Party over family? What does that say about them? They didn't have to say anything at all.

Mass yesterday, during the homily, the priest mentions a story about Francis and one of the cardinals. Apparently, Francis asked the cardinal why he always seemed so serene. The answer was prayer. I understand the lesson that was being taught, but I thought it was an odd question for Francis to ask. Like, uh, don't you know?

I am wondering which of the larger banks will fail first and no one will get anything. Then everyone will remember how Silicon Valley Bank was made whole...

First it was going to be in the War Memorial Opera House. Then Civic Center where everyone could participate because the Opera House was either not large enough or pose security threats, take your pick.

My husband was in the city late yesterday afternoon and said there were a lot of people out around City Hall but he thought most were out because we are having a bit of a warm spell which always gets people out. His observation was some were obviously there to pay respects but if it wasn't warm, it probably would have been a lot less. I have not looked to see what the lines were like but my guess is they weren't all that tremendous.

(Saw a photo of Fauci "paying respects". Then saw this morning he got a speaking gig down the Peninsula - Steve Kirsch organized a protest outside. Nice Tony - hey, I'll get a photo op and pick up a few bucks while I'm at it. Ass.)

I remember seeing this thread a couple of days ago. Kind of expands on it.

It is so depressing sometimes to realize that events you lived through are such a product of manipulation. 🙁

I have been pointing out to people that all the new housing designs being built look like Soviet Era buildings. They look, blink and then agree. Food for thought...

I listened to an interview with him where he told a story about how he had written an article that was negative on some CCP trade practices or something. Very mundane stuff. He got a visit in his campus office at Stanford from a young Asisn lady who wanted to "talk" to him how he was wrong in his conclusions, blah, blah. Said she was dressed rather provocatively. Tried to give him a gift of a tea set which he declined. Then tried to get him to go to dinner under the pretense that they could discuss the matter further which he also declined. She left and he and his assistant remarked the strangeness of the whole thing.

Fast forward: the news about Swawell banging Fang Fang breaks. The assistant calls up VDH and says "OMG, that's HER!"

Reminds me of Kaiser here in the US back 30 years ago. The model for HMO that people liked because premiums were inexpensive (not the case anymore), the $1 Rx, everything in one place. But it was really 'good' only if you were relatively healthy. I know a lot of "Kaiser killed my X" stories.

Hmmm....

The Biden administration plans hefty fines for companies that fail to comply with its COVID vaccine and testing mandates after they come into force on January 4.

Each employee who breaks the rule will cost their bosses $13,653 per violation, with heavier fines of up to $136,532 for "willful violations," according to a White House media briefing on the rules.

The full text of the rules is due to be published later.

The rules required that employees at companies with more than 100 staff have to get vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested weekly for the disease and wear a mask at work.

The rules and their enforcement are being overseen by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The mandate applies to 84.2 million workers at 1.9 million private sector companies, said the OSHA.

Jim Frederick, deputy assistant secretary of labor at OSHA, told CBS News that "We know that the vast majority of workplaces will be in compliance."

Two words: Fuck Off.

Thx....one more question; would that be drop 300? Or 300 drops back? Meaning 1982.

I saw where it was yesterday (the 28th). At her home in DC. Still no cause.

What does the >>300 under the picture refer to?

Yes. And hope it isn't Schiff.

If indeed they do replace Joe with Gavin, I will personally do my best to point out the immense hypocrisy of the party booting the first VP woman of color in favor of the golden boy without a debate or primary. (Both are unqualified, but I want to watch them squirm when they try to justify their racist misogyny.)

Done. Hang in there. She is a lucky lady to have a husband who loves her so much. 💗

That was an interesting podcast. She also tells the story of how they fame to her and tried to bribe her out of not running. She told them she already had money and gave up a good job to run in the first place. Money wasn't her motivation. She asked who was behind them coming out to see her and she got a vague "people back east".

A friend of mine, who is not awake (she is my funny little commie friend), were talking yesterday and she is on board with the replacement of women and how in your face it is. She is still stuck in left/right, so I don't go there. But a lot of people are slowly coming around. We all take different paths on the journey.

The Tucker interview with Paxton covered the Bush family and how he felt it may have played into the circus he went through. Let if Karl Rove. Also, he beat George P. Bush for the AG job.

When Newsweek merged with The Daily Beast, they became unreadable. They have had a lot of turnover and management changes in the last several years. Five years ago they got spun off to a stand alone entity and have been profitable since then.

I am with you fren. Lost my job last summer. Things just get worse. Find myself doing a lot of deep breathing. Prayers for you.

I drive down the freeway and the overgrowth is so bad you cannot see the signs. That did not happen this summer. It is because the state is doing jack shit for maintenance. It really pisses me off.
