I generally like free markets, although I'm not sure this would entirely solve the problem

I've been thinking the problem of "market manipulation" might be a free market equivalent of government regulations; or at least there are some shenanigans I think need to be watched out for in a free market

I don't know much about the issue in particular but since there are some of us who already believe the Vatican to be taken over and not Catholic, which then might simply have us view this as a manufactured drama that could be generated for any reason

moderna problems require modern solutions

I've noticed this problem with some other discussions where people feel personally threatened.

so it might be good to talk about detox strategies if possible

kind of a separate note but january 6th is traditionally observed as the epiphany... I have always wondered if there was some significance to choosing this date on either or both sides

centralization has obvious problems

like trump being banned (until like today?)

I guess it's "pick your poison"

I can't tell if it's all for show

but we probably should support other federated / fediverse solutions

mastodon's been a twitter alternative for a while but idk which instances aren't "woke"

liars face accountability

I'd guess this correlates directly with disapproval rating of (p)resident

yeah this is partially why I wanted to bring this up, I've heard some people talk about it maybe having prophetic implications. didn't know about mesopotamia

it's also just an amazing thing to see, idk if you saw the last one in May (I've never seen anything like that before)

I think today people get tripped up on scientific / mechanical explanations for the lunar eclipse and that may distract them from thinking of it as a kind of religious "sign from God" of some kind

would they really not want to make money from his money? I'd be curious to read more on this

always been controlled in my opinion but that doesn't mean he hasn't woken people up on things or said a lot of true stuff

this trial just being another part of the show he puts on for the people he serves

never thought Sandy Hook was a hoax until they started fining people

well, many of us thought this when it happened because we already skipped back to your thought that it was possibly

designed to scare and shame Americans into handing their guns over

but since they have so far failed, they're doubling down now on this "defamation" trial

we still don't know its effects which means as a precaution we should not be willing to hastily inject things into ourselves with unknown long term effects

idk about some of these comments

gmo is sometimes really harmful to health: "Shock findings in new GMO study: Rats fed lifetime of GM corn grow horrifying tumors, 70% of females die early" https://www.naturalnews.com/037249_GMO_study_cancer_tumors_organ_damage.html

I guess in itself you could argue the tech is neutral, maybe. But you'd have to independently verify the gmo is not harmful. I don't have a lab or know anyone I trust who can do that. Ergo it would be considered uncertain at best. "organic" food has an anecdotal track record of however many centuries as being acceptable, while we wouldn't know the effects of GMOs possibly until it is too late.

seems like the GMOs are likely to be bred with a focus on being able to make more food, without any regard for how other things are affected. They will therefore likely compromise nutrition in pursuit of this goal. Even more nefarious would be food made that actively makes people sick, so that people could be fed cheap bad food while elites dine on "organic" food.

The other issue was they were trying to make "unowned organic" food in to "intellectual property" of patented GMOs so they could say who is allowed to own the seeds to grow foods. This is another important angle to keep in mind as to why GMO is sometimes pushed.

also organic can feed the world. it is more labor intensive tho. https://rodaleinstitute.org/blog/can-organic-feed-the-world/

this is a tough subject to me because with religion obedience is thought to be a holy and good virtue - of course, this is obedience to a good Christian authority who issues lawful good commands.

Different when dealing with non-Christians, or "Christians" who abuse authority

however, that's different than continuing to do things that are not required, like I see people with masks in places without mandates

Limits of obedience have been recognized though of course (Catholic encyclopedia):

On the other hand the obligation to obedience to superiors under God admits of limitations. We are not bound to obey a superior in a matter which does not fall within the limits of his preceptive power. Thus for instance parents although entitled beyond question of the submission of their children until they become of age, have no right to command them to marry. Neither can a superior claim our obedience in contravention to the dispositions of higher authority. Hence, notably, we cannot heed the behests of any human power no matter how venerable or undisputed as against the ordinances of God. All authority to which we bow has its source in Him and cannot be validly used against Him. It is the recognition of the authority of God vicariously exercised through a human agent that confers upon the act of obedience its special merit.

ehhh at least the previous narrative was that electric tech was good and being suppressed by big oil. now lately conservatives have turned and said electric tech is being pushed by big corporations.

to me it's both, I think EVs can be good but how they've been rolled out might be bad. EVs have been around for a century and are about as efficient as back then

I think how this plays out right now is ebikes might be useful for smaller trips, gas vehicles for longer or more powered
