And why should we get rid of FEMA? Because they have shown their incompetence the last 4 years. Incompetence on steroids. It's almost like they wanted to show how incompetent they are, so they could be done away with. ;O)

But it's the incompetence that will stick in the minds of the citizens. Now they can say, "You know, FEMA really has done a terrible job." 10 years ago the thought of abolishing FEMA would have drawn out daggers. Now, it will be accepted.
The idea of abolishing FEMA would have been cheered on years prior to that by the victims of hurricanes Katrina, and Rita, and so many other disasters.
FEMA has long been despised by many who had no voice to be heard. Fortunately our president hears the unheard and, cares.

My son was forced by his college to give his information to FEMA. He received a couple of thousand for living expenses due to his dorm and college being shut due to the hurricane. Then, FEMA said he had to pay ALL of the money back. He had prepaid for the dorm room with food plan which was unusable. He had to move and could not work or attend school.
I DESPISE FEMA!!! I lost my property from Katrina and FEMA taking years to do anything

FEMA is a reflection of the entire Federal Government. They don't show up for work. It's a massive grift of our taxes. Better to put disaster relief in the hands of the State and their National Guard. If additional help is needed, additional National Guard units can be brought in. The Corps of Engineers can help if asked to install temporary bridges, repair dams, roads, etc Same goes for the Red Cross. They are a big money laundering network. Maybe at some local level they help but don't donate to the International Red Cross. Better to give to Brothers Brother Foundation or Samaritans Purse.

I'm guessing like all other agencies, they mismanage or outright steal their funds. Or, are they giving all of their money to illegal aliens. In the south, after the floods, they would not let citizens in to help neighbors with tractors, earth movers etc. The reason for that is they are in contract with service providers/cotracters they use and will let no one else help. Who do you suppose get those contracts? And what do they charge? And does any of that money make it back into someone's pocket. It's the same grift, different game.

FEMA gave me the creeps when they invented it. It was unnecessary, overarching, and vulnerable to draconian control operations. And I was a Democrat at the time.

We were warned many times over the years that the average God fearing, Constitution loving, patriots are regarded as "useless eaters". If you are not in their club, then, that is their mindset towards us. So when we witness Laheina fires and missing children, Las Vegas fires, Ruidosa NM fires, last year's Maibu fires, tbis year's Malibu fires, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina w and Los Angeleseather war disaster, followed by another Florida weather war disaster and a whole lot more. In every one of these instances FEMA set up shop, declared hazardous conditions, which denied city and county services to access the area with normal services, like water, naturalgas,, sewage, garbage dispoal, and cable. So, the people in the disaster area have only one option-FEMA overlords from. D.C. They then do what they now do best. Deceive, Distract and Destroy.
The are culliing the herd right in front of our faces. My point in all this is two fold-1) The people in these disasters over the last few years as americans deserve better and we as fellow patriots can do more. We need to right these wrongs.

Having worked for a local governmental entity it was my experience that of all the agencies from which grants could be applied for the FEMA process was the slowest despite the fact they were responding to an emergency. Second would be USDA, IMO. They add delay to the process and, as FEMA has demonstrated, can insert bias into the process.
Trump was correct while in CA; those people don't have patience for a week. . .and definitely 18 months! MAGA!
