I'm once again down really sick with whatever disgusting virus is going around. Started with a really sore throat, then transitioned to body aches, chills, weakness, and finally a fever. I'm doing a little better, but feel horribly weak and can't speak because of how sore my throat is.
I was sick with almost the exact same illness back in August, and it clung on for over 2 weeks! I had some Ivermectin at the time (I'm out now), and took 12 mg every 6 hours. I wasn't getting better, so I upped the dosage to 24-36mg every 6 hours. Still no better. I was already taking vitamin C, vitamin D3, and zinc. I was chugging fluids like crazy, resting/sleeping/napping for over 14 hours each day, and eating what I could handle.
What was I doing wrong? Was the Ivermectin I got no good? I can't remember the online company it came from, but the product itself was from India. Was that not a good country to buy it from? Is Ivermectin no good for simple colds? What Ivermectin products have worked for you? Because I'm at my wits end and can't be laying around sick for 2 weeks every 2 months.
Prayers and any advice is much appreciated! 🙏
Ivermectin is not an ionophore. You want a good zinc ionophore to make that zinc effective. Quercetin is a good over the counter one, and relatively safe for almost everyone. So you're missing the ionophore half of the zinc/ionophore combo.
Look into Eleutherococcus senticosus root, Astragalus membranaceus root, and Cordyceps sinensis fungus. There's a lot of info out there on how adaptogenic herbs like those can support the immune system. The more you go down the rabbit hole on those the crazier it gets.
Try getting some Eleutherococcus root tincture or capsules from your local health food or supplement supply store, I've been taking it for 10 years and it works really well.
Not only does it give you more energy, mental clarity, and physical endurance in general, but it also does a lot to reduce the chills/hot flashes, sweating, aches, fatigue, and general malaise that you get when sick.
Ivermectin is good for some things, but it's not my first choice here.
Eleutherococcus root, zinc/quercetin, along with vitamins C and D were what got me through the pandemic without getting covid at all.
Pretty sure ivermectin is a zinc ionophore.
I believe you are thinking of Hydroxychloroquine. HCQ is a similar antiparasitic like Ivermectin, but its chemistry is different and definitely is an ionophore.
Ivermectin is not a zinc ionophore. It cannot carry zinc into past the cell wall. Quercetin and HCQ have the correct chemistry to carry zinc past the cell wall.
Curcumin also
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7680693/#:~:text=Curcumin%20acts%20as%20natural%20zinc%20ionophores%20and%20can%20promote%20the%20cellular%20uptake%20of%20zinc%20and%20can%20be%20used%20with%20zinc%20to%20increase%20the%20effectiveness%20of%20these%20compounds%20in%20the%20inhibition%20of%20the%20virus.
It's inconclusive. NIH studies speculate whether or not ivermectin is a zinc ionophore but they don't know. They haven't proven it experimentally, but they speculate it is an ionophore based on observations of its effectiveness against viruses. This article puts forth speculations on ivermectin's antiviral mechanisms of action
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7251046/
Mechanism is a lot less clear for ivermectin and it's still under study. They "kinda sorta think it is" because it "displays some properties similar to" a zinc ionophore. The whole mechanism of action is different. I'm not saying it can't be helpful. It's just not helpful BECAUSE it's a zinc ionophore.
CigarTsar, there are some articles that say so and others that say IVM has some of the properties of an ionophore. It works well for me. IVM is a great anti- inflammatory for arthritis! https://www.twc.health/blogs/news/ivermectin-new-hope-arthritis
Good advice. You can also try much higher doses of vitamin C, up to bowel tolerance, which can be as large as 40 grams a day. I'd also recommend black seed oil.
I think the real question is, what is causing the immunity issues? At least that is what the question sounded like to me. There are hundreds of things that can help with a sickness, but the immunity is the issue. Something else is probably out of balance. OP, have you tried MMS/DMSO? Also, COPPER. It's possible you need to clean house, fix some deficiencies, and then you may not have to even deal with colds in the first place.

