Why is ANYONE happy about allowing [them] to indiscriminately pick and choose which protests are allowed, based on whether or not it aligns with [their] agendas?
For every action there are results, choose wisely. Play stupid games and you may get results you didn’t expect. These brain dead children have screwed up their lives and their parents’ pocketbooks. Many of these protesters are not students, but are outside paid factions who may never have held a legitimate job, they play the system and/or live in daddy and mommy’s basement.
You don't train a puppy to poop outside by explicitly letting it poop inside everywhere and then drop-kicking into the wall as soon as it poops on your favorite shoes.
"Stupid games" were explicitly allowed and encouraged, 99% of all actions had absolutely no results.
The only time it started to matter is not when they burned down their communities in mostly peaceful protests, but when they protested against those who are not allowed to be criticized. Which is total bullshit. Enforcing rules selectively means that rules don't actually exist.

I'm not sure about the legality of that.
When my kid was a student the dorm rules were pretty detailed about what could cause them to lose their housing priviledge so I think they could enforce it if they want to - my guess is they won't.
I hope they are refunding their money for a wasted semester.
