETS
Throughout 2020, the United States received intelligence that Russian hackers have infiltrated secure government databases and servers, including those located in The Pentagon, the Intelligence Community, the US Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security, the Commerce Department, and Health and Human Services. Within the servers affected, 18,000 US organizations had malicious code in their networks; 50 of them suffered major breaches.
As of the 13th of December, when this knowledge was made known to US officials, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has been working tirelessly to secure networks and alleviate any vulnerabilities in the systems that were affected. Russia has denied responsibility for such hackings.
This hacking poses a major threat to US cybersecurity, as it is one of the most significant hackings in modern history. The Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and CISA have urged Congress to take action against this emerging threat. In response, Congress has introduced the following piece of legislation, named after an essential cybersecurity tool:
A Bill to C.A.P.T.C.H.A. (Create a Procedure to Combat Hacker Attacks).
It is your responsibility as Congress to come to a decision on this legislation before more damage is done.
Products other than EDTs, or those specifically designed for heating purposes, were
associated with an estimated 34 CO deaths (16%) in 2018. Staff notes that several of the
involved products, although not designed specifically as heating devices, were being used
for, or were suspected as being used for, heating purposes, such as gas ranges, camp
stoves, and charcoal grills.
...well now I know why new york is trying to ban gas stoves...kek...
Jokes aside, I wouldn't be shocked if the whole thing wasn't a classic government overreaction...

"Credibly," according to whom?

It depends on what you call "hackable". I assumed it meant an attack across the Internet. No Internet: no hack.
If you are saying that my ring binder is also hackable because you could raid my home and find it then I agree. Nothing is unhackable.
Re: ringbinder...
Yep it's hackable, like 14 year old boy breaking into daddy's stash of playboys hackable..
:-) yea you get my point
Nice try, fedboi.
If it's in the public domain, it's no longer classified.

This is exactly why I as a security professional have repeatedly said to maintain and manage your own servers and databases
Good Lord! I just looked through these. See two I have copied below that are pretty darn important.
— Every Sensible Cloud Admin upon seeing news that the government signed a contract to store documents en masse in AWS.
This is either intentional disclosure or the work of a Steve Bartmanesque retard.