Consider that your immune system is in overdrive, which will make it attack you, as well as the virus or bacteria. If it is bacterial, you will need antibiotics, not the best choice, but effective. To quiet the immune system, which produces Mast Cells, you have to stop triggering the Mast Cells, Mast cells fight infection, but they can go crazy, and when they do, they release toxins, histamines, the result is out of control inflammation, Mast cells line our GI tract, our respiratory system, and our skin. If they become unregulated they cause problems that also effect the nervous systems. What can help? Class 2 antihistamines like Pepcid AC, Claritin, or Allegra. I take both, consider a low histamine diet, which is a drag, but it works. Using Ibuprofen too much is a Mast Cell trigger, and can end in IBS. Gluten and wheat cause inflammation, and the histamines go crazy again. And get your throat checked for Strep. Untreated infections that fester can also trigger mast cell reactions, as do vaccines, histamines, mold, alcohol, fermented products. The Ivermectin is most likely keeping you from getting sicker, but you probably have to make some systemic changes. And keep praying, stay away from sick people, wash your hands and your fresh foods, and do not eat pre prepared foods like sandwiches at gas stations, pre made salads in bags, or mass produced potato salads, chicken salads, etc. Get well in Jesus's name, HE is the great physician, healer, and has you in HIS hands.
I have never taken Ivermectin or most other drugs. I rarely get sick I can count on one hand the amount of times in my life I have been sick and I just turned 69.
I found rather than medicine that you wash your hands a lot. Almost all viruses are spread through door nobs and other things you touch every day.
I have always accredited this for hardly ever being sick.
No doctor here, but I'd recommend a HEAVY dose of natural Vitamin C. Oranges/orange juice. Apples/apple juice. Strawberries, etc.
It's cliche, but an "apple a day keeps the doctor away" seems to work for my family. Whenever we're experiencing symptoms such as yours, we eat apples with every meal and drink apple juice and orange juice like crazy. Lots of water too.
Hope you feel better asap!
I've been drinking orange juice like there's no tomorrow!
Thanks!
Throw in some oil of oregano, whenever we feel anything come on we take it. Its a natural antibiotic
This is your problem; you are stuffing yourself with fructose.
If you look more to Eric Berg on Youtube, he will have som great tips for you, but it is a hard reality check for some.
Yes, I avoid orange juice. I take pure ascorbic acid (1 gram) in water, twice daily, with just a touch of apple juice to make it palatable. If ill, I take more (up to the point of tolerance - no diarrhea).
Ascorbic acid is also not good, fren.
It is not real vit-c complex, but just the outer "shell". And since it is not a full complex if you have lov levels of vit-c in your body already, ascorbic acid will make it worse by the body taking the rest of the complex from other remaining vit-c storage to complete the ascorbic structure leaving the user with vit-c deficiency.
https://youtu.be/DnvnKnu7YBI
Btw: Did you know though, that red, green and yellow paprika has higher vit-c density than an orange? And if you cut it in slices, it is a very nice snack.
It tastes good
Better than OJ would be to boil lemon and grapefruit peel and drink it like a tea. The peel has a larger dose of vitC and antioxidants.
Did you take the jabs ?
No way.
Try the Zelenko Protocol. I don't know how to put a picture in comments. Ill do a post.
what's funny is Zelenko got his protocol from us here on this board because he was here when he was alive. RIP
For sore throats, gargle with warm salt water, as salty as you can take. It will restore your throat back to a healthy state pronto. I learned this a long time ago from the director of a touring choir, and it works.
I have since learned some science behind the remedy, and that electrolytes (i.e. minerals, i.e. salts) are essential to good health. I have been including hefty amounts of sea salt in my diet for about 2 years and haven't been sick even once since starting that practice.
FWIW, ivermectin didn't help me when I got covid (or whatever) back in 2021.
Try taking L-Lysine - I've been taking it since 2021 and haven't gotten sick once. I saw a study that showed something like 90% of nurses who took it stayed healthy. It prevents viruses from replicating!
Here is a great combination, I add B~12 of 6,000 mcg. I have not been sick since 2021. https://greatawakening.win/p/1ARJczrw2b/for-valleylily-or-anyone-else-wh/c/
Prayers on the way.
I dont know if ivermectin works against regular colds.
It's good for parasites but it is not a zinc ionophore, so not really recommended to combat the spike proteins in a virus.
Dear valley-lily, your description of 'it started with a really sore throat' makes me think these infections begin in your sinus. Generally one's throat gets sore due to post-nasal drip of infected sinus mucus into the back of the throat.
You probably had a bit of the sniffles or a little runny nose that preceded the sore throat, which then began the downward spiral of full-body sickness because you were unable to remove the offending antagonist.
