Comparatively few started out on the paths history remembers them for solely based off a lust for power and control. Many, at least initially, set out with the intention of helping their people.

The reason 'humanitarianism' becomes terrorism? because the 'humanitarianism' is fake. So the harm cuts twice. Then the disempowered and enraged and unhelped go crazy and turn into revolutionists (which are called by the 'winning' team, 'terrorists')
It's fake because they ('the humanitarians'---the left) are a bunch of psychopaths and sociopaths--and don't realy want to help people but to give the appearance of helping people. This also means they fail to actually understand human nature, they can only attempt to various degrees to imitate it. They actually don't have legitimate empathy, otherwise they wouldn't engage in hollow virtue-signalling, they'd ACTUALLY HELP and be humble about it.
You see if you virtue signal, you give lip service but accomplish nothing. IF you help and then demand credit, you deeply insult the recipient of your help. Thus you must help and not take credit. The left will NEVER learn this lesson. Because essentially, they are hollow, dysempathetic people who ONLY care about optics and not about real virtue
The 'well meaning' lumpen nothingpeople on the left--the little people--may not be sociopaths but they are simpletons and authoritarians. They are authoritarians because they give up their own agency to these 'hollow' organizations which take their charity and spend it on themselves and on advertising how good they are doing in the world (when they aren't....the verificaiton is the several charity watch websites that give them ABYSMAL ratings on actually giving the money to people they purport to help).
These nothingpeople--the disempowered, and count myself among them with a proviso--they are also pathologically incurious. They are incurious, because otherwise they'd have--like us here--gone through the process of simple internet research to discover that charities are bullshit and scams. And so are churches really. And that the best way to help in the world, actually, is to improve yourself 1, then your family 2, then your community3 and then society 4; and if any member of YOUR society or YOUR family needs help, you fucking help them.
You get NO credit for letting your diseased aunt wither away in abandon when you could have easily intervened, say, than simply giving 500 dollars to some 'whatever-a-thon', or participating in a charity walk, or even traveling the world with some kind of christian group spending enormous amounts of money to build 5 houses for the poor in say Haiti, that will fall apart in 7 yrs.
my point is and I'll stop here: charity begins at home. you dont get credit letting your house burn down while ferrying buckets of water to another village
