We might know each other, but I won't ask who you are. Two astronauts that died lived on our street (Freeman and Chaffee) and another lived about six blocks down (Bassett). 10 of the 14 men that walked on the moon lived in our little one square mile city across from NASA.

MadDad, thank you so much for the good hardy laugh this morning!

Just stop it people. We went to the moon.

I grew up literally across the street from the Manned Space Center during the Gemini and Apollo programs. I watched thousands of dedicated and talented men and women achieve this historic milestone. We cheered when our neighbor astronauts succeeded, we grieved when our neighbor astronauts were killed in training or Apollo 1. These were real people.

I am not a doctor, but this shuffling walk looks very similar to someone who has Parkinson's Disease. In addition, a common accompaniment to Parkinson's is Lewy Body Dementia. I've seen this disease in family, it's not nice.

"Will you decide what men shall live, what men shall die? If may be, that in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man's child. Oh God! to hear the insect on the leaf pronouncing on the too much life among his hungry brothers in the dust".

The English have a great expression for this type of situation, "Mutton dressed as Lamb".

Just in case folks don’t recognize the play on this saying….. When Davy Crockett lost his bid for Congress in Tennessee, he said, “Y’all can go to Hell, I’m going to Texas”.

I believe you might be referring to DEF, a separate additive that newer Diesel engines are required to add to their fuel. This is another reason I love my 2008 Ford F-250 —- no DEF required and NO electronics to be tracked. Besides, you can’t haul horses with a Tesla.

Benjamin Franklin did say, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

As a six decade resident of often flooded Houston, it is hard to predict when and where catastrophic or flash flooding will occur.....especially in areas that have hilly terrain like Kentucky. However, local National Weather Service Offices do issue weather Advisories and Warnings, but it is up to the individual to be aware of and heed those warnings. Flash flooding can occur so quickly, it often precludes an evacuation. Individuals must accept responsibility for themselves and keep abreast of potential threats.....both weather and otherwise.

Belleville is a wonderful small town and county seat of Austin County. It is an hour or so drive from Houston. In April, it is one of the first places folks go to see the Texas bluebonnets before heading out to Chappell Hill and Brenham.

Well, as a Former Student of Texas A&M (there are no ex-Aggies), I still give annually and have done for over four decades. The University is now three times the size of when I graduated. Of course, a certain element of "Wokeness" has infiltrated, although it is still very much of a conservative and practical mentality. I can't speak for the really big buck donors, but I am rethinking the size of the legacy I am going to leave for a President's Endowed Scholarship. I'm concerned about the direction.

Of course she should appeal! Here in Harris County, Texas any potential juror who knows anyone in the court case ....defendant or either side's attorneys, for example .....are automatically excused. Given the the interesting background of this judge and the defendant, looks like a pretty darn good case for a mistrial in my humble opinion.

Uuuuhm, no.

Sibling got the fourth booster a few months ago. Just a few weeks later, discovered a Stage 4 cancerous tumor out of the blue. OK, maybe just a co-incidence. Sibling just finished Chemo and started a walking regime as directed by the doctors. Sibling started having severe angina and rushed to the hospital. Sibling has a major blockage and will have now be having a heart procedure. Still a co-incidence? I don't think so.

Gig 'Em Aggies! Wow, does this mean Texas A&M will have to rewrite its Fight Song when we sing, "Saw Varsity's Horns Off"? The hook 'em horns down sign has been part of our school rivalry for decades. I fear this Woke Generation will be the first to succumb should any real endangerment comes their way. From an Old Ag and proud Boomer.

yoshikawa, the US has several LNG maritime terminals on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf coasts. Are you referring to Germany not having any?

HoustonGal 3 points ago +3 / -0

Speaking as a Boomer, I don't understand your post or question. Please elaborate your point.

Very True. I know of several friends and a relative by marriage that are selling off their entire beef herds here in Texas because they can't afford to feed them.