If so, I might have an answer for how to solve this.
(Warning: Long comment ahead. Worth reading it all, though!)
MANY THINGS ARE A FACTOR, BUT LET'S TAKE THEM IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE
Let me paint the picture. When we breathe, sometimes we inhale tiny particles of a foreign body, dust, dirt, dander, smoke, chemicals, pollen or similar. A good working sinus will trap the microscopic particle(s) in the mucous membrane of the nose and throat to keep it from entering the body further. That is normal. Then it tries to push it out in various ways.
Sneezing is one. Coughing is another. Ramped up mucous production to surround it like a pearl and flush it out via runny nose is the next.
Sometimes the particle gets deeply trapped in the soft tissues of the back of the throat or deep in the sinus and the above methods cannot get it out.
Constant post-nasal drip is a symptom of a trapped foreign antagonist.
So, inflammation and infection follow, sort of like having an imbedded splinter. There will be pus, there will be redness, swelling and pain. You must 'get the splinter out' to stop all of this.
Additionally, you might have tonsil stones stuck back behind your lower molars. These can cause infection, pain and bad breath until removed. If you have the sensation of something in the back of your throat and suffer from bad breath, this may be the problem. (Look them up to learn more about them and how to remove them.)
NOW. WHAT TO DO ABOUT A SINUS THAT NEEDS HELP.
You must do a Neti pot sinus rinse at least once or twice a day until further notice. YOU MUST USE DISTILLED WATER. Distilled water is water with all minerals removed. It is sterile and 'unbalanced' and will seek to balance itself. It will literally pull particles out of the mucous membrane into itself. The salt and baking soda in the rinse will clean, deodorize and neutralize an inflamed sinus and throat.
Doing a sinus rinse in the morning as soon as you wake up and once again before bed will be very helpful. The rinse will also soften dried junk stuck up in your sinuses and pull the gunk out, freeing your membranes at last.
After you have a good Neti pot sinus rinse, follow with a good nose blow and then use Q-tips to swab out the inside of the nose, as far back as you can. You want to grab and pull out anything in there that has been loosened up. Then wash your face and wash your hands.
Remember DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Tap has bacteria in it that our stomachs can handle, but not the upper sinus. YOU MUST USE DISTILLED.
You can make your own solution with 1/4 tsp of baking soda and 1/4 tsp of sea salt in 4 oz of distilled water. Use a store-bought Neti pot or use a gravy boat, gravy strainer or creamer cup with spout. As long as it has a spout it will work.
MORE THINGS THAT MAY BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR
DENTAL HYGIENE
Floss, brush and rinse 2x day. After your Neti pot sinus rinse, fill a cup with some warm water with baking soda and salt and do a mouth rinse and spit. Do it until the whole cup of salty water is used. It will kill germs, neutralize an acid mouth, whiten your teeth and freshen your breath!
TOOTHBRUSH & RETAINER CLEANING
Soak your toothbrushes and retainers in Peroxide after every use. Make sure you are not storing them out where they are exposed to bathroom germs like on the sink. Put them in a medicine cabinet so the toilet flush aerosols aren't getting on them. And better yet, go buy a 4-pack of soft bristled toothbrushes and throw them out after using for 30 days. Soak retainers in denture cleaner to remove bacteria and gunk.
CONTACT LENS WEARING
If you wear contacts, you must clean your storage case thoroughly or, you may be bringing bacteria into your body via your eyes. Again, don't leave the case out where toilet flush aerosols can get on it!
HAND WASHING
I recommend washing hands as soon as you walk in from outside, after you put away groceries, after petting the dog, after scratching yourself, after using the bathroom, after blowing your nose, before and after preparing or eating food, etc. You can almost never wash your hands 'too much'!
CELL PHONE, MOUSE, KEYBOARD, KEYS, STEERING WHEEL, FRONT DOOR HANDLE
I buy a bunch of bottles of 50% Isopropyl Alcohol and these round, flat cotton pads. I use these to regularly wipe down all parts of my cell phone, keys, mouse, keyboard and steering wheel. You'd be surprised how much 'foreign bacteria' we bring into our homes by simply laying our phones on the counter of the doctor's office, grocery store, cafeteria table, etc. Our hands touch filthy stair rails, grocery carts, doorknobs, table tops, etc. We then transfer the germs to our phones, keys, face, etc.
