Playing up the rivalry for 2024, but we all know Trump is coming back before that.

Some have argued that Desantis would beat Trump in 2024. Playing up a rivalry could be either on expectation that Desantis would aim for president or to conceal that Trump is coming back earlier.

There's still an optics game.

we all know Trump is coming back before that

Nothing personal anon but it might be more accurate to say that is something that not only do we all not know, but that none of us know—except, if true, Trump himself and maybe a limited number of trusted confidants whom none of us know.

IMHO the most likely reality, given the data available to us right now, is that the earliest date he can be reasonably expected anticipated to return is Jan. 20, 2025.

I wanted 2023, so he could get ten years total, but that ship has sailed. It's already November, and most of the nation still believes the Big Lie: he simply lost the election to the intellectual equivalent of an eggplant, who never campaigned, just because Trump is that hated. (He's so hated, he got millions more votes than any other sitting president—far more than he did in 2016 BEFORE he was so hated. So being more hated gets you MORE votes. This is the "logic" of Democrats. :)

I'm not sure about DeSantis. We do need more unifying forces, but if a unifying force divides with the same side's unifying force, then it's not a unifying force.

DeSantis has no hope of winning a legitimate election against Trump.

He should focus on making Florida the best it can be.

The only problem I see with your original post is you did it with less than 2 weeks until election day like it was a political hit piece. What is a Floridian's alternative? Crist, the verified liberal? So we should send DeSantis a message by kicking him out for being a rino? Do the hit pieces if he decides to be a contender against Trump, by all means.

Crist scares me. So much so that given a choice between him and Mitt Romney, I would have to hold my nose and vote for Romney, Crist is that bad. Actually I would just stay home on election day and get my final affairs in order. Florida cannot fall under liberal control or 2024 is gone for us.

DeSantis can stay in Florida, land of RINOs. The Deep State apparently has some kind of dirt on him, but if he continues on the path he's on then he will not have much of a political career left at the end of it all. By 2024 nobody is going to still think he is MAGA or on Trump's side.

Dont be a dumbass. Just because I use a new video of Jeb gloating about DeSantis doesn't make it a hit piece. It doesn't make the money trail between the two any less relevant.

Does seeing it today make it a 3 day hit piece?

Think, man. Think!

If you think we don't need a unifying force when conservatives are the most individualist people in the world, then you should get used to losing.

Trump unified conservatives and classical liberals and wiped the floor with the left in 2016 despite an incredible propaganda machine that is worse than any before it, and then came back and forced them to cheat so outwardly that only fools believe it was a legitimate election.

You can only pull the numbers Trump does by being a unifying force.

You think Jeb could do that?

Who gives a fuck about Jeb or Ron?

You should absolutely care about the other people we have as options moving forward after 2024.

The point is that real conservatives shouldn't unite with RINOs. That's actually how we lost 2024 (Pence).

Are you being a dimwit? I'm talking about uniting the voter base, not politicians. Trump is a unifying force for voters, due to his charisma, blunt honesty and transparent record of integrity. We do not have any other people for a time after Trump right now.

Conservatives are not "the most individualist people in the world", we're actually united with each other. You're just throwing out random words that you think will support your point, but think about what you say before you speak.

So.. you're retarded. Okay. You could have said that from the start, that would have been a lot easier.

Conservatives have trouble unifying behind a candidate and have very different preferences for what they will vote for. We are far more complex than the left, who will vote exclusively on party lines for single issues.

Conservatives are split between a lot of different ideologies, and we source our base from far more than the US left does. That requires someone to unify, or else the vote is split like 4 different directions. Conservatives are also more likely to vote across the aisle, a la Obama in 2008.

If you don't understand how variable the conservative base is compared to the left, I would go research how varied conservatives tend to vote, how our track record falls right in line with the "don't bother me and I will keep my head down" stereotype we are known for, and then compare that to the Trump era where we got our asses out and got excited, riled up and involved because of Trump.

Trump's energy inspires this base like not even the tea party did. He reignited the American flames in our blood, and he carried that flame to people who don't even have that American blood or heritage.

Even Ron Paul couldn't do that, and he's one of the most clean, stable and is of the highest of integrities that we've ever seen in a candidate. But he didn't have Trump's energy to beat everything back.

To say we have been united as strongly as we are now under Trump would be a hilarious lie full of such denialism it'd actually bring me to tears from laughing.

We can't even always agree on core issues.

Edit: Lol you downvoted immediately after I posted. You will not argue your point with any point of good faith, because you don't want to be challenged to defend your points. And we say, buh bye. Not worth my time to continue engaging with someone who doesn't want to sit down and chat.

What about a 2024 Trump - Desantis ticket. This would give Trump four years to clean out the swamp, and then DeSantis could have the next eight years.

