I got notice from SS that my check and my wife's check will increase next year BUT my Medicare, my supplement and my drug card will have an increase also. What this means is our combined income drops by $300 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how incensed I am at this. We now pay over $1000 a month for our Medicare and supplement w/ drug card. I almost puked! Looks like no more Dom Pérignon for us!!!

they give you a increase to then take it in the medicare. Such bs.
I wish they only took the increase! I take 2 BP meds that cost me about 30 bucks every 3 months and my wife takes no medicine and just our drug card went up, hers form 40 to 92 and mine from 60 to 117 a month. Silverscript was bought out by Aetna and BAM, double the money!
just don't pay it and order your drugs off the internet like a normal person
I feel your pain. This insurance racket is making me so aggravated.
I remember reading somewhere that Trump is going to go after the health care insurers next
I hope so!
My insurance agent put all my meds into a computer program to find the cheapest plan and in 2026 it will cost me $600 less than this year and most every prescription I have is free or $1.
Find an agent that can put your scripts into the program to learn your best alternative.
A problem I am having is being able to keep a Dr. Lost mine 2 months ago because she moved and was now out of network. Got all set with new Dr. only to hear that UnitedHealth is in negotiations with that Health Group and if no agreement is met I may lose the new Dr. I haven't started the process of finding a new carrier.
This is how I've done it. Ended up with Humana that worked best for my meds.
And free application GoodRX will beat the price you get through drug card.
I don't take any drugs, zero prescriptions, and rarely have gone to doctor in the years since I started medicare coverage.
Any one in my family that starts getting sniffles or anything, I mix up some Chlorine Dioxide (MMS) and they quickly get over what coming on.
Single care is a good discount card too.
They do the same thing with work and our insurance. You get a raise then they take most of that for our insurance. It's all a scam.
I suppose I could renounce my citizenship, move to California and get all the free stuff there is!
Yep, it’s built-in poverty. Even more infuriating is learning they give SS benefits to illegals and millions of dead people.
All that money paid out to illegals and no goods cheating the system, should be stopped and the money given back to us via our SSA! My SS was raised a whole 33 dollars after the raise and the increase in Medicare. I have no words for anyone that has not worked and is receiving SS payments. Most of those people get free medical, according to what I've been reading.
You receive supplemental income if you become disabled without having enough work credits to file for SSDI - you do not get Medicare, you receive medicaid, free Rx and much less monthly income. My BIL was on it before he died. He only received $700 monthly back in early 2000's. He died 2015.
And isn’t it so nice that Medicare is a requirement?
I'll bet Congress doesn't have it
My wife still insuring me since she is still working. Thank God! The whole medical situation sucks. Stub your toe, bill is 10,000
I have to be dying or close to death to go to the hospital. I'll treat myself at home, my odds are better.
Agree completely
I figured about 4 grand for an MRI I had 2 weeks ago on my knee. I may have underestimated the cost!
With the SS increase, after I pay my Medicare increase & supplement my actual raise is $3. Effing keep it.
All of these type of programs, including SS, need to be abolished and government needs to keep their hand out of our finances. The fruits of our labor our ours, and government has no right to any of it.
if they did that, where would they get the money for illegals and dead beats?
My mom’s drug plan is so bad that she uses the free GoodRX card that comes in the mail. A recent RX was over $100 under her Medicare drug plan which has a $600+ deductible. She used the GoodRX card and paid $43. The pharmacy assistant said that’s very common.
And have you ever looked at the SSA Aime calculation? Look at the bend points We get back a fraction of what you pay in. Social Security and Medicare are Socialism sold to us as a retirement plan.
https://ssa.tools/guides/aime “ This progressive structure means that Social Security provides higher replacement rates for lower earners while still providing meaningful benefits for higher earners.”
GoodRX is great.
My SS increase was washed out by the Medicare B increase.
