A couple of points: wouldn't a SCOTUS ruling only affect those in office on 1/6/21, and not the recently elected Congress?

And why would a Democrat get the gavel - doesn't the Speakership require a majority vote of the whole body?

And do you disbelieve Pelosi's announcement stepping down from leadership? Wouldn't Hakeem Jeffries be the presumed minority leader?

You're on to something here. I don't know if it's a psyop per se, but in my estimation there are too many here lost in flights of fancy over symbolic things to distract themselves from the erosion of liberty and rights in our country and the world. A symbol is not evidence of child abuse. You can point to spirals and hearts all day, and it's not going to get one child abuser arrested or even make them slow down in their wickedness.

For all the symbols people point out, has even one person used their agency to surveil one of these organizations for actual evidence of nefarious activity?

So my point of view: symbolism is NOT everything, it's crap, and a waste of time. Symbolism will be no one's downfall.

Sounds like fake news, honestly. They were going to "storm" the Reichstag with help from "mad Tyrant Putin" . Just like Trump did on January 6. /s

Seriously though, I believe there has been a case made that German is still under occupation, so the legitimate government is in exile.

I get where you're coming from, OP. With advanced communications, representation, at least in the House, is not entirely necessary. Everybody jumping all over you are right to fear a pure democracy. But I would need to delve further into your thinking: would we still have separation of powers? Would the U.S. Senate still be representatives of the states?

Is there a meeting in the middle if we keep our congressmen, but we do speedy plebiscites with our cellphones before they cast any vote?

What an odd statement. Brits left Britain with other Brits to be with Brits in America? Isn't the truth that most came to the New World for new opportunities, and for less religious and government repression?

While I appreciate the info in this post, "Hold the line" has lost all meaning at this point. You know who is holding the line? Katie Hobbs and Marc Elias. They are playing hardball to capture the powerful offices in Arizona. Threating people with jail, disregarding any claims of disenfranchisement; And the more often these type of people are successful, the fewer people will fight it, or even bother to vote, because we see there is no winning.

We're counting down the days until Joe Biden has served a full two years as President. If Trump was coming back to office before 2025, January is the most feasible time. If we get to February, and it doesn't happen, then we know the steal was complete and unpunished; irreparable.

The picture you posted is a still from a youtube video, which you can view at the source story https://www.nantucketcurrent.com/rental-cars-used-by-secret-service-destroyed-in-fire-at-airport .

The wouldn't be crime scene tape if there wasn't any crime. I work around vehicle storage yards - and have had a few instances over the years where fires take out an entire row of cars. There's always a stopping point though, where there's enough of a gap or firewall so that the burning stops. The fires may have even extinguished themselves, without firefighters assistance. They would just be there after the fact to investigate and make sure there was no risk of reignition.

It is slightly interesting that none of the vehicles were total burns, and only the front end/engine compartments seem to be affected. But that may be an improved feature of newer vehicles - better interior firewalls.

And since this is a rental car facility, as in many car storage facilities, space comes at a premium. So the unblemished cars you see around them may have been moved into place after the fires were out.. as you can see from the yt vid, the tow truck is able to get to the vehicle from the other side.

Edit to add the question you're not asking: there were 2 sources who let it be known that these rental cars had recently been used by the Secret Service. Just gossipy rental car employees? Or is someone trying to communicate something with the story?

Cheney would be completely contrary to the point you just made about McCarthy. She voted to impeach a Republican president, worked with Dems on the phony J6 committee, and endorsed Democrat candidates. I think that's 100 times worse than McCarthy just being a wuss.

I still think the messaging on this scandal needs some finessing. Most people don't even know who Hunter Biden is, much less why his laptop is important. What we're really talking about is Biden Bribes, Corruption, etc.

Don't make light of this guys! One day it's rocks on the ground, the next day they'll be building rudimentary gas chambers!

Complaining is all good and everything, but are we supposed to do the election again with the exact same equipment and election officials?

Who has a succinct argument for how elections SHOULD be run? A declaration of demands would be helpful. Boil it down so people can get behind change. We can't obtain a goal if we don't even know what that goal is.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone from the 2016 bench.

I don't get it. If Jack Dorsey had come out and endorsed Andrew Yang, who he contributed to, I would not have been surprised or even cared. CEOs endorse politicians all the time.

I think you're mostly right here. This is a dominance display. For a pop culture analogy, think Tony Soprano. When Tony came back from being shot, he (for no apparent reason) picked a fight with the most muscle-bound, alpha looking guy in the room. This was simply to prove a point - that he is still top dog.

DeSantis is the most most popular governor in the country, possibly the most popular Republican politician, next to Trump. And he is about to become supercharged after a big re-election victory next week. So this a shot to see what Desantis will do: Will he shoot back at Trump just before election day and possibly upset Trump's base? Or will he take the hit like a good little boy, because you don't swing at the boss?
