They were not able to come to an agreement. The strike starts at 11:59 PM.
I truly hope you guys stocked up when I originally posted about this...
Keep in mind that one of the reasons why they want everyone to rent and not own is that those who rent are less able to be self-sufficient. These people are likely living in apartments, small spaces, etc. where it's tougher to grow produce and have sufficient space to store supplies in the event of an emergency. This is especially true if you're living in a larger city instead of a rural area. If you're a homeowner, you're already better off than most people.
Correct.
You have more autonomy and less reliant on services as the extra space gives you more planning and flexibility.
The hurricane knocked out my power for several days but I had half my freezer full of ice bags and I only lost a few food times because of a large fridge and freezer in my home. Most small apartments and studios can not have such a luxury. In fact I have space in the garage to put in another fridge as a backup for the next hurricane season that I am considering.
Our government used to teach and encourage self-reliance and an independent citizenry. Take those old flyers telling people to grow hemp, produce, livestock, etc. Chickens were considered an essential resource to manage by an American citizen. At one point, the government knew that a strong, resourceful citizen is a powerful tool.
Where did it all go wrong? Things have turned completely 180 degrees the other direction. It's just further proof that our own government has been compromised by bad actors.
I think technology has also created a sense of not needing these skills anymore. But in reality we need them more now because we have less local banks and unions to work with. Less local farms and small shops to shop with.
When things go sideways you can't rely on Amazon or Walmart to help out. Local community, small shops and neighbors are where we win as Americans.
Consider a box freezer, for clean meat (but a quarter cow, half pig, etc from the farmer or rancher) and vacuum-packed veggies or fruits from a known local source...
Bring the bulk of human trafficking to a halt.
I’m worried about those currently in containers that will die.
Maybe the White Hat will/can do a rescue op.
Got a freezer full of venison and other goods, and lots of canned food. Luxuries? Who cares. I'll wait it out.
Somebody please warn all the dogs and cats!
I’m not saying this isn’t a happening.
But the Cargo Ship “Crisis” turned out to be a Nothing Burger.
Let’s hope this is nothing more than Red Pill/Fear Porn.
I have internal emails that prove it my dude... I'm hoping like hell it doesn't go on for longer than a day or 2... because if it goes on for weeks or months, this country is fuuuucked.
That's probably 11:59 Eastern, right? Just 8:00 out West. Still time for a run on Walmart.
Yeah, I am doing the same here fren. Let us know if the store is crowded or becoming low on stock.
Half a cow frozen!! Almost 400 water bottles. My wife and I are ready.
I am stocked up on the most important item, toilet paper. But based on a good video, our daily goods are not the problem. It is a business problem such that jobs are on the line.
Ha! Since 2020 I keep my TP super stocked. No way I'm dealing with that again.
Retrofitted bidets FTW...
