Is it tho? If Texas and Florida can redraw their maps, shouldn’t California be allowed to do the same? If Congress can stop sitting on their thumbs long enough to pass the SAVE act, in the long run it won’t matter.
Those extra 5 seats will come in lovely once ICE starts their deportations in California. Vance will be chairman of fraud in California, ice deportations, and a plethora of military personnel scattered through out the state will definitely destroy one of the democrats strongholds

they got rid of all the "safe" democrat seats to do it. all those seats are way easier to contest now. it's mostly up for grabs.
I'd trust the newly added Republican reps from TX and FL before I trusted the 5 Republican reps that will be eliminated from CA.
Seems like a winning compromise to me.
Technically speaking the only reason why they're doing this is because of Texas redrawing their maps, and also voter suppression. They want less power for the people and more to them, so they can have the final say in everything.
Texas and Florida are redrawing their maps to counteract gerrymandering and to reflect revised demographics.
California is just straight up gerrymandering their state.

If voter fraud is proven in 2025 election in CA that will invalidate the proposition.
Not treason... relax remember Roe v Wade, before that the SCOTUS gave democrats something they thought was good, then they overturned R v W, I have a feeling that the 14th for anchors is about to go bye bye.

I think that this will boomerang on them. Either the SC will pull the rug out at the right time so that they can’t recover to fight it.
Or, and more likely, they will spread their votes so thin that with election integrity measures, Republicans will pick up even more seats.
Agreed, the election integrity measures make this extremely risky for the Democrats.
I don't think most are aware how truly wonky elections are in CA, OR, MN, etc. There are ballots just floating all over the place and anyone can turn them in. They actively toss ballots that answered wrong. Voter rolls are polluted. etc. etc. etc.
The very fact that they had to do these things to win indicates that their plurality is an illusion.
Critical that real voters turnout though.

If the ruling from SCOTUS regarding repealing the Voting Rights Act is a positive ruling, it may totally negate the California steal. Maybe SCOTUS didn't want to waste time on something they already knows it will be nullified...

The USSC declined to take the case as filed. This is not a ruling on the merits of the case.

Case could be filed again with fact sets and arguments structured differently, and in a way in which USSC would be inclined to rule formally, not simply dismiss passively as they did here. It would have to be an urgent filing to get a meaningful ruling in time for 2026 primaries. GOP is opposing the redistricting thing from several different angles in CA, not just one. State law violations may also complicate CA (D)'s redistricting plans, like Commonwealth election rules have complicated (D)'s attempts in VA to re-district
But they are allowing the map to be used for the 2026 midterms, so it's essentially a Democrat win either way.
They are not "allowing" anything. If they ruled on the merits of the case they would communicate a finding based in law that allows it. They declined to hear the case as presented. The case can be resubmitted with an alternate theory which may be ruled on favorably.
What goes around comes around. Do the same in Red states.
