What the Bible doesn't say
Bless Israel and God will bless you
As a Christian, it is my duty to step in here and remind every Christian of these verses:
Genesis 12:3: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” This foundational verse establishes God's covenant with Abraham and underscores the significance of blessing Israel.
Psalm 122:6: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” This verse encourages believers to actively pray for the peace of Jerusalem, reflecting a commitment to support Israel.
Numbers 24:9: “Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse them? May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!” This verse reinforces the idea that those who bless Israel will receive blessings in return.
Jeremiah 31:10: “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’” This verse highlights God's ongoing care and promise to gather His people.
Isaiah 55:5: “Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will hasten to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.” This verse speaks to the future blessings and recognition that Israel will receive.
I believe that in Israel, just like in the U.S., there are "deep state" actors at play, but we shouldn't bash the entire nation of Israel for their bad actors, just as people shouldn't bash the U.S. for our bad actors.
Genesis 12:3 is said to Abraham, not to Israel. Why do people always leave that out?
Nations that allied with biblical Israel were constantly destroyed babe ruthless empires, while the Roman empire which absolutely crushed Israel did just fine for 1,000 years. And that was the historic evidence of the biblical israel. The people of Israel today are from russia, hungry, and ukraine. They have no bloodline to the ancient biblical people. Ivanka Trump is considered a chosen person simply because she has rejected Jesus Christ which he was originally taught to believe in. Does that make sense?
The reason the Israel blessing is heavily emphasized and that dozens of other biblical promises are ignored is because there is Zionist money influencing religious leaders. We know that Charlie Kirk was offered tens of million dollars for this.
Do you actually not understand the relationship of Abraham and Israel? And what about the other Bible verses I listed?
Do you not understand that Jesus said the kingdom of God will be taken from "you" (meaning from Israel " and given to those that produce fruit (meaning followers of Christ.)
Paul makes it clear who the "those who the bless you will be blessed, those who curse you will be cursed" promise is for:
2 Thessalonians 1:6–7 (KJV) Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels…
I bet you've never seen this Bible verse before. But I bet you know the vague Genesis Bible verse.
God does not have two kingdoms. God does not have dual loyalty. God is not conflicted.
Thank you for posting. All who confess Christ as their savior, who confess God in Christ and follow his word, are the New Jerusalem. This is why Jesus wept, because of their denial of HIM and his Good news. Yes, God loved Israel, yes he sent his beloved son to save them, to die for them. Instead, they killed him on a cross. Jesus recognized this would have to happen, and opened up the kingdom of God to the world, out of love of the people of the world. The nation/state of Israel is no more precious to God than the remotest Christian Church in some backwater country, if that Church proclaims Jesus Christ. I am Israel, you are Israel, we are the New Jerusalem. Woe to a preacher who does not emphasize this, they are leading their flock astray. The time is coming close, no one knows the last soul to be saved and converted, only the Father. And when that soul and heart and man embraces our Lord Christ, the second coming will commence. The first will become last and the last will become first. This is not anti antisemitism, it is not anti muslim, it is the fierce love and warning from God to repent and to come home into open loving arms.
Thank you. We are God’s people, Israel. Not the state of Israel.
Replacement theology contradicts the New Testament. (Romans 11) We are grafted in. We do NOT replace. God is not done with Israel.
Exactly. Jesus is the new covenant. The old one, whatever it was, is not valid anymore. It is irrelevant.
We are Israel. Not that Satanic state that is killing innocent people. Any real Christian should be able to discern that this is not from God. It's from Satan.
Perhaps you should let God speak for Himself. Try quoting Him instead of telling us what you think He says and means.
I don’t know who you are getting your teaching from…but goes against the biblical understanding and teachings of all the greatest biblical scholars.
You just want to hate Israel.
Matt. 21:43 is said to the chief priests and Pharisees (45), not to Israel.
"Why do people always leave that out?"
The spiritual blessings relate to how we treat those with the faith of Abraham, and there are a few physical blessings that relate to how we treat those of the national polity of Abraham (the physical would include Arabs indirectly), and these two are separable.
Your cherry-picking ignores that nations who supported Abraham's faith were blessed, as in Solomon's time, and nations who rejected Abraham's polity were in time destroyed, as God prophesied and as happened in proper time to Rome too (about 300 years after they crushed Israel in 135). It ignores that many Ashkenazi do have established genealogical bloodlines to ancient Judeans. It ignores that Abraham's polity, like our own, is permitted to establish sufficient naturalization standards for itself.
