Yes. I've often wondered about what they retrieved. I used to work in the building next door but that was a long time ago. Friends of mine heard detonations all the way down in Redondo Beach about 13 miles away. They thought a storm was rolling in from the north.
Yes, I remember that. There were also pics of them decontaminating helicopters on a roof. They come out of that building in hazmat suits.
Those explosions were likely breaching secure barriers, to be heard so far away.
Hard to say. The hazmat operation was more in the LA Wilshire area. There was also something else going on somewhere else that night probably as a distraction for the real operation. I don't remember all the details of that night. If a guy had not caught video of the choppers from the building next door, we would never know about it. The building they came out of was due to be demolished in a few days. IPOT did a pretty extensive video about the owner of the building and some of that background.
What I remember that stands out about the video was that when the crew loaded on to the chopper with whatever it was they removed from that building and then took off, you could see the crew hanging out of the doorway, and then you didn't. It was like the door used some kind of a cloaking device. It was bizarre. I had to watch it several times. Looked like some high military special ops tech.

That's it. Thanks. The so called training exercise was the cover for the main operation that took place in the Wilshire area. Like I stated, the only reason we became aware of it was because a guy was in the building next door and wondered what the hell was going on. He took video of it. The area is pretty deserted at night because it's basically a commercial area. He was working late or something like that. It has been so long I couldn't remember all the details.
I meant my question literally, though, beyond this particular incident. Part of me suspects they are all cover stories. On the other hand I can imagine that some announced training exercises are indeed training exercises, so that when they need to use the explanation as cover for an actual high stakes covert operation it's more likely to be believed by the general public.
As to the LA incident the hazmat suit aspect is scary.

Yes, I clearly remember it being in LA, shot from a roof top. Soldiers went into a building and came out with a large box out that was loaded onto a chopper and they all left. And then was the decontamination.
