Too expensive and nothing available. Houses are still snatched up after just a few days on the market. Inventories are small, construction is either subsidized housing or $400k+ starter homes, no in-between. All the regulations on the market, it makes no financial sense to build starter homes anymore. Profit margins are small for same amount of work. Death of American dream in real time.
Dems don't want to acknowledge that the "housing crisis" is due to the millions of illegals! Illegals are the reason for high health insurance costs, high property taxes to pay for the increased public school loads, higher justice system costs due to their crimes, etc., etc., etc. This isn't rocket science or Nobel economist level thinking!
some ass hats in my small rural city bought up all the rental property, empty lots, foreclosed houses etc, and split lots and put up duplexes and filled them with these types of folks.
They actually would buy a rental house and split the lot to put a duplex where the back yard used to be. Or, get a run down house, knock it down, put up a quad plex or whatever.
I called their office and asked what they were doing it, and they said "there are a lot of people in $COUNTY that need a place to live"
WAY WAY more rental properties in this city now. This one group of ass hats owns well over 200 addresses in the county.
Hopefully they are stuck holding the bag as their "units" run empty.
I know an individual in a neighboring town that this same thing has occurred…. He started calling ice and a couple visits and now there are For Rent signs all over town. Time to report the freeloading.
Have the local antifa goofs started putting up the "housing is a human right" stickers everywhere you live? They create a problem (immigration-caused housing shortage) so they can make you beg for their chosen solution-more publicly funded welfare ghettos.

I have several nieces and nephews who are unable to afford an apartment of their own due to the unattainable first and last month's rent plus deposit plus utility deposits and monthly utilities. They don't want to live with roommates, but it seems that is the only way younger adults are able to spread their wings is to live with a group of other kids their age and some of those other kids don't always come up with their half of the bills. So sad.
