Not only is he one of my favorite creators, he seems properly grounded in real life {ironically}. He seems pretty old school, even down to his haircut. Recently when diagnosed with emphysema, he didn't quickly demonize smoking and preach about how he made a huge mistake. He actually waxed on about how much he enjoyed smoking, the habit he had of editing his films while lighting a cig. He went on to acknowledge it was in fact slowly killing him the entire time, but he also made sure to mention once again that it was one of his favorite things to do.
I also think he drops red pills in his films. Either that, or he's one of them.
I tend to think he's an outsider with some inside knowledge.
He seems like a gentle soul. I'm going to look for some more of his material. Maybe there's a reminder or pointing I've overlooked along the way.
I got there looking at his stuff on the singularity...
Terence McKenna was wrong about the date of 'The Singularity/Eschaton/End of Time', taking place in 2012. But he was so incredibly correct about the future, he saw it, he sensed it, he articulated it incredibly, here's a quote:
"It's only going to get weirder. The level of contradiction is going to rise excruciatingly, even beyond the excruciating present levels of contradiction. And finally it's going to be so weird that people are going to have to talk about how weird it is. And at that point novelty theory can come out of the woods, because eventually people are going to say, โWhat the hell is going on?โ It's just too nuts, it's not enough to say it's nuts, you have to explain why it's so nuts. So, between now and 2012, the next 14 years, I look for: the invention of artificial life, the cloning of human beings, possible contact with extraterrestrials, possible human immortality, and at the same time, appalling acts of brutality, genocide, race baiting, homophobia, famine, starvation; because the systems which are in place to keep the world sane are utterly inadequate to the forces that have been unleashed"
That McKenna quote is exactly where we find ourselves. The absurdity cant be missed. Patriots condemn it as a tool for enslavement and libtards try to justify it. Either way both are taking notice that it is absurd.
I agree, His artistic nature is evident in his very expressive diagrams. What he has to say about transcendentalism reminds me much of Jiddu Krishnamurti: attainment of peace "without trying." It was an echo of the phrase from his movie, "Dune", in which interstellar flight was "traveling without moving." I couldn't help but notice the similarity.
The fact the camera can capture it but doesn't show up in a mirror doesn't make sense. Light is reflecting off the rock, thus you can see it, a mirror changes nothing. Looks more like various magician trikcs.
Interesting but I wish he shared how to do what he is saying. He kept saying it's easy but does he provide how? Genuine question, not bashing. I'd like to try it but can't find how to.
He refers to transcendental meditation. You go learn to do it. You are given a mantra. Over the course of a day or two, you go back and they check that you are doing it correctly. I learned 30+ years ago. I believe it was around $500 at the time. You're only there an hour or two iirc each day. It will change your life.
If this is such a good thing, then why does one have to pay money to learn it? One would think that all this new-found goodness would motivate someone to simply pass on the knowledge to others.
David Lynch answers that question exactly at 26 minutes in... better than I could have stated myself.
While there are literally thousands of books, videos and other materials on meditation, none of them are specifically, Transcendental Meditation.
I'm not going to tell you that you couldn't achieve something similar on your own, but the chances are not as good as being taught how to do it correctly.
Like many things... it's often only worth, or more accurately stated, valued if it hurts a little. See entry on engagement ring
I know... but some of us (can only speak for myself) have a hard time staying in a calm, peaceful state for very long.... because we're just assholes in certain aspects - (part of the ego that just won't quit?) and that assininity (even a word, dumbass?) is woven into our character's fabric...(Hypercritical survival mechanism?) and seems to be terribly challenging to remove or eliminate.
This must be incredibly confusing for non-humans to understand - the ability to observe and experience bliss and sitting in the silent center if your soul one minute, and then pointing out the faggitry you see in the world the next.
Late to this, but the real diamond is that which is always present. No location, no time. It is innate (actually, it is even closer than innate) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZYeg6JTPL0
David Lynch explains Transcendental Consciousness perfectly :

Thanks for posting the video. I've read a lot of Eckhart Tolle, listened to a lot of Alan Watts and Terrance Mckenna.

This isn't a church asking for an offering. This is a business asking for a fee for a service that may or may not be legitimate.
Lots of books about it.

Really great pointing - Thank you for contributing.

The focus of this thread is acknowledging the fact, that which is seen, rests upon that which is not seen.
Isn't that a quote of Kamala's?
Anybody know what mantra he uses?
