From the article:

Under President Barack Obama, Justice Elena Kagan expressed outrage over the injunctions in public comments at Northwestern University School of Law. Kagan lashed out at the obvious “forum shopping” by then conservative advocates to get before favorable courts, insisting “It just cannot be right that one district judge can stop a nationwide policy in its tracks and leave it stopped for the years it takes to go through the normal [appellate] process.”

However, when the pending case came up before the Supreme Court on one of the Trump injunctions, Kagan suggested that this was “different,” because Trump was clearly wrong. In oral argument, Kagan snapped at the Solicitor General: “Every court is ruling against you.” It was a curious point coming from a justice who had previously acknowledged that challengers were forum-shopping by going to favorable judges, as with the current cases coming out of largely blue states.

It's (D)IFFERENT DAMMIT

the Supreme Court has now given [retailers] a new path to fight the charges—just complain to the president and get the agency officials fired.

yep. that's how that works all right :/

Normally I would agree - but this is specifically geared toward AI deepfake videos

I have a feeling this is about more than revenge porn - more like opening the door to ways to verify if ANY video/picture is fake

we need tools for this - as AI gets better and better, it will be that much harder to believe anything we see and hear.

just a random thought I had reading this :)

that was for the other players, not us. Pretty sure that was to scare a few people into making a mistake

she said they somehow "Trump proofed" the VOA, making it impossible for her to be the Director.

I'm not sure if she elaborated about exactly how they did that

most of the lard at walmart is hydrogenated to make it shelf stable - not sure if that matters, but it doesn't sound good

Is this true? So far I've seen one article about it (from an outlet I didn't recognize) and this screenshot.

Any more sauce for this? I really want it to be true!

I don't comment on your posts often, purrkiss, but I always read and upvote.

I feel so bad for you and your countrymen - nothing worse than watching the intentional destruction of a well-ordered nation.

As an American, I know the feeling. You have it worse though, and I wish you nothing but the best. I hope our favorite president can do something about this.

much love

I think, unfortunately, that unless you have the endless drive that Elon has - it is almost impossible to create ANYTHING in America right now.

We are regulated to DEATH, and only someone who is indefatigable in the extreme can overcome those hurdles.

So any others that might have helped, were probably overcome with bureaucracy

I think the 60 was just in Hungary - J.B. Pritzker alone has 64 NGOs that he is involved with just in Illinois