It will take a war time leader like Trump to clean things up. No one else is suited to that task.

Trump and DeSantis are not on the same side. They don't like each other and Trump and his team have repeatedly scolded DeSantis for refusing to say he wouldn't run against Trump. So there is no way Trump would ever consider having DeSantis as a running mate. People are fooled because DeSantis is doing things Trump would have done, because that is how DeSantis intends to steal the nomination. My uncle supported Trump but he watches Fox News so he thinks Trump is done because of those horrible J6 insurrection he supposedly caused, but he sure thinks DeSantis is a great guy. They're setting it up so DS will have just enough support that they can steal the primary for him.

Correct. The "straight talk" after someone else paves the way is good generally for shifting the "overton window." But I don't remember anyone in politics telling it like it is until AFTER Trump came along. And they didn't do it until AFTER he won doing it. This guy sort of came out of nowhere, funded by the establishment, with his "watch me stick it to the establishment" schtick. Color me skeptical.

Pence was an insurance policy against Trump (MAGA). Pence dying on his sword was necessary to break the Bush RINO hold on the GOP via the 2020 election steal sting operation. Pence makes the Bush dynasty complicit in the steal.

Every RINO dynasty has been destroyed privately, now were seeing it publicly to redpill normies against the DS Uni-party narrative.

Desantis may be a sting/honeypot insurance policy against other RINO uprisings, but redeemable compared to Pence.

Difference between Pence and Desantis, Pence was defense, Desantis is offense.

I think Devolution is a fail safe and not the main play. I think that's why they allowed Biden to sign things into law that were blows, but not total losses. There may never be a reveal because it might not be necessary, but for the sake of the truth they must tell us. Just don't be surprised if they don't.

I think the plan is to put Trump as Speaker or gridlock the Biden administration until 2024. I really can't tell with this movie any more. But since Roe v Wade ended, I have been confident that this will all work out in the end. One way or another the BEST IS YET TO COME.

Nah, Pence had the choice to make things right. He was in a unique position to hold people accountable and he did nothing. Worse than that he ignored massive election integrity issues and congratulated biden on his "win". Disgusting. If you want to say it was all part of a plan to wake up people and entrap the enemies more then fine but personally i think it would have worked out just fine if pence actually contested election results and forced a military audit of states. Only time will tell but in my opinion if he had acted differently we would be in a far better place.

This could well be true. If the media/the left perceive bad blood between Trump and DeSantis, they will completely jump to "DeSantis Can Do No Wrong" mode and then later if he is the VP candidate, they have to eat all their praising words.

What could also be true is that DeSantis's head has inflated because he thinks he "Out-Trumps Trump." But it would be a disaster if he tried to usurp MAGA from Trump. We are loyal to Trump and we want him to have his term.

Those RINOS are hitching their future on getting on his good side because they are politicians and they think he might be a future President - I don't think that makes DeSantis a RINO. Many of those same RINOS did the same under Trump once he was elected. Remember Mittens begging PDJT for a place in his administration? Miss Lindsey sure seemed to like kissing Trump's ass once No Name was out of the picture. How about Cocain Mitch begging Trump for an endorsement (which Trump gave, by the way)? Did any of that make Trump a RINO by association?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– probablyacoincidence 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Well couple of things. It was a red flag for me with Trump then and still one of the things I wish he had done differently. Also then it wasnt quite so clear how much the deep state rinos hate this country and true patriots. Mitt was a wishy washy centrist until Trump completely exposed him. I also simply made the case I dont like it, and that we will see. Doesnt turn into a trump vs desantis battle for me at this point and i refuse to fight with you or anyone else between those two. I like trump better and desantis right behind him. If this cycle all those same rinos were backing trump and fighting to get him in position i certainly would wonder what in the world it was about and i wouldnt feel as comfortable that he is who i think he is. Thats all. Have a great day friend

I was not meaning to seem confrontational - I asked a question because I knew the answer - No, those things did not make Trump a RINO and I think it is premature for people to label DeSantis a RINO for the exact same reasons. RINOS will always exist and they will do or say (and back) whatever it takes to remain in the posistions they are in.

I didnt really take as confrontation, was just conversing with you but wanted to make sure you knew i wasnt escalating by disagreeing. I just dont like the vultures circling in and hope he isnt trying to use them for his political success and and I hope he sees them for what they are and keeps them out of any political plans for his future. And then everyone wins, :) except the loser rinos

Since Republicans should all uniformly agree the election of 2020 was stolen, (because the evidence overwhelmingly proves it), they ought to agree that Trump is automatically the nominee for any subsequent election, without holding a primary.

THAT would be unstoppable, undefeatable unity.