The one thing you get right is that there's political incentive to promote an uncritical Israeli-nationalist view and there's much money tossed on this. However, the correct stance is not radicalism in the other direction, but to accord Israel the same self-determination rights as any other nation. My hero Ron Paul has long said that we should end foreign aid both to Israel (which can take care of itself) and to Arab nations (which receive about twice as much as Israel taken together).
Treating Israeli nationalism and American nationalism with exactly the same rights of self-determination is a path forward that should unite everyone, but if someone disagrees from that approach the extremism can be judged cleanly.
What you refer to "cherry picking" were 100 beautiful promises from God to followers.
I will concede that God does have a special promise for Jewish people. But they must first accept Jesus Christ and follow him.
Otherwise, they are no different than the Aztecs or the Hindus.
Not at all, I was referring to your imbalanced comments about Jews. However, your present comment about them is perfectly balanced, thanks.
There is one difference from evangelizing Aztecs: Jews require "creative-access evangelism" like other nearby countries because they have special cultural resistance.
When God changed a person’s name and gave him a new name, it was usually to establish a new identity. God changed Abram’s name, meaning "high father," to “Abraham,” meaning "father of a multitude" (Genesis 17:5).
At the same time, God changed Abraham’s wife’s name from “Sarai,” meaning “my princess,” to “Sarah,” meaning “mother of nations” (Genesis 17:15).
This name change took place when God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. God also reaffirmed His promise to give Abraham a son, specifically through Sarah, and told him to name his son Isaac, meaning "laughter." Abraham had another son, Ishmael, through Sarah’s handmaiden, Hagar.
But God’s promise to bless the nations through Abraham was to be fulfilled through Isaac’s line, from whom Jesus descended (Matthew 1:1–17; Luke 3:23–38). Isaac was the father of Jacob, who became "Israel."
His twelve sons formed the twelve tribes of Israel—the Jews. The physical descendants of Abraham and Sarah formed many nations. In a spiritual sense, their descendants are even more numerous. Galatians 3:29 says that all who belong to Jesus Christ—Jew, Gentile, male, or female—are "Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise."
I tell people this all the time and they just look at me like their brain is resetting. Abraham was not a Jew at the time.
1st John 2:22 22¶Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
thank you
Thanks, keep the faith.
Read the book of Amos and get back to me
See, the eyes of the Lord God are on this sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth— But I will not destroy the house of Jacob completely— oracle of the Lord. 9 For see, I have given the command to sift the house of Israel among all the nations, As one sifts with a sieve, letting no pebble fall to the ground. 10 All sinners among my people shall die by the sword, those who say, “Disaster will not reach or overtake us.”
This
As noted, what the Bible does say (quotation not paraphrase) is "O Israel! ... Blessed is he that blesseth thee" (Num. 24:5, 9). (Note that this text was first given by the Gentile, Balaam.) So I can see where people would get a paraphrase, as it can be literally rearranged to "If you bless Israel, you are blessed" ....
🙏🌄
In the Bible, the covenants -including the New Covenant often cited from Ezekiel 37 - is made with Israel, and frankly, as His follower, you should WANT to be a part of God's Israel.
That being said, Important note: the Israel refrenced in the Bible is a people group, his chosen family, not a modern secular nation... You are grafted into this "House of Israel" through faith in Yeshua/Jesus, according to Paul, while the non-believing Jews must be re-grafted back into the family through the messiah if they wish to earn eternal salvation as well...
The Bible DOES say "Pray for The PEACE of Jerusalem." That is NOT "pray for the victory" or "pray for the triumph," but also not "pray for its defeat or destruction"...
I will continue to pray for peace while trying to dodge the lies and confusion of the enemy who has imbedded himself in all governments and churches and internet forums across the world... The path is narrow, and there are trappings on both the left and the right...
Good way of staying balanced like I attempt to do here.
Amen!
I do believe Jesus said,
Mat_5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Genesis 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you". This is presented as a foundational promise from God to the patriarch Abraham.
Numbers 24:9: In a prophecy about the nation of Israel, Balaam declares, "Blessed are those who bless you, and cursed are those who curse you".
So promised the same thing to Israel as to the church?
God is not a polygamous nor an adulterous God.
And what is considered "Israel?" Bloodline? Because modern Israel have little to none. If it is based on dna, then it's best to start blessing the Palestinian people because they have more bloodline to Abraham then these white skin, blue-eyed immigrants from Russia and Ukraine have.
