About 15-20 years ago, I remember a Washington Post article ( back when the journalists actually investigated) and they did exactly that. They used an Amish community and only found 3 cases of Autism at that time. I think the community was over 100,000 people. Of the 3 cases, one was an adopted child from a foreign country, one was vaccinated against the father's wishes, but the ex wife had the kid vaccinated anyway, and the third one didn't have any known " other factors" . The assumption was that the adopted baby was probably vaccinated before being brought here. It was an interesting article. It certainly contradicted the supposed "Numbers" of naturally occurring Autism cases in the US. That amounted to 3 in 100,000. They are citing between 45-100 per 10,000 in the US and some other countries. Hmmmmm. They seem to be desperate to destroy this excellent control group.

If the people are so concerned that vaccinations work, then why do they want EVERYONE to get them? Let the people who want to risk getting some illness because they don't want to get some vaccination do it! I got into an argument with some medical doctor during covid and said, "Since covid is only a risk to the elderly and people with compromised immune systems, why not just have them get the covid shots?" She said, "That's not how pandemics work!" (or some such garbage)

Managing odds is the same BS reason they use to justify speeding tickets, currently.
There is something to be said for people in an area being able to limit behaviors in their areas, but doing it by a federally pushed speed limit/speed trap method of confiscating real property based on increased odds is a poor method.
IMHO, if speed limits should be a thing, cars should require a speed governor in order to be on public roads, and whoever has property right by the roads, in combination with who pays for the road construction and maintenance, should get to set the limiter for their area.
This has been something we probably could have done since the 80’s or 90’s, but those speed traps are just such nice revenue streams..
One thing we probably need to teach people is how to split up thinking about things in terms of goals, strategy, and tactics.
With conflicting goals, compromise has to be found if it can be, but otherwise there is just conflict.
With strategy and tactics, there is no need to find compromise, but people need to understand that they don’t necessarily lose just because their tactic isn’t adopted.
