Pffft. It's just @ in Beelzebub Sans, y'all.
True, but if we transition to newer Nuclear, and replace most plastics with plant-based versions, and move to more plant-based fuels, we could, over time, reduce consumption to match replenishment, for those uses where oil is difficult to find a replacement for.
But, why isn't anyone challenging it, with so much ready to access information at our fingertips? I knew oil wasn't fossils, birds were probably dinosaur survivors (now a certainty), that ancient Norse and what would become the English had settled the New World long before Columbus (though some newer findings on that are still pretty cool, like there being a real Camelot, narrowed down to a couple locations, and the real King Arthur likely being buried under one of a handful of existing churches in the US), that ice age world maps existed, etc.. That was way back in the 90s, when it took reading actual books, and spending time at libraries.
Today, it's practically inexcusable, IMO.
Many have been found to be attached to deeper sources. So, some thought has been that pressure has been relieved, and it's pushed into there from those harder to access deeper deposits. However, if it's actually truly newer oil, instead of older oil...
That it's not old critters has been known since the beginning of the oil industry. The fossil name partly stuck, because we have presumed that it is a finite resource, similar to mineral deposits. What hasn't been known, is how it was made, exactly. If it is a slowly renewing resource, that could very much change how civilization comes back, after our current fall is completed.
It's much more than that. Independent movies, in general, has been a pretty healthy market, ever since VHS tapes revived them, way back. This is a movie that was done years ago, and actively blacklisted. Big props to Angel Studios, for going out of their streaming/OtT comfort zone, and for making their company only accountable to direct investors. Had they not decided to make themselves as they did, after the VidAngel drama, this movie would probably still be in limbo, blocked by crafty legalese.
We could see from the beginning that this was going to be Indiana Jones' equivalent to The Force Awakens, after the franchise had also already run dry.
If it had Ballerina to compete with, it might not demolish the competition (but I could imagine a lot of people watching both, the same day, if something like that happened). But a sequel, Disneyfied, of a franchise that long since went stale? Of course this would happen.
I really want to see the end of week numbers! I haven't seen it yet, but word of mouth is happening, and it's all positive.
Why has everyone been calling it a Playstation 2 or 3 controller? Is there anything to that? It's such a glaring error, and shows that anyone claiming it gas been unwilling to do even 30 seconds of research, making anything else said also suspect.
That's already been the case, for years. As ML acceleration hardware gets cheaper, they will get even more common, and harder to sus out.
Why is a 20-something not sister living in an unusually brightly lit house with her 30-something not brother, and why did they get a washing machine so small that not sister can get stuck in it? I must know!
From 1996 on, sure, with the available music. Pre-1996, though, there was a lot of variety, local stations would be involved in the local music scene, and DJs would get to play whatever they felt like, or people wanted, during non-prime hours, and even mix up the regular playlists a bit. Deregulation brought it back to the old Payola system, just slightly more complicated.
Meanwhile: Wayfare: hold my pizza.
Put the capslock down, son!
Not only that, not there are many waves of migration and settlement, just since the last ice age, if which quite a few give us big question marks, and little else. For all the hundreds of thousands of mounds destroyed, most predated the Indians we know, and were simply taken over by the settling tribes. There was a lot of migration, especially out west, that occurred not too long before the colonists arrived, after what seems like a civilization collapse of some kind. On top of that, the tribes that were culturally migratory didn't even recognize land rights as we normally think of them, at the time, and couldn't really have land stolen, anyway.
So, B&J's will virtue signal like this, to no end. But, would they support a tribe that is still trying to get correct treatment by the US or state governments, as defined by treaties previously agreed to? Yeah, how do you like them crickets and tumbleweeds?
Probably not symbolic, and coincidental in the most literal sense. As in, those with ties to traffickers are much more likely to attend events by or for organizations allegedly doing good for children. Those events will be much more likely than average to serve primarily, or exclusively, ice cream. Thus, you get many times more photo ops with them licking ice cream.
But, use archive links. The OP link gives me an error on Twitter, and Nitter instances are non help.
And some aren't. I've known some otherwise perfectly fine and normal gay dudes. It's hardly unknown in other species, too. Some portion are not mentally ill, aren'tinto grooming, public displays of sex, and so on. But, they're also not loud, proud, and terminally on social media.
I've also known a few that I think were a bit out there, and almost certainly had some abuse history. Like, you're a good neighbor, and generally decent person, but no right-mineed person is this promiscuous, and you deserve the STDs for that. The ones I've known didn't exhibit any common groomer red flags themselves, but it's not a stretch to go from them to that, I'm not in a very blue area, and my sample size is small. They seemed to universally like excessive colorful stimulation, like a little kid, have simplified views of inter human relationships, and use some set of interests to superficially hide being hypersexual (it's hard to concisely describe, but something I have begun to notice more recently). If they didn't have likeminded adults around them, or if they were to fetishize their own stuntedness, I could see things going that way, as we so often find.
I also know one that had some serious shit in his childhood (like being pimped out for his mom's drug money). He dealt with it, and then ended up going straight.
The question then becomes, how do you differentiate them? Well, if they are into gay pride, or all-ages drag shows, here's your sign. Likewise, if they're big on social media, here's your sign. When an adult does kids- or adolescent-oriented content on the web, you should be wary of their true motives. Some are OK, but an awful lot, maybe most, are there for access to that audience.
Probably not many. I mean, Curtis is about as Westetn European as they come, amiright?
Surprisingly, most of them will be well above average. Look up, "midwit."
No, I think that's optimistic. Some, sure. But, take Elke Fanning. She's a nepo baby starlet, in her prime. She could probably tell those types to pound sand, and be a good blackmail victim, in the public eye. But, she's grown up in Hollywood, and has no connection to normalcy.
Mandy Pi...I can't spell that shit is a gifted actor, able to use vocal intonation and body language to a degree few can, and very much has had success from his talent. He's the actor equivalent of the old black Blues player, that can move an audience sitting on a stool with a guitar, instead of jumping around to flashing lights. But, he's also a total flake. His unreliability has killed off multiple projects early (Dead Like Me, FI), very much keeping him from ever making it to A-lists. He has always been into the current thing. Most likely, he's severely borderline.
A lot of these people are nutjobs, that could not make it in normal society, and need no intimidation or blackmail. A chance to be attached to superficially meaningful activism is more than enough.
I recognized a number of them that are about as high as you can get, and in popular media right now.
Don't recognize most of them. But, of those I do, the only big surprise was Patrick Stewart. That came out if left field. A bit disappointed with Lily Rabe - she seemed to be on the call, from what I'd seen outside of AHS.
I was surprised to see so few former groomed starlets on the list, like Ariana Grande and Elle Fanning, TBH.
Why have not combed Montana for evidence, yet? Yipee-eye-oh-kie-yay!
And here I'd have figured it would have been masochistic Netbook Arch users.
Shipping container home: problem fucking solved.
It can't cull the stupid, unless being stupid results in worse fertility. It's been leading us to becoming dumber, for 100-200 years, on account of intelligence needing strong selective pressure. In a world with modern medicine, and little need to plan for the long run to impress a gal, expect Idiocracy, but worse, within a century or two.
In the US, at least, due process is very highly valued, and gets in the way. With so much corruption coming tonight, though, and our enemies going to extremes with lawfare...well, it gives me hope for the backlash.
