This was a pretty good explanation. Let me add more why. Through a process of challenges and votes, Trump was going to win on J6. A challenge from a house member and senate member for a state would lead to discussion and a vote. A special vote. Where each state gets just one vote. The members of that state decide on how to vote that state. The Republicans controlled more states.
The Trump team telegraphed the plan and the trap was laid. The democrats were behind the whole J6 events. Some unwitting Republicans were caught up in an invited peaceful tour.
You can expect the polls to move about 1% a week in Trump’s favor. Even then, Trump will greatly exceed the polls. Trump already has his ever expanding base locked up. Trump is up double digits with independents. That alone would make it a win. But Trump is rapidly chewing up multiple sectors of the democrat base.
