I haven't seen footage yet, so I can't say this with any certainty, but I think the reason the neck was aimed for was because the shooter was using a .22 LR. Possibly a survival rifle of some kind, that can be quickly and easily broken down for concealment.

I do find it hard to believe that a professional hit would have taken such a visible route. 200 yards is nothing for a professional.

Its a simple shot. Ive done it many times hunting elk and deer. But the average joe would not have set this up and gotten away. The clue is the guy is in the wind. Usually they leave a dead patsy like you say. But that shot would not be difficult for anybody with a little training and the right gear.
So yeah, still a professional hit? Ill accept a coordinated one but I still have serious doubts about a "professional" that aims for the neck.

I am very much curious about the apparent lack of exit wound. There could be explanations but id like to know why.

The large entrance wound visible in the video indicates a larger caliber high power round such as .308.
But larger rounds like that carry such tremendous kinetic energy they will generally exit the other side. Especially penetrating a target as thin as a human neck.
I do know they make hollow point rounds. And for those unfamiliar with firearms, hollow point bullets expand out so that they both make a larger wound, as well as dumping the bullets energy faster so it doesn’t penetrate as deeply as a regular bullet. But again, you’d think a high caliber bullet penetrating something as thin as a human neck would probably exit out the back even with a hollow point?

Certainly the spurting of blood out the jugular looked significant. So either it was an incredibly well placed shot by a professional, or it was some special effects.
The fact that this guy is saying we don’t know who the shooter is, while earlier in the day they showed a photo of a white guy they apprehended and then reported as a registered Democrat who was questioned and then released - in the fog of war it is hard to know what is true. But the multiple conflicting reports make it difficult to suss out the truth.