Nip this in the bud by wiping stuff down as a regular thing. Your health will thank you.
I hope this helps!
Tonsil stones/tonsilliths are definitely a thing. Block up eustacean tubes and make you feel crappy. Crazy but they’re a thing.
Another remedy for sinus crap is saline spray. I get the cheap grocery store brand and use it whenever I’m getting stuffed up. Amazing that it’s only a few minutes and I’m breathing better.
Mullein helps with upper respiratory congestion and post nasal snot build up.
Can also put a few drops of colloidal silver in the neti
I don't know, but you could try it!
No i meant you can put some in there. Sorry for my weird wording
+1 for neti pot. Pretty much instant results for sinus issues and it can help reduce viral load if you are sick, which quickens your recovery time.
Quercetin, Zink, vitamin D, and vitamin C.
Death Metal said it well, but I will repeat, Quercetin and zinc, plus high dose vitamin C&D. Or even better Hydroxychloroquine and zinc. I think HCQ can carry something like 10x more zinc than quercetin.
Zinc cannot get into the cell or past the cell walls without an ionophore. Quercetin or HCQ, encapsulates the zinc and carries the zinc into the cell (past the cell wall) where the zinc can do its job stopping the spike protein replication.
Zinc alone is ineffective; Quercetin alone is ineffective. But used in combination, they keep the spike protein from being able to replicate. Vitamin C and D are also crucial for the complete immune system response.
Your car can have fuel and oil but without water in the radiator driving the car is catastrophic. Your body needs all the components just like an engine, not 2 of 3.
EGCG is 2x more effective than quercetin as a zinc ionophore (hcq 2x better than egcg and 4x better than quercetin). But not recommended for long term use, can cause liver issues with high dose or overuse
Zinc (the virus killer) and Quercetin (the ionophore that gets Zn into the cells) has always worked for me. But take them as soon as you feel the cold coming on or it will be too late. For me, the symptoms always vanish within a day.
An immune system boost can be had by supplementing iodine and selenium. The thyroid makes T4 and T3 hormones from iodine; selenium regulates the process. From a dietary point, this can be accomplished by eating more beef for iodine and Brazil nuts for selenium (also available as supplements). Easy to do if you eat keto. The typical American diet no longer provides enough iodine for the thyroid to produce high quality hormones, largely due to an industry-wide switch to using bromide as an additive to make bread soft and fluffy rather than iodine. When the iodine receptors in the thyroid can't find iodine, they grab closely related halides (such as bromide) and make a poorer quality of these important hormones.
Agree with the need for a zinc ionopore. I use quercetin, but would use quinine if Clinton hadn't blocked it from being over the counter. Hydroxychloriquine is probably more expensive than quercetin; however it is made from methylene blue which is inexpensive and readily available; I regularly will drink a few drops in a glass of lemon water. Haven't been ill since 2019, just bad knees. Knocking on wood now!
Whatever you do, work out your dosing as carefully as possible. I had labs run recently prior to another knee surgery, they showed I was supplementing too much D3. I've cut cut it back and added more time in sunshine.
Lots of good info in this thread. I'm saving it for future reference!
Check out Strep Throat! You'll need Anti Biotics if it is!
No it's not strep, I've had that dozens of times, mostly when I was younger, and this isn't the same. Pretty sure it's just the next virus to go around, but it still sucks. Really wish I could have some penicillin though!
If you think it's bacterial, try oregano essential oil. It's more effective than any antibiotic out there. Look it up...but basically you can put a drop or two with olive oil in a capsule to take. (DON"T TAKE IT BY ITSELF. It needs to be diluted.) If it's viral, there's many essential oils with anti-viral properties, including the ones listed by 5dchesswatch. Clove essential oil is powerful. Even sucking on a clove would help.
You can also find it a caplet form good stuff
I only have ground cloves right now. Could I sprinkle some of that in some hot tea? Would that be useful at all?
Give it a try! I bet it would help some. Here's a link to Dr. Axe's page on clove use. https://draxe.com/nutrition/cloves-benefits/ He has a lot of good info within his website. Prayers for healing!
What's your vitamin D3 blood level? Mine was 21 ng/ml when I got "covid". I've been taking weekly cholecalciferol 25,000 IU to get it up to my target of 70 ng/ml. As someone else posted, it MUST be taken with magnesium, K2 and C. I also take zinc and other stuff but it's most important to maintain your vitamin D3 level if you want to avoid infections.
