I have a rule of thumb which has bitten me in the ass, several times, when I didn't follow it.
RULE:
If you are so proud of your stock investment ----- that you show it to a friend ------ SELL.
That's a great rule. I just know we are screwed if things don't go the way Q has stated it will go. I believe that DJT is part of that plan. I can't prove it and my friends think I am crazy. Still I and not worried about the stock pick at all. At the very least I can see how DJT has a future after the poop hits the fan. Not so much the other big stocks.

I just logged into E*Trade.
Did hear something on the radio though too about some not being able to login.
I wasn’t able to log into Fidelity earlier this morning and then it was available for a while. Now it’s down again.
My old Vanguard account that I've mostly transferred out of already is the only one glitching out, got into Fidelity and E*Trade without issue.

The NASDAQ is down 6%. In 1987 on Black Monday the NASDAQ dropped 22%. This is not a monster crash.
Exactly, the market immediately rebounded the 3% in like the first hour of trading. People are so knee jerk reactionary irrationally so, and the trading platforms were NEVER down today, I dont know what kimdotcom is talking about.
Hell, if you're young this is what you want to see. It transferred money from boomers to those who are buying. If you're in your 20's, a declining market is perfect for capturing long term gains.
Oh no, the market has crashed all the way down to what it was in May of this year! Everyone panic!
Difference is with how over leveraged everything is today, and with how much more worthless the US dollar has become - A 6% dip can have multiples more negative impacts that the 22% 1987 dip

Plausible. Back when Enron stock was crashing, they stopped their employees from selling off their Enron shares in the company 401K until it was too late. All of those people lost their retirement

Just over loaded with idiots who do not understand markets. Heap of over valued stocks, what goes up must come down. Buy quality at reasonable prices and you will sleep easy and not have to log on and panic.

This is nonsense, at no point today were my trading platforms preventing me from selling anything. IF they were down if was for a very short amount of time, but I didn't see that, and I was watching from the opening bell.
I was unable to log onto Schwab, but Fidelity was working for me.
Yea I see that now. I was using Schwabs ThinkorSwim platform which was working fine so I thought all of schwab was fine, but their regular platform did go down. How long was it down for you?
I tried a few times over the course of an hour, and then had to leave and didn't try again the rest of the day.
So when the MOASS happens, you can't sell GME even if you want to?
I moved all my money into T-bills about 6 months ago. Unless the total U.S. economy crashes, the government ceases to exist, etc., I should be ok :)
