As a fellow Christian I’d go easy on that “never forgive”. We can forgive, but it doesn’t mean your free to go. I have zero problems forgiving someone whose behind bars, or worse, for their crimes against so many. I’ll gladly look them in the eye and forgive them. And this is after I’ve buried family members, and even as I speak, more are fighting cancers from that death jab. But I’ll forgive you. But you’ll have to face the music. Whatever it may be. Jesus forgives. And so will I. But Justice is justice. And to be a person that follows Christ, do not fear your judgment. Just know that you can be forgiven, always, but your punishment on this side of eternity will still happen. It should happen.
Depends on the crime. God can forgive, but he's God and he can do all things. I'm only human. There is no forgiveness for certain crimes. Like crimes against children. Pretty sure even Jesus hinted at there being no forgiveness for them either, millstones and all.
The millstone reference isn’t about children, as in little kids. This has been the greatest misquoting of the gospel I think I’ve ever seen. Esp here on these forums. That reference is about new Christians. Those who have just came to know their savior Jesus, their God, with their childlike faith..the warning is against those who try and misinform them or derail them. It really refers to Satan and those who follow him. For new, reborn individuals, Christians, Satan goes after them terribly. And because of their new found heart, their childlike faith, they could be easier to fool. That scripture of the millstone is in reference to them. Not some joker at a Diddy party. No, we are commanded to forgive as Christ would forgive. The word commanded may have not been used, but it basically has.
Matthew:18 20-35. When Peter asked how times should he forgive? Jesus says 77 times. Which mean’s basically, forever forgiveness. There is never a time we should not forgive. Ever. It may be hard to forgive sure. It may takes years. But, if you cannot forgive, then why should God forgive you? These are conversations those who have God in their life should have with Jesus. Ask God to help you forgive. He knows you better than you know yourself. But understand, God wants you to forgive. And don’t we all want to please the Father? Of course we do.
That’s called God’s Wrath. And mercy. He coulda wiped out everyone. Your here because he had mercy and love for mankind. And there was literally only a handful of people that still believed and trusted in God. And those survivors spared are your ancestors.
What about forgiveness? That was the question. I'm poking the bear cuz I feel strongly that the Bible is only perfect in the perspective of each individual. Blanket use of its stories to achieve a desired outcome is pointless
Those stories are there to directly have a desired outcome from God himself, about us. Don’t you think there could be thousands more stories through the course of thousands and thousands of years, added to the Bible because stuff happened? Jesus had a life. Everyday could’ve been added. But specific events were in the Bible for us. Same with the Old Testament. Decades of Moses could’ve been added, but we were given specific scripture because, of course, a desired outcome from the Father himself. God’s word isn’t for a select few. It’s for all. And for all to follow as instructions from God himself.
Does a parent not give instruction to their child for a desired outcome of events? Does the child always follow perfectly? No. So we write it down for them because it’s easier for them to learn. God’s Word, written us is all.
Now every word of scripture can mean something different to each person on each day. One line could mean something at age 20, and completely line up again at age 50. But direct instructions given by Jesus about forgiveness from the Father isn’t a “I decide what it means” situation. It’s explained very clearly. And is understood by those who have a relationship with Jesus. Doesn’t mean questions don’t come up, like Peter asked. And those questions are answered, by Christ alone, esp about forgiveness.
So, do as I say not as I do.
This is my problem with the human translation of God's word .
It's only perfect in its ability to relate to each soul on a soul by soul basis .
Anyone speaking from a position of authority on God's word is a fool IMHO
When Peter asked how times should he forgive? Jesus says 77 times. Which mean’s basically, forever forgiveness.
Oh please 77 is a very specific and limited number. Go to any court in the land and ask a domestic abuse victim how many times she has forgiven him. 77 times? Those are rookie numbers. That won't even get you on COPS.
We’re talking about when Jesus spoke to Peter about forgiveness, not some episode in COPS. In that time period, their beliefs, if you forgave someone, even your own family member more than 2-3 times, you were a fool. So Peter, in frustration asked Jesus, we’ll how many times should I forgive someone..seven times? And seven times would’ve been ridiculous! And Jesus says not seven times, but seventy seven times. He’s telling Peter with this insane high number that there is no limit to forgive someone.
Matthew :18 21-22
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times
Jesus Christ tells us to love our enemies. Not to curse them.but to bless them. There are no exceptiins. The great purpose of that command is to be followers of God as dear children and the love of God in manifestation never fails. Its not an emotion to love os a deliberate act of obedience, as God says "this is my love, that you keep my word". We can still hold them accountable without ruining our own walks with God.
Well Flynn seems to be a devout Christian. He talks about his faith all the time, I mean a lot. So when a person like that says “I will never forgive”, it lessens his testimony. As a Christian you represent Christ. That’s scripture. So we should always watch what, and how we say things. That’s also scripture. Look to Paul for much of that. So as I said in my original comment, I’d go easy on that no forgiveness stuff. You don’t want to be responsible for other Christians following suit, when God expects us to be a certain way. Flynn has a responsibility. I wanna think he is just be hard right now. But it’s the job of his fellow Christians to call him out if he steps out of line. As for myself as well. We wanna represent Christ as best we can right? So we help each other.
So when a person like that says “I will never forgive”, it lessens his testimony.
When a person like Flynn says "I am Irish", it means that he has inherited grudges from his Great-great-great Grandmother, and has no intention of forgiving you for what your family said about our Bridget, ya bastards.
LoL. Well being a Christian exceeds a person's lineage. Your bloodline ain’t gonna mean squat when you stand before the Father. But covered in the blood of Christ will.
Eh, he's probably that variety of "devout Christian" who has never read the Bible, doesn't go to church, but constantly talks about how much they love God/Jesus.
And then they constantly argue against what Jesus and God say in the Bible, because it doesn't suit them, personally.
There seems to be some Christians exactly like that in this very discussion. Amazing. 🤷♀️
You don’t have to go to church to be a true Christian. We all have the ability to have a personal relationship with the one true living God and our savior. Reading the bible doesn’t hurt though but some versions can lead you astray as can some churches. Discernment is an important tool when navigating your spiritual journey.
As I said. Correct, nowhere does it say the forgiven won’t face consequences. The whole discussion here is about one’s forgiveness for another. As God teaches us.
i hope that faggot Renegade does run and ends up living in a straw hut with a mud floor, but then after about a month of living like that, the flimsy wood door is knocked down at 4 a.m. and he's dragged out like a piece of garbage and taken to GITMO.
Eh. I give it until February until Flynn and his group have forgotten all about Obama. And Hillary. And Biden. And whoever else they were supposed to be sending to GITMO.
Sure I am. I'm just applying what they did last time to what they'll do this time.
I think I might just have some extremely rare type of memory when compared to people here.
Just as an example, how long did it take Trump to go from "Lock her up! Lock her up!" about HRC to "imprisoning her would be a real bad thing" once he was in office?
we all remember the same thing, but we also paid attention to recent events, where he admitted his mistake, talked about how and why things went down the way they did the first time around, and how they absolutely won't be as foolish this time around.
The older that I’m allowed to live, I’ve changed from exhausting myself with forgiveness, to, “I don’t care”, I’ve decided that God can do the forgiveness, I’ll just don’t care anymore and just label it as Fuck them.
This reminds me of the Q post that says something like The first arrest will show the direction they will take or something like that. Are we absolutely sure the first arrest has actually taken place?
Gen. Flynn don't forget the J6'ers still behind bars. And don't forget those whose livelihoods were greatly diminished by the lockdowns or destroyed by the Fauci approved C19 vax. Please urge Pres. Trump to have his people up to speed on day 1 so arrests can begin the minute after he's sworn in at the inauguration. The digital soldiers, MAGA Patriots and so many other citizens who have endured the bitterness, hatred, the censoring deserve to see the criminals perp walked on national TV. It would be fitting to see at the Inauguration with the sound of Nessum Dorma playing in the background.
Just hope they actually do something about it this time, and not just jibber jabber away about it.
If we flip the House, as is expected, this will be the second time that we've had Republicans running the House and the Senate and Trump in the Oval Office.
They better not squander this chance they have to fulfill all those promises they've made over the last 8 years.
We definitely have to remember what ground we stand on, love, truth and justice. There's no place, intimately, for hate and unforgivness. Otherwise, we become like the satanists. Pray for the exposure, binding and judging of the fallen ones. Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves, then we are fit to enter the kingdom of God.
"You tried to destroy my family as well as @realDonaldTrump and his family along with our country…unforgivable.