Haven't check it in some months, but it was finally normal and stable. It had been very low for years, and I've been taking 5,000 IU daily. I could probably take more but 5,000 seems to keep it stable without spiking it.
As long as "stable" means above 50 ng/ml and preferably 70.
(I'm currently at 49 and working on it.)
Yes it was around 70 last I checked.
I had that a couple years ago,and just went to one of those quick clinics. They fixed me up in a few hours.
I had the same symptoms with flu like feelings and a very sore throat, and it was Strep Throat.
Antibiotics is the way, those quick clinics are great, much easier to get an appointment than my regular doctor.
Go to one and give us an update!
I did last year, made an appointment online, showed up and waited 20 minutes and 10 minutes latter had a prescription.
Very handy if you have one close.
Colloidal Silver and GSE bud
Try hydroxychloroquine. Cardio Miracle helps too :) All healing blessings your way, fren!
You must take zinc with ivermectin.
Think of ivermectin as a gun and zinc as the bullet.
When I start to feel sick, I take 12mg ivermectin with a 50mg zinc pill for a few days. Wipes out the flu/cold bug fast. You should start to feel better after first dose.
I buy my ivermectin from reynold meds. Comes from India, but it's fresh and seems to works great.
You will pay via PayPal, but legit.
What are your vitamin d levels at? I keep mine just above the recommended limit.
Mine are stable.
Ivermectin is good for parasites and engineered bioweapons. For everything else you need to research what treatments work for what ails you.
However, I am not knowledgeable about medicine, even if I'm really sick I'll just take honey drops and melatonin and sleep it off.
Assumption is it is a virus and not many other issues. Try a heavy metal detox with zeolite and check for yeast infections. Is your tongue coated in the morning?does it have scalloped edges? Liver? Exposure to lime disease? See naturopathic doc. You could try beefing up your immune system by eating beef. Take time to track food and see if it’s something you ate out of the ordinary. Or just do an elimination diet aka carnivore. You are what you eat. Most nutrition comes from eggs beef, bison - meat not from plants. If you eat too little protein and fat your body cannot fight and/or repair.
Might want to check out this drug I found for my intractable GI issues (believe it was a norovirus) that I ordered online from one of these telehealth places (sorry, can't remember which one)
Nitazoxanide, it's another one of these ivermectin / fenben type anti parasitics that have anti viral and antibiotic properties across a wide spectrum
You might want to post your entire intake, exposures, and daily routine for review. e.g. I saw you're drinking OJ, but e.g. is it good OJ or an "orange drink" is an important distinction.
Maybe try making a big shift and see if it isolates a factor we're missing. For example, set up at a friend's house for a week. Have them cook for you. Drink their water. Use their natural space. See if you notice any differences.
Quercetin is the only thing I'd consider adding to your mix.
It's good OJ, with calcium and vitamin D and the pulp.
I'm definitely looking into quercetin now!
Depends on you diet. If it is filled with carbs, no pill will help you.
I need to keep to an autoimmune diet, so any carbs I do get is from whole foods like fruits or veggies, but not much. I eat a lot of meat.
Interesting. I'm the same. I strongly suggest trying HCQ. It helped to fix my IBS and leaky gut, together with diet. I started with 200 mg twice daily but now only one tablet a week.
Browsing the comments for diet question…half way down and you’re the first. A good solid well rounded intake of natural food goes a long, long way to helping the supplements do their thing.
You have AIDS
AIDS was reversed by supplementing selenium, glutamine, cysteine and tryptophan in 99% of a study in africa. Doesn't cure hiv infection, but prevents aids because aids is in part a nutritional cellular depletion disorder of glutathione. see the white stack protocol i pasted here if you are interested
Um, no. I think my immunity has been down for a while because of tons of stress and lack of sleep in my life.
I sincerely apologize, that was crass. I was just amusing myself. Hope you get better
Sleep is important.
Try this: Cats Claw - 5 pumps throughout the day. 1 pump at a time under tongue. Wait 30 seconds then swallow.
I was experiencing similar to you and this knocked it out.
I didn't muscle test for ivermectin or Fenben.
Go online and purchase spike support if you are vaxxed.
Then proceed below whether appropriate or not.
