I think this is wishful thinking unfortunately. Too many people won't be able to afford to resist.

Not a single American would put up with this, regardless of Trump. I'm 54 years old, and I'm not sure about younger generations, but we were taught to resist tyranny through culture, TV, school.
We were all taught that the reason for the 2nd amendment is primarily to put a bullet in the head of government officials enforcing tyranny.
Even without Trump, if thousands of people were going to jail for posting memes online, there would be bloodshed.

I am a person who resists more than anyone. I still have a paper driving licence with no photo and an address 30 years out of date on it, but with family in tow you even I didnt want to wait an extra 3 hour in an airport queue.
