The firings are real!

I work at a large woke corporation. Yesterday I was in a team meeting. There's this one woman that is a huge Trump hater. During our meeting she was almost in tears as she told us what happened.
"Trump just fired 2000 IRS employees that are working in the local IRS building. (sobbing up) I have a friend that worked there and she was among those that were fired!"
Just found it somewhat interesting to hear a real life local story about actual government lay offs, rather than something that you read about in the news, that you wonder if it's real.
First thing that come to mind is Penn State
I think it's more like any university with University in its name. Haha
... and the name "Hillsdale" isn't.
Hillsdale doesn’t take any money from the government.
That must be Yale with their Skull and Bones nutjobs.
Oberlin?
I sympathize with the individual stories. I could definitely see getting a job when I was young paying way above the value I offered with 100% job security and getting real, real comfortable.
Now, Trump is taking that away and all my overpaid friends are going to be looking for the same few jobs I’ll be trying to get.
Sucks for them. But, frankly I’m tired of paying their salaries and never would have started if it were up to me.
So, long run will be better for everyone.
who knows how many of these remote workers was even lifting a finger to do anything in the last 4 years. Many are probably ghost employees. Many are probably working in other jobs.
I tried to call the irs office about a question I had. Took forever and the dude didn’t know the answer and was super defensive and rude when I questioned him about the answer. Frankly, he sounded like a moron know it all.
Fuck the IRS and all their employees. All
I’ve had to call the IRS in the past and it gave me so much anxiety I hope I never have to experience it again. I spoke to 2 different people and both were so condescending and rude. They sounded very inconvenienced by my call. I’m pretty sure that’s part of their training.
Yup. Layoffs suck, but the pain had been delayed for so long already that now it hurts even more. But most of them will have way better layoff terms than normal people in private sector jobs. Has to be done.
I don’t. Fire them all, then reinterview them based on merit.
Also make their unions illegal.
F**k the IRS and the gravy train it rode in on.
There are many legitimate sad stories. Here's what most do not get. I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR THEIR JOB. Find some other source to fund it, NOT taxpayers.
Good.
So? When all the companies moved to China during the Obama era and almost half the country were laid off nobody said anything about Obama. In fact, Obama said there was nothing he could do about it. When the Dems pulled out their Bat Flu to cheat in the election and people lost their lives and livelihood nobody complained either. but when it comes to Trump, he could have laid off TEN people and I bet your Trump hating colleague would say one of those 10 people is her cousin! :D
Obama told us to get used to the decline
Learn to code was their smug mantra.
Well too bad you let the Indians take those jobs, so pick fruit.
I don’t recall nearly this much hoopla when Biden shut down the keystone XL pipeline project causing the direct and indirect loss of a tremendous number of jobs. AND made the USA more vulnerable to foreign fuel supplies.

The jobs of the plebs don’t count. Only the better-than-us workers.
The only thing that garners some sympathy from me is vets tend to get priority for fed jobs. So it's possible a few deserving vets got screwed while changing jobs and that sucks. I don't know what percentage that is and maybe the administration can prioritize finding new positions for those people when the dust clears.
I know I'll catch a lot of flak for this, but there are a lot of vets that are not useful and are used to not doing much but expect everything to be given to them. I have a "vet" neighbor and am absolutely mystified how they ever made it through boot camp, let alone are still alive in the civilian world.
I know many actual vets and give them all the respect that they deserve for their service to our country.
The hydroelectric dams are getting hit. This is one place I REALLY hope they weigh the risk vs reward. If you see the Russian dams unit spin out of control and a couple of gate control losses.....the risk is pretty high for the few employees they have. I'd leave the guys in gloves alone and work on the 14 layers of management they answer to
I’m confused, aren’t any dams in the U.S. under the states authority where they are located? Why would any dam employees be losing jobs under federal employee reductions?
TVA, Bureau of reclamation, Army Corps of Engineers....they all have dams. Hoover. Grand coulee all the way to the ocean the Columbia and snake rivers. TVA has 49 dams. Bor has 400 and some. The Corps have over 700.
Fed nin-cum-poops call themselves civil servants which is an insult to every last one of us who work a job every day without the perks and lazyass schedules they whine about daily.
Fire all DEI, obese, LBGTQ, liberal brain worm-infested, a'hole and get them off fed payrolls and off our backs. Private industry might hire them, but most have no real skills. On full display at: https://www.reddit.com/r/fednews/
Dang, I wish I could fire somebody. Trump gets to have all the fun.

Thank GOD
Did you give her a thumbs 👍 up and a big smile? Too soon?
Yep! Just talked with someone here in Ohio who has been in the hiring process for the FBI for the last year and was set to start next month. She was given notice that there is a hiring freeze and no future date of when she will be able to start her job.
Fuck’em
Imagine being upset that the irs is being gutted
i have no sympathy for them at all. they cheered as under-educated men that worked in steel mills, coal mines, car factories, etc all lost their jobs.
where do you look for work when you are in your mid to late 50's and all that you know is gone? super F these people.
they at least have their super duper expensive piece of paper they can show off in their interviews.
Wow ! What a great comment ! Heartbreaking because it’s 100 percent truth ! People need to shut the Fk up about all these goverment milkers and have compassion for those who truly deserved it !
thank you NSB. i'll never forget the attitude of those government workers when those men lost everything.
XL pipeline workers
Now they can pursue roles that are actually productive for society instead of tax collection for the cabal
Luckily for all these ex-government employees, the world needs a lot more TikTok influencers to spout their bullshit. Pay is great. Start tomorrow.
Who was leading the team meeting, why was that gibberish idiot told to shut it and get back on task.
ANYONE WITH GENUINE JOB SKILLS DOES NOT HAVE TROUBLE FINDING WORK!!!
Canadian information IRL. Slow clap. 👏
Does she escort them crying to the local unemployment office like so many others have done over the years? Unemployment is going to be busy. They should get together a task force to go to each locale and sign people up. It will alleviate a lot of the fear and tension. That is not really necessary to make people so terrified. These are your friends and neighbors and we should be compassionate.