Same story with me and my wife. The COLA "increase" (woohoo!) is almost wiped out by the increase in Medicare, so together as a household we will get maybe $40 more per month. Meanwhile in Minnesota, I hear that Somali's can't spend money fast enough on luxury cars and luxury homes. Land of the free, home of the brave. Right.
If only you could see the flames coming out of my eyes! Kek
Crying kekies all day! :-(
All you boomers just use goodrx if there is a drug that’s unreasonably priced then ask your pharmacist to suggest something in a different class that will do the same thing. The older drugs are cheap asf and many are all you need. For example change eliquis to plavix etc. Change entresto to a ace inhibitor or arb. Most pharmacies also have internal discount cards that can be used and in some cases are even cheaper than goodrx. You can also buy in bulk to save more
Health insurance is going to be corrected. Fiat has to fail first.
Not my business but the advantage plans are decent and cover prescription drugs. Finally talked a friend into getting rid of straight Medicare and switching to an adv plan. The only reason she was keeping the regular was someone told her the adv plans don't cover much short term nursing home stays but in reality most insurance won't, maybe 3-10 days maximum. Meanwhile on a fixed income and making monthly payments just for her pcp visits when those will be covered in full.
I have a supplement hat pays 100% after Medicare so I am afraid to change anything. Just had an MRI on my knee. Cost with Doctors will run about 4 grand. Supplement picks up what Medicare won't.
Maybe you should identify as somalian
Only in Minna-cold as the Artic--sota!
Ridiculous. We pay our entire lives for Medicaid insurance and they charge a premium. Because they steal, waste and misuse 90%.
They "borrow" from SS and Medicare for illegals! They do NOT borrow from government retirement system and government pensions though!
I use a part D plan that has a zero cost. I took 2 years and got myself in shape and lost 55+ lbs and got off my 3 Big Pharma drugs. Stop using there system and educate yourself and get healthy. They dont cure a dam thing only patch the symptoms so your a life long customer.
I have been athletic all my life. I am 74 years old and work out every day. I can do 60 pushups at one time. I do pushups and squats 7 days a week but on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do around 150 pushups and 60-80 squats. I walk every day and play golf when the temp is above 60 degrees. I am in pretty good shape for my age and the only meds I take ar BP meds. I cannot seem to get off of them with diet and exercise. I think they hook your body into needing them. I tried carnivor and keto diets and no help. I still do keto for my health.
Fasting got me over the hump. Me and the wife have done the master cleanse 3 times now (2-3 day fasts) and daily fast with a 16/8. I eat between 10-6 and nothing the other 16 hours. That got me down the last 20# and was able to get completely off my 1/8 dose of Metatoprol. I like you would go off the low dose and my blood pressure would go back up to 135/85 with a pulse of 70. After losing more weight with the Master Cleanse and doing daily fasting I was able to get rid of the last drug for good last August and I am steady at 120/70 with a 55 pulse. I also think they get you hooked where its very hard to get off Big Pharma drugs.
I do the intermediate fasting now. It is not that hard once you get used to it.
☝️☝️☝️THIS RIGHT FUCKIN' HERE. MY NET WENT UP FUCKIN' $3. THAT'S NOT A TYPO. SSA went up 2.8%, Medicare deduction went up 10%
Meanwhile, some Somali fuck is getting Tens of Thousands!!
If you make any money on the side your Medicare goes up like 25%. They are never going to let us get ahead.
Mine is low and so my increase is $3.
It is supposed to be calculated to keep up with the cost of living. WTF iz Oz?
Sad ain't it!
I already got my statement from SS. My Medicare went up by the same dollar amount, and I be receiving the same dollar amount through’26.
Seems I made too much last year. You wouldn't know it by my checking account!
My rent will go up; everything will go up. The actual increase is almost meaningless.
Funny how that works; illegals have been raking it in for many years while American citizens count our crumbs.
They come here and get greater benefits than those that have worked 50+ years. The enemy is CONGRESS!
Are they still taxing you?
Yes. I make too much money on the interest I get on CDs. The main reason my insurance doubled!
