On my Orders, the Secretary of War ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking illicit narcotics, and was transiting along a known narcotrafficking passage enroute to poison Americans. Love watching these, this should have been taking place back in the 80's... How many millions of lives have been destroyed by drugs, and not just the addicts?
I would be more impressed if he also did strikes on drug boats coming out of other counties like Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala. . . .
Aside from people on boards like GAW, I wonder what % of people actually understand the true purpose of the cartels as well as the actual scope of their power and influence.
I must confess, I'm a little bit surprised that after the President designated them as military targets and the subsequent engagement of the military to destroy them, we haven't had any moments (that I'm aware of) where there's been an effort to educate the American people as to the cartels' level of influence and organizations they have ties with.
We are in the midst of a Great Awakening and showing the citizenry what these cartels are all about should be a part of that, IMHO. But I assume there's a reason for education not accompanying the military strikes.
So, as American drones are watching the Gulf for go-fast drug boats, who's to say the cartels are not moving distribution channels inland or to other sources of transportation? They might be sending the drugs on a longer sea route, say through Africa, yet it has the same result ... drugs get into America. All President Trump is doing forcing the cartels to widen their avenues of transportation. POTUS will have to enact a EO stating all cartels and ANYONE associated with drug running will be dealt with in a permanent way.
I think POTUS' strategy here is two-fold. 1. Drone the bad guys and 2. he has the intel (MI) to know what they are up to. He's telling them that we know where you are, and we will destroy you. He's also doing what he's done all along - given them every possible chance to stop doing the bad stuff and when you don't, you're getting droned.
