Way more dangerous for the operator getting out at every stop just to hook up the can. Maybe their union fights for these types of trucks because of their inefficiency. Requiring more man power, longer work days in the process.

He also made his money in big pharma which everyone seems to forget. He has lit made huge money from selling drugs that probs could have been replaced by safer alternatives. Ive done it. Got sick and had to shutter a business. When I got well I took a job on a garbage truck to feed my family. Its hard work and non stop moving. I did it in winter time up north so it was wet, icy and cold the entire time. Did it for about a month before i started getting calls for my business again then rebuilt it. Much respect for the guys that do that. I routinely greet them and give them lunch money out of gratitude v some of it does pay pretty well.

One of my extra jobs was picking up aluminum cans in a dump truck. We had a net over the bed so the cans wouldn't fly out on the highway.
Well, I looked in my rear view mirror as I headed down the highway at 60 mph and all I could see were cans blowing in the air behind me down the highway.
There was a hole that ripped open in the net.
Needless to say, that was quite the cleanup I had to do.
Doing anything with trash or cleaning is a thankless job and nobody likes to do, but it's a necessity. My parents taught me very early to always treat those people kindly because they do the hardest work.
