EDIT: It's Saturday morning and I'm running a fever and feeling lousy. Clinic wants me to head to the ER. Off I go.
Hi folks. I'm at the age where it's time to start getting a colonoscopy and I'm having my first one later today.
I'm not feeling much apprehension other than I've never been put under before (all previous surgeries I've been awake for) and that I have my own family and another family that greatly depend on me financially. If something were to happen to me, it would be rather disastrous, especially for the other family.
Again, not terribly worried but there is some risk. I'd appreciate a quick prayer that the procedure will be uneventful today.
Thank you, fam.
May your procedure be uneventful and may you not feel uncomfortable afterwards.
Amen. And remember this procedure was once done without being put under and that the disease you are preventing is not the best way to go. I find taking the two gallons of prep the most difficult part and I do hope your appointment is early morning because it's a long day without food and drink. The anesthesia is light. You wake up almost immediately and very few have any side effects. Best wishes for an event less procedure.
The prep was the most difficult for me too. I couldn't sleep at all the full night and I had the colonoscopy around 7 am in the morning. My experience was about the same as yours as the actual test took about 10-15 minutes.
Heavenly Father, we pray for JackieDaytona74 and the colonoscopy since its the first one had, We ask for an uneventful experience and that You would keep in perfect peace the whole family through this. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayers on the way fren.
Prayers incoming, May your first fart be loud and glorious when you wake up
Legit LOL from me on that one, Az.
Sending prayers your way!
It's quick and easy. The prep is diabolical! It takes like 20 minutes and is done.
Man oh man you aren't kidding, B. That prep was something else. But the procedure was a breeze. Wonderful people at the clinic.
You got it totally normal Arizoniya accent anon! Prayers and positive mind vibrations going out to ya fren.
For additional peace of mind, I'm middle-aged also and I've been put under over a dozen times, scopes included. And look at me! smiles showing crayon stained teeth
Seriously tho, big frog energy going out to ya fren! 🐸 Have a blessed Easter weekend!
Prayers going out that the scope shows a normal colon.
The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep you need to do before it. You will not be put under heavy anesthesia it is pretty light and you should wake up without feeling any effects from that.
Prayers for a good result from your test Jackie 🙏🤍
Psalm 34:4 - I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Prayers incoming, fren. May all go well for you today. Amen
Yes, I’ll pray for you. And in future, consider doing some research on whether colonoscopy procedures are really necessary for healthy people. As usual, the medical profession pushes thing that aren’t necessary, and many of these things are “fear” driven.
DON'T DO IT! NEVER
Lots of research linking these tests and the actual cancer. Do your own research folks
Same goes for mamagrams
That being said. I am sending lots of prayers your way!!
I can’t find the research on colonoscopy. Just on mamograms. My husband has had weird gut pains for about a year now and his doc is saying he should get a colonoscopy. And the perk is they will cut off the polyps.
I'll look for it. What these doctors were saying was that the large increase in colon cancer came the same time that they became pushed. Not the other way around. Also, that they can tear the lining and that may be a reason for the increased cases.
I'll be 60 in a month and I don't go to the Dr except about every 3 years I have to replace tubes in my ears in his office, out in 30 mins.
No X-rays at the dentist either. Makes him mad
This is what I came here to check on.
I suspect probably all colon cancer is caused by parasites.
Prayers for you going up now. I've had a few colonoscopies, all went well They have this down to a science, so you should be fine. Pro tip: see if your doctor will prescribe Cologuard biz, it's much simpler, not invasive, and pretty accurate at detecting colon cancer.
You'll falln in love with propafol lol
Statistically speaking you should be ok
There are also a minority of people who argue you could skip colonoscopies as they catch less problems than they cause
Edit: saying a prayer for you and anyone else undergoing medical procedures
And there was a minority of people who were concerned about childhood vaccines 6 yrs ago. As people do their own research things have changed dramatically
You’re gonna do great. It’ll be tomorrow before you know it and just a memory. The outcome is gonna be great and you’re going to feel so much relief when they tell you there’s nothing wrong and you’re totally healthy. Positive thoughts! Prayers sent.
Please post an update to let us know you're ok💖
Thank you so much for the prayer, FGM. Very tired when I got home, but all went well and the news from the doc was 100% positive.
Glad to hear it! 🐸👌
My friends, thank you so much for the prayers.
All went well. A few benign polyps that they zapped. The propofol was like a time machine. I blinked and it was over with.
Thank you, thank you, thank you pedes.
Wife brought me home and I was very tired, took a 6 hour nap. Now it's time to read the news at 2am :)
Prayers sent ✝️
🙏💐
Ah, my doc prescribed the anal camera rape for me a few years ago. "Suspected rectal cancer." I had to drink antifreeze all day while sitting on the po. Ended up with a red raw ring. Not my favorite pastime.
Next day, my wife drove me to town. I got a drip feeding beer into my arm and watched a movie featuring a pink tunnel while I was "examined" from behind. I was wide awake, although the beer drip supposedly dulled the pain. I certainly didn't feel pain, although it was slightly uncomfortable as the procedure involves pumping air into the bowel. I had to lie on my left side afterwards and fart a lot.
(I see no reason to add to the danger by rendering the patient unconscious. Not necessary.)
Specialist managed to find and excise a polyp, which I had to take a few doors up the road to a microbiology center. Result: non-cancerous. Diagnosis: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which I cured by changing my diet and taking HCQ every day for a year.
One problem with any such procedure is that if a sample is taken and it IS cancerous, then the cancer cells can enter your blood stream. That's how it metastasizes.
I won't be going back for another camera session.
IF I ever suspected that I had cancer, I would avoid doctors and simply go on the Ivermectin + Fenbendazole + vitamin C + vitamin B17 etc. regime.
