He was never in the drug business. He made a commerce website.
It's the same logic used to go after the gun manufacturers.
The gun you manufactured was involved in X crime, so now we're going to prosecute you.
If logic like this is allowed to become the accepted logic/"settled precedent", then there is not a man or woman in the USA that is free from being put in prison for the rest of their lives at any moment, and no products or services will be offered for sale.

His situation with Silk Road was likely entrapment by the Feds. FBI/CIA do not tolerate any competition for anything, especially if it is decentralized. They allowed Silk Road to operate as a honeypot to gather surveillance on Libertarian-minded people using decentralized commerce and then intentionally BLEW IT up when it became too strong of a competitor. Reasonable probability that Bezos was involved in the setup and takedown as he has been doing with other public company competition. Bezos is an intel asset just like CEOs of Google and Microsoft.
