I've learned or filled in gaps of my own knowledge just by listening or reading his works.
I would recommend choosing the topic then seeking out his books on that topic via bookseller, amazon, or the like. No, I don't like amazon either but sometimes they have what you cannot find so I bite the bullet, as the saying goes.

I have witnessed some of the...events...you allude to, however. People often get trapped in what think they know rather than what they don't know, which furthers discussion. This is called the Dunning-Kruger syndrome.

What they don't teach is how well fed and cared for slaves actually were. Sure there were exceptions, but I speak of the majority.
