Upvotes always play up, not just for new members. Usually the upvotes shows as sticking after a few mins while the server does its magic. But there are a few times under load that the upvote does not stick at all, but its rare.
I've noticed that when I upvote topics via the search function, the upvotes don't stick. At least they disappear upon refresh from the search results screen. Pretty weird. They are there, but they don't appear.
Can someone check this out for me please?

I've been a member for over a year, and have posted dozens of times in other's threads. But whenever I start a thread of my own, no one ever sees it. Can someone explain exactly what is going on here?
You still have the handshake icon next to your username, which means you are considered to be a "new user". As you build up karma points by making more comments and getting more upvotes, you can make posts freely. Normally it takes around a week or two if active.
I’m not an expert on this subject. It’s probably stuck under the new tab and some people might only look at the HOT tab. Maybe it’s also the wording used in the title. Same thing happens to my post unless it’s a hot topic. Also I’m thinking the more people that open it up to read pushes it to the top.

Just asking. I just bought a 25 watt ham mobile radio and a couple of handheld ones for emergency coms. Has anyone here thought about doing the same thing? My wife used to think I'm nuts prepping but she actually thought it was a smart idea. I guess things are getting weird enough that she's even getting a little concerned.
If SHTF, a license is redundant, having organized and archived hard copies of relevant information is way more important
I really don't have much interest really. It's like trucking, get truckers together at the stops and all they talk about is trucking. The last thing I want to go on about is trucking. Basically it's talk about what radio's and antenna setups they are using and how far away they are from each other. I get it, but it's just not me, then again I also know a good understanding of what they are capable of and how to use them could be a life saver someday. I figure in a bad situation little ol me on a radio isn't going to be too important, I might actually take the test if I can raise my enthusiasm past snooze level.
I've notice that MSM shows the ship hitting the bridge, but they don't show how it turned to head directly into the bridge support! CBS "news" showed the ship when it was NOT facing the bridge support, then advance to when it collided with the bridge support; cutting out the portion of the video where it turned.
Did you see the video showing position of the ship on a map of the bay? At the last seconds of video you see the ship veer straight towards the bridge

I just saw on Fox news, I don't watch normally but am up at 5 am for work and put it on to see what they are saying about the bridge destruction. The men working on the bridge, according to the Mexican consulate, the crew were made up of Mexican, Honduran and Guatemalan and the immigration status is unknown. Wow, they were illegals working for our government. Wonder how much money they will launder to the families for the pols to steal.
