It looked like there was a fight on the plane, and a terrorist tried to take it down, and it was herky/jerky and slow and finally landed, but the flight path looks like it was a crash and the plane is off the runway somewhere else.

I just went outside to watch during it's approach over NoVa. Exterior lights were all lit. Great times.
Awesome. I was in NOVA under the flight path of 04 Jul 2017. B2, B1, F117, warbirds, AF1, was all directly over our house. We lived exactly 20 miles from WH due south at one of the air gates ringing the ADIZ over DC. Also entry gate for approaches into Davison AAF (Ft. Belvoir) - saw lots of interesting planes come and go.

Hi Blacksmith, I'm still in the DC area after moving here for work back in the 2000's. I sometimes watch the flights overhead going into Dulles or DCA. I've definitely enjoyed reading your comments about DC and other stuff. Interesting link; When I worked in DC a few years ago, I remember lots of military helicopters flying along the Potomac river at a few hundred feet. Makes you wonder what kind of stuff they are seeing.
Hey Fren. Yeah, I've had the Black Hawks fly over me at 200' on 395NB heading into DC. What's cool is when you see the gold top helos (DOE) flying nap of earth down the Potomac practicing/actual nuke sniffing missions.
Interesting it followed the coastline. Are they not allowed to fly over open ocean?
OK - the flight is taking a strange pattern over Poolesville. Not a normal approach to AAFB. And just hooked left over VA. I've never seen an approach like this.

If you scroll in it looks like they were going to land at AAFB and at the last minute hooked a right turn and headed back at the 10 oclock direction. ADS says the plane is at 500 ft and moving at 126 kt, headed in a direction away from AAFB.