Nobody is disputing the number 77.
We acknowledge your Bible reference material.
Jesus Christ tells us to love our enemies. Not to curse them.but to bless them. There are no exceptiins. Exactly my point. Jesus didn't hint at forgiveness for them.
I'm not sure what whacky Bibles you guys are reading, but in mine, Jesus talks about how people should always forgive others.
I don't see a list in there of people who are not allowed forgiveness.
I get that people don't like that, but I'm pretty sure the Bible isn't a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book. 🤷♀️
Sure we should.
What kind of nutcase thinks forgiveness is the same as being free from consequences of breaking the law?
What exactly do you think forgiveness means, biblically speaking?
Jesus just said to love and forgive everyone. He didn't break them down by what their sins were, as far as I'm aware.
Who did you buy your Bible from? You might want to get a refund.
Came to say similar thing.
Forgiveness doesnt exclude justice. I think he was speaking in that sense.
Well Flynn seems to be a devout Christian. He talks about his faith all the time, I mean a lot. So when a person like that says “I will never forgive”, it lessens his testimony. I think the forgiveness is inter personal. Matters of state must be adjudicated in this realm according to the rule of law.
As I explained yes.
Forgiveness is actually a benefit to the forgiver because it means they can move on. It doesn't mean the forgiven doesn't face consequences.
As I said. Correct, nowhere does it say the forgiven won’t face consequences. The whole discussion here is about one’s forgiveness for another. As God teaches us.
Say, where is Barack?

Where's Waldo?
Where's Hunter?

Well flynn is naming names. He went up a notch in my estimation.
Dog refuses treat from You know who ...
Flynn, you magnificent bastard! I read your book!
speaking of which, anybody seen the Obamas? Word was that they left the USA the day after the election and have not publicly responded to anyone.

forgiveness IS a virtue that's important to keep in mind; that being said, forgiving people is not contrary to justice (or just punishments)
Just hope they actually do something about it this time, and not just jibber jabber away about it.

Uh, yeah. They tried to off 85% of us, and drain kids of their blood while torturing them. Justice inbound.