DeSantis will never be part of the MAGA ticket because he's already proven he intends to stab Trump in the back. DeSantis better get comfortable in his governor seat, which he has recently refused to state that he would not abandon for a presidential run in 2024. That's all he's got coming and he's lucky he weaseled his way into it by pretending to act like Trump while actually being against him.

I think you're mostly right here. This is a dominance display. For a pop culture analogy, think Tony Soprano. When Tony came back from being shot, he (for no apparent reason) picked a fight with the most muscle-bound, alpha looking guy in the room. This was simply to prove a point - that he is still top dog.

DeSantis is the most most popular governor in the country, possibly the most popular Republican politician, next to Trump. And he is about to become supercharged after a big re-election victory next week. So this a shot to see what Desantis will do: Will he shoot back at Trump just before election day and possibly upset Trump's base? Or will he take the hit like a good little boy, because you don't swing at the boss?

I believe people see DeSantis to be much greater than he is. Not saying he is a bad man, and Trump isn’t saying that either.

When did we move from “return the diamonds” to “Trump - Desantis 2024”?

If nothing happens to right this 2020 stolen election, then everything else is just another fake choice lullaby.

Theyre not but maybe I’m just too much of an idealist. It was a rigged election and it should not just be shoved under the rug. There should be consequences and if nothing is done about a stolen PRESIDENTIAL election then I guess I just lost faith in the whole damn thing hence why I say it’s just a false choice scenario/ Hegelian dialectic again.

If POTUS is part of a white hat op, why wouldn't the black hats insert someone very much "like him" but on their side? Controlled opposition?

I'm not anti-desantis by any means. He's done amazing work for Florida in the interim but what if? What if he was inserted in an attempt to derail MAGA?

Why doesn't he overtly support Trump, when at this crossroads, we all do? Why not blatantly state it and put all questions to rest?

This movement is united. Why doesn't desantis unequivocally join the movement cause all he has done is aligned with it without actually using his platform to show allegiance?

Ah, yes. Pick out the one thing you like and ignore the rest.

I want to see you explain how any of THIS is MAGA:

Like when he flew to Israel and signed anti free speech legislation against Floridians while IN Israel.

He imports their professors and teachers to his state to indoctrinate the youth there. But now you can't say anything about what they warp your kid's mind with, because see above.

He's having Floridians send 50 blacks to college every year as reparations for something happening in a tiny town somewhere in Fla over 100 years ago. Reparations! MAGA!!

How about when he stopped Biden's midnight flights of illegals into Fla then confiscated all the pla- oh wait. Nope, he still allows that.

Allows illegals to flood Fla but then empties OTHER states of their illegals using Floidians money?

Can you admit it, even to yourself, that these are globalist serving policies?

Straw man much? Honestly, some (most) of what you just stated, this is the first time I've heard any of it. Mind providing some links so I can investigate? If the pushback he gave during covid against the Biden Administration (and the CDC and FAA during President Tryump, for that matter) is not enough, here's what other things I can confirm about DeSantis - teachers unions hate him - that's a plus in my book. He called out Disney on their woke politics and won. Election integrity police established under his direction and they are making some arrests. Florida's based sheriffs all seem to like what he's done to help out law enforcement. He's creating the Florida State guard so the state can have disaster relief capabilities without the strings attached that come from the National Guard. I get that you don't like DeSantis - and in that aspect, you've aligned yourself with Disney, the teachers union, centralized control over emergency response and a host of other globalist policies. See, two can play that game. Come back when you can have an adult discussion without disparaging me for NOT hating on someone (DeSantis) who has time and time again done things that benefit his state and done so in a way that the globalists hate him for.

Edit: A downvote - my day is ruined.

Ryan would be "courting" any potential GOP leader. He burned bridges w/ DJT, but that doesn't stop him from appealing to anyone else.

People forget, Ryan is a Courtesan by nature. He rose to power in the House by licking the balls of House GOP leadership. He doesn't lead, he sucks up.

I saw that ad with DeSantis and the "God Sends a Fighter" theme. IMO that was pretty risky. You start presuming to speak for God and God's intentions, you're going to get blowback. Although some people may not come out and admit it, they are asking "who the hell do you think you are?" I'm sure there were a fair amount of "how dare yous" out there as well. Trump may have just been poking fun at him but look at it this way: Trump knows. He knows. He knows about Rove, Ryan and McConnell supporting this guy. It would be one thing to see DeSantis as a truly genuine guy fighting the good fight, but it's still early. There's just something about DeSantis that gets me, sort of the feeling you get when you sit back and say "wait a minute....."

I think this is bad for the movement. No one is a perfect candidate. Everyone is bashing Elon for example but he’s done some good and we don’t knkw the full end game of what twitter will Be. But the infighting isn’t good especially since Ron is a rising star in the party. He’s sure in the hell better than McConnell, Chaney et al.