Or do you believe someone becomes a chosen person because they reject the name of Jesus christ? In order to convert from a Christian to be a jew, they specifically ask that you denounce the name of Jesus Christ.
Or is it just the name? If I name my dog Israel will I be blessed every time I give her a snack?
Of the hundreds of promises and blessings of the Bible why is this one so Paramount? Why is it every other blessing must be ignored even if it is from the words of Jesus Christ? Don't you see how you are the product of years of Zionist propaganda?
Can you find a single example of a Christian prior to 1896, when the Zionist movement was launched from Switzerland, where a Christian of any denomination placed any importance on the so-called blessing of Israel?
Do you not see that you are going against God?
Stop cherry picking the Bible.
Do you realize this theology is newer than mormonism, newer than Jehovah witnesses? This theology emerged with the Scofield Bible study notes which were published in 1909. Do you think it is a coincidence these notes and the theology emerged 13 years after a Jew in Switzerland named Herzi launched the Zionist movement?
This theology was completely foreign to John wesley, John Smyth, calvin and Luther.
May I just say the I’m impressed with your knowledge, Young_Patriot. Not many youth have even cracked a Bible open, let alone read it.
Thank Q! I just graduated from a Christian school.
Now I'm going to a very woke college.
Again, and others have posted, there are numerous Bible verses that speak to the special place and plans God has for Israel, and verses regarding whether to go against Israel or not; this is in the Bible centuries and centuries before Herzi. Your anti-Israel sentiment is noted, and I'm sure God has noted it as well.
Research moar….lol.
Without going into the details of your other questions right now, I'm interested in that particular claim. Can you please name and cite one rabbi who publicly makes the statement that denunciation of the name of Jesus is required for conversion to Judaism? If so then we can look at the other questions too.
Rabbi Tovia Singer is a Jewish teacher who helps people who want to become Jewish. He explains that if someone wants to convert to Judaism, they have to say that they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah anymore.
He says that if a person still believes Jesus is the Messiah, then they can’t become Jewish, because Judaism and Christianity teach different things about who the Messiah is.
In one of his talks, he said something like: “Yes, the rabbis will ask if you believe Jesus is the Messiah. You have to say ‘no.’ You can’t become Jewish if you still believe in Jesus.”
Guess you never heard of Messianic Jews, nor had the brain cells to negate the opinion of one man by the existence of over 300k examples to the contrary.
Good start! And thank you for saying so. Now, the issue is that Singer, whom I'm relatively familiar with, is specifically an antimissionary, an activist who wants Jews not to accept Jesus: someone learned, but not someone teaching as a synagogue leader. I have never known him to be a congregational rabbi (and I suppose I should have specified that in advance). WP indicates he has a Jewish center in Indonesia, where it is not recognized as a religion (and thus not as a synagogue), while he resides in Jerusalem. While I'm interested in seeing a direct citation of what he's said most recently (because he doesn't make this claim in my materials from him), it doesn't answer my base contention.
That is, it appears to me that real rabbis responsible for congregations (and I suppose Singer has some "real" credential that is not congregational) do not in fact require you to deny Jesus as Messiah directly. In my experience they instead test you with many indirections and decline to proceed with your conversion if you appear to follow Jesus because they all refuse to handle the issue directly. That is why you don't see anyone making denial of Jesus a tenet of Judaism (which is also why Messianic Jews number in the range of a million now, because they have trouble arguing the case except for a few rabid dogs like Singer). I understand most Jews, if they think about Singer at all, regard his activism as a necessary evil, someone who they need but who they can't formally agree or disagree with out of the politics of the issue; similarly the vast majority of Jews regard all the Orthodox as a necessary but very inconvenient part of being Jewish.
Even if he used that language, there's still the question of what it means to be the Messiah. Christians would certainly say Jesus hasn't completed all the work of the Messiah yet even though he finished his crosswork; Paul says as much. But in Judaism, not having completed all the work of the Messiah means you're not really Messiah yet (according to a face-saving pilpul by Maimonides). So there's an ambiguity there being exploited.
Since you made a sincere attempt to answer and you're being reasonable, I wouldn't mind continuing. Do you want to work on my contention that there is no official sect of Judaism that makes it a tenet to deny Jesus as ever becoming Messiah; and do you want me to answer your questions or were they rhetorical?
Nobody's here is worried what it says, it's really the lack of understanding what it says that left me leaving the lies behind
Mods need to sticky!
AMEN !!!
