The reson being shorter Officers are more prone to be attacked then taller Officers. As a former FTO with the SD new hires were not considered any help until they had proven themselves in the Real World. Rookies had to earn respect. So consider yourself alone until the Rookie proves themselves. Your backup may be 15 to 20 minutes away. You would have a idea as they checked 10-8 10-17 with their location. Until then you are on your own.
in the military the PT Test shows proof of this as male requirements are different between males and females along with age for those very reasons.
I already noticed back then the quality of officers was slowly going downhill. We had a situation where a small town PD hired a rookie officer . He had been working for them about a year and early on we stressed the importance of learning his 10 codes. I was 5 miles out and another Deputy was also several miles out whe the call came in for the bank robbery in progress. The call was given to him. The other Deputy and myself checked 10-8 10-17 to back him up. He responded back to the dispatcher he was doing a interview with someone and would respond as soon as he cleaared the interview. This was several minutes later after he had already 10-4d the call. Needless to say informed the responding Deputy to park at the 3 'clock position at the bank and i would take the 1 o'clock position so we could have a 360 view of the bank. He was only two blocks away and we arrived before he did. When dispatch called stating the bank had called the suspects had left. There are a few more stories similar to this but made me thankful I was retiring.
They are not hiring the best and most qualified ,and now this is showing the results of this foolishness.

I wouldn't be against having female SS, I could see a slight strategic advantage in them being more unassuming and when protecting other females/kids it might make them more comfortable. I also think women are better than men at reading body language, which I think would be very useful for a job like this.
However, you need to be very cognizant in exactly what skills and ability you are losing and what you are gaining by making that decision. Women have a lot of weaknesses that the rest of the security detail will need to make up for, and everyone should be honest in determining if it's worth it; not worth it for diversity, but worth it as in "Is the team stronger or weaker now?". If weaker, they shouldn't be there.

I was ridiculed, scorned, and even eschewed by a couple of family members - and this was about firefighting, not a security detail. My argument centered on physics: I am 6'3, 300#. Used to box and weightlift and have fought a few fires in my day. If I'm wearing all the necessary equipment, including oxygen tanks, and I go down for some reason and you have to drag me out of a compartment, a petite female who might be a badass back at the station is not going to be able to do it, period - and I would die. Simple physics - with equipment, I'm pushing 360#, plus there is the phenomenon of "dead weight." Rescue simply will not happen.

They claim equality then we should have one standard PT test with everyone by age would all have to make the 2 mile runs based on one time for age. Not based on male or female and giving the females more time.
With the SD we had some that held their own and a few we had to rescue. But then we had a few males like that also. I am old school if you can not hack it then pack it and find something else. Military, LE and Fire are not games and real people can lose real lives.
Heh. I have had to call an ambulance only once in my life, I had heart arrhythmia (turned out to be a basically non-dangerous, if unpleasant, variety). The two paramedics were both women, one older, one pretty skinny younger one.
Now, I'm afraid that I have gotten pretty fat in my old age. Considering my weight, I highly doubt those two women would have been able to get me on the stretcher and into the ambulance by themselves if I had actually been having something like a serious heart attack and had collapsed on the yard before they got there. As it was I could climb inside the ambulance all by myself so no problem, but the thought certainly occurred to me, wondering what they would have done if I had been unconscious and lying on the ground. Well, maybe they would have been able to do it, but what is pretty certain it would have taken them way more time than the same job would have taken for two men, or even if just one of them had been a man. When I was younger I got some personal experiences trying to get mostly unconscious and almost totally limp drunks inside a car, out of a car, into the house, into a bed or at least a sofa, and yes, even when it's a skinny person when they go totally limp they can be surprisingly hard to lift or drag. When it's somebody with more weight, damn near impossible, and I even used to be pretty strong for a woman (I have always liked lifting weights).
Most cops are shit at doing their job, female cops are ten times worse due to trying to act like they have balls all the time.

And third alternative, they had not been ordered to act in ways to give the shooter a chance, they were just bad at their jobs, but somebody had made sure that the ones Trump got in the first place were the worst qualified in the whole group. So not an active attempt from the Secret Service or police side to aid a shooter, but still a deliberate one made in hopes that this might happen, and the shooter succeed, but sort of an attempt anyway even if only a passive one.

Yep! We have a few females on our fire dept who can’t do much physically. Never going interior with them. Fuck their feelings about that.
