My gut says Libertarian voters will be satisfied with these moves and Libertarian politicians will be miserable.
Most Libertarian leaning politicians have based their whole political career on raging against an underfunded, overspending federal government. If President Trump solves the perpetual problems that get them elected, will they still get elected?

That was exactly my reading on Trump's TS post when I first saw it. I think he has been hinting at eliminating the IRS for a good while now.
I also look to see Trump eliminate the Federal Reserve Banking system that has corrupt control of the nation's economy for far to long. The Fed creates inflation and deflation to rob the people just like Thomas Jefferson predicted would happen more than two centuries ago.
"Little L" libertarians will be happy with the words, but those of us who have been burned by the political theater are taking a trust but verify approach with all this.
Ancaps will see it as a step towards the dream if it does go through, but keeping us happy would require soooo many changes to tax law and such levels of diversification of services that we probably won't be truly content for another 100-200 years if this track is followed continuously. But for me, I'll take what I can get when I get it.
This is turning out to be a beautiful thing. With narrow margins in Congress for some things, combined with the neutered MSM, people will see immediately who is responsible for holding up things that will benefit the country in obvious ways.

Yup, I was just being funny. I work as a security guard overnights to supplement my SS. Supervisor 73 works the day shift. I tease him about how they are going to shove a broom up his butt and make him clean the lobby of the office building we work in once the Wetbacks get sent packing. In Hotels with bars the bartenders often make big money and would pay me to dump garbage, mop behind bar, and vacuum the carpet. I fit it in with my security duties during the night. Free money really..
I bartend on the side for extra cash. No reason why in 2025 many of us who make a decent wage need to work additional jobs when 60-70 years a go you could be a security guard or bartender own a home, car and wife would stay home.
