Just think of the money we will save by not having to pay for all of that stupid ass transitioning shit!!!. Not to mention the extreme value of getting that crap out of the military and turning a unit back into a cohesive team.
This guy is going to rock the fucking military when he starts firing mother fuckers. Good riddance to these old ass dogs who got comfy sitting on their asses playing barbie for the last 4 years.
My view won't be popular, but I'm not at all sure about this pick. Pete is a good guy and a great patriot. He saw combat and received awards. But - he was a mid-rank officer.
Don't get me wrong - I was enlisted and not some general. I know I wouldn't be able to waltz in and know my way around (politically) the puzzle palace even though I was stationed there for 5 years. For the other veterans on this board: when was the last time you saw a full bird colonel or a brigadier general picking up messages from the comm center or pushing a coffee cart down the hall to a meeting of 4-stars and service secretaries? Happens a lot at the Pentagon.
How many soldiers do you think Pete has ever been responsible for, or commanded? There are close to 3 million people in the DOD. Has he ever had to do anything with budgets, troop movements, meetings with heads of state or foreign ministers? Does he have any connections at all with anyone currently in high positions at the Pentagon? I know he isn't stupid, but he is inexperienced and is getting ready to be the "CEO" of the USA's largest and most consequential employer.
Consider this. Trump gave those idiots at the Pentagon an order to withdraw our troops from Syria, and they told him they did. They are still there - they just ignored the CIC. What do you think they will do to a SECDEF that was a major and is now on FNC?
Honestly I think he would be a great SECDEF in year 3 or 4, once someone like Admiral Rogers or even LtG Flynn went in and cleaned house. Pete doesn't know where the bodies are buried like those guys do. I believe very few of the leadership will accept him and most will work every day to undermine him. The deep state does that everywhere already.
BTW - I still like this pick better than Rubio for SoS. Rubio is a hawk and will (if the pick is real) be over the State Department - which includes the CIA. How many wars has the CIA gotten us in?
Think a little more about this pick before deciding it is a great pick. Pete would have been a great pick for the VA, or even the Deputy SECDEF if Trump really wanted to shoot for the stars. We are about to have a lot of turmoil in the DOD and I'm not sure Pete is ready to handle that level of a charlie foxtrot.
Pete is gonna fire those lazy ass political bitches. The fact he wasnt a general is the reason why hes the perfect choice. Obama fired Patriots and replaced them with political loyalists. Petes mandate is to undo this. The entire general staff needs to be remade and hiring a general to do so would be allowing the resistance a safe harbor.
Did you read Petes resume? Combat Infantrymans Badge. For real not just because he was in theater and he wanted one. Iraq and Afghanistan. Guantanamo Bay. Princeton and Harvard. Witnessing the last 8 years from inside the machine.
Yea, Ill take Pete over any of those fucks with "experience". Hes gonna do the work they would never do.
Often, experience means the person knows how to play the game. So this is a good point. I am anxious to see what happens and perfectly ok with being wrong. He is a great guy.
Sure I read his resume. He is a great guy and will do good at whatever he tries. I still think he would've been a better pick for the VA to get them back in shape while Rogers or Flynn shakes up DoD.
Trump had several SECDEFs last term. If he had the fixer(s) come in and clear the place out for a year, Pete would be the perfect guy to come in and rebuild it. He would have the respect of the people too (at least the military - civilians are overwhelmingly there for the paycheck).
There is something important that I believe everyone is overlooking. The person that comes in to fire all the ones that need fired and get rid of all the woke crap is going to be tied up in CONgress and the MSM, defending pretty much every major move he makes. He will have to split time between de-woking and putting out CONgressional and media fires. That's why business moguls have fixers (Trump had one too). The fixers take the heat while they do the job that needs to be done, and the next guy comes in and can start right away with the rebuild.
Your last 2 sentences in your reply actually fit with what I am saying. Everyone will hate the first guy (those fucks with experience), and Pete could come in to do the work they can't do.
I had to edit my above comment. I was wrong about him being enlisted. I saw that somewhere and thought it was correct. However- he retired as a major. He was definitely an officer.
That said - I still think he should be in charge of the VA (since he advocates for veterans already) or Deputy SECDEF until a "fixer" comes in and cleans house.
Also he would still be a better SECDEF than Austin - even though Austin was actually a (very woke) general.
I agree with this assessment. Perhaps his work as an investigative reporter has taught him a thing or two about buried bodies. We will know soon enough and so will Trump.
U underestimate what it takes to implement trumps plan. Trump needs willing men amd women, that's the first requirement. Secondly pete has plenty of what it takes intellectually. It's not the rocket science people make it out to be. Mostly a desire to do the right thing. One of the highest levels of responsibility I had I wasn't fully qualified for and I surrounded myself with good Men and the major changes needed took less than 90 days. From there we built which for any large organization it never stops. Pete's job will be no different. The real value is he gets it, he's been in the position to have said "i wish the leaders would do this". Now he can. I kept that position for 8 years and then put the guy I trained myself into that position. He is in his 3rd year. The place is running great still and growing with the times.
Pete could've had a year to fix the VA - which he would've been exceptional at - while Flynn or Rogers did the dirty work at DOD. Then Pete could come in as the next SECDEF and have the opportunity to rebuild 2 agencies during this term.
I actually caught a tear once I realized the gravity of this nomination. Everyone should watch the Shawn Ryan interview. I believe this was part of his selection. This was so everyone could know who he is.
I was only going to watch the first 10 min. 2.5 hours later......... AWESOME!!! And sounds like he already has people he trusts AND they are very knowledgeable in those areas, so he has an inner circle all ready to go! When I heard Elon to run DOGE I knew what Trump was going to do. It's exactly what he's doing now π put in people you trust who are experts in those areas and let them loose! Trump can concentrate on being President.
This guy is the dynamite. Listen to him speak
Yes! Pete is going to kick a$$ BIGLY!
Great video! Thanks u/bubble_bursts ππ»ππ»
He was powerful at CPAC. Pete is a Patriot Warrior! πͺπͺπ
His bio is impressive and his actions even more so. πΊπ²β€
That video clip was fantastic!
Dishonorable discharge for all the faggots and perverts day 1.
Bring back all the anti-vax holdouts with full back pay.
Fire the POS who were hired back in the VA by Biden

I agree with you. Trump should not pick someone already at the top of the ladder. THEY are the problem.

I'm not disagreeing that Pete can do the job. I'm saying he should've been the 2nd SECDEF.
I explained why I feel that way here: https://greatawakening.win/p/199hc08obp/x/c/4ZGSfpbPV9Y

I caught a few minutes of it that someone posted on X... excellent!.
This is a great nomination. The Republicans better approve this.
Hope so!
I can't believe he did this. OMG. Thank you President Trump!
Amazing choice. If you have 3 hours to kill, you can get to know him. Well worth the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoN5ovwB8s4
Compare Pete to lloyd austin. WOW! President Trump - another fine selection.
Austin isn't fit to shine Pete's boots.
Drain. The. Swamp.
I've been hearing this loud sucking noise ever since Trump won! We are going to see a Golden Age like we have never seen before!

Boom!
Excellent choice! ππΊπ²
AGREED!
PETE HEGSETH IS AN AMAZING PICK!
No permanent party relic rinos. Good.
YES!
Libs be salty on this one so ya know it was a good pick.
...and just as my Marine is starting the DD214 process. Wish he could have served under a better administration.
Can they fire that dude that wears a skirt?
