Personally I avoid sea salt due to the ocean being polluted. I prefer a brand called real salt from Utah take it from an ancient seabed tons of trace minerals. Not taken from the Great salt lake
Me too. I take half a teaspoon twice a day in water. And yes it tastes FAR better than Morton's table salt which is junk and not good for human health.
I always put Real Salt in my water. I drink a ton of it. If you don't salt your water, you flush out minerals. You can make your own LMNT electrolytes for nothing. Potassium chloride, magnesium malate, and some salt.
Absolutely the best!! We also get the 2 lb bags to refill. You can find it at health food markets, but I've found the best pricing at A@*Z%n (Iknow, I know!)
Been in Whole Foods once in 2016. Bitch with fish hooks in her face looked down her nose at every item i had. Trested me like crap. Never been back.
Fake superiority.
A lot of health food stores have it and some can special order it if they don't carry it. You can buy it by the shaker but they also have refill bags that are the better bargain.
FWIW, mined salt (incl Himalayan salt) will typically be missing magnesium and other minerals that require moisture. That's not to say you can't get those minerals from other sources, but that's one reason to favor sea salt.
It's also why sea salt is often grey and clumpy, and usually shipped in funky packaging, to retain the moisture and prevent those minerals from evaporating away.
Your brain needs the salt. I did a very low salt diet once and could no longer do simple math in my head. Normally I can do very complex math in my head. Concentration suffers.
In the UK we can get Zechstein sea salt, its lovely stuff. The Zechstein sea stretched from Denmark to Ukraine millions of years ago, it was a shallow sea and laid down great deposits of salt. With iodine as well!
Yup. While we're told that everyone should limit salt intake because of it's negative health effects the reality is that salt is only harmful to a small subset of people with medical conditions. It's almost as if we have a divine creator that designed us to live in the world we are in. Weird.
Yeah. After my dad had a kidney transplant in the '80s he was on an extremely low salt diet. Example - if we had canned green-beans, Mom would put them in a strainer and run water over them until there were no more bubbles in the strainer. Same for macaroni.
Very low salt is not the answer. There are other ways. And it is not drugs. I had to learn this too. If it was salt, they would not give people in ambulances a large amount of saline drips.
Plain table salt is bad though. There is a difference for sure. Western Medicine has misrepresented salt as bad for health. Wrong wrong wrong! You might want to listen to Dr. Ardis discussion about salt consumption?
I dropped my BP by 30 points to normal levels the moment I started drinking heavily salted (to taste) lemon water every morning after fruitlessly spending several months doing everything else to lower it.
Sea salt has very little iodine, something most people are already deficient in, so I supplement with SSKI or iodine painting.
I also like to add potassium chloride to my salt grinder mix, about 25%. My mix these days it 25% sea salt, 25% Himalayan, 25% "sacred salt", 25% "no salt" aka potassium chloride.
"and that is why table salt is bad for you" literally doesn't follow from anything else you said in that title. Literally nowhere in that title does it say anything about WHY table salt is bad for you.
I have used baja gold for years. Besides being an excellent source of minerals (even higher than celtic salt) , it has 20-30% less sodium chloride and most importantly it's free of heavy metals!
💯 that advice was for heart patients not healthy individuals. Won’t any way but people will adopt whatever their loved one was required to do makes cooking easier but then both suffer from low salt mistakes.

I love this salt. It's ruined me, can't use any other. The flavor is fantastic.
Me too. I take half a teaspoon twice a day in water. And yes it tastes FAR better than Morton's table salt which is junk and not good for human health.
Way ahead of the game by drinking water with good sea salt in it. My goal is 3 quarts of saline per day. Fighting some toxic overload right now.

Nice, just bought a ten pound bag, I love this place😃
Why is Morton's junk and bad for human health? Not saying other salt isn't better but what makes you think Morton's is bad?
Over processed

A very good point. I take a very good magnesium supplement

I like Himalayan pink salt too.
Yes, dollar store score!
Mined salt, like Himalayan salt, will typically be missing magnesium and a few other minerals that require moisture.

Appreciate it.. I tried once by deleting all the crap but it didn't link up once it was posted so just posted again with all the mess below it..

I'm going to make some eggs olive bread toast and a healthy dose of my Baja Gold salt... this is not paid endorsement. I just like this sht 😁
Table salt is awful
But low sodium literally keeps my heart in check. I tend to have palpitations and if I keep my sodium in check they are pretty much non existant

Sounds like a magnesium/potassium problem not salt.
Also taking magnesium glycinate daily and a potassium rich diet. all pieces of the puzzle

Tastes great, looks cool in the grinder.
Glad to help! Cool info about the tanning too, never heard that before. Iodine painting is an easy way to get it into kids as well.
Cheers TI, hope your having a great day. 🥂

🤔🇺🇸
Baja Gold is awesome.
A quarter teaspoon of salt in my morning coffee or tea opens my nose and helps me spit up anything that accumulated during the night in the throat.
I will live and die by my sometimes copius salt comsumption. Worth it's weight in gold
Great post fren!
