So many good points. I still find myself fighting the urge to succumb to doomer thoughts, but I give a good deal of credit to this community. Because of GAW I am better able to see through the noise, and I am emboldened to do my part to make things better.

Just Human just remarked that our side (read: conservative normies) is actually better at blackpilling than the MSM. I can't help but think the reason so many conservatives we know are blackpilled so easily can be traced directly to Fox News. For many years they were the only game in town for alternative news. Their business model to this day is to get conservatives outraged at what the left does or what the left gets away with, then look at you and say, " Well, I guess we just have to live with it." Thankfully, there are more conservative options for information. Certainly more options that endorse taking action rather than wallowing.

I like the one commenter noting how "ciswimmen" ignore the history of blackface being used to perpetuate racial stereotypes while ignoring the history of drag being used to perpetuate female stereotypes.

My God, the bots are dumb.

Studied McLuhan in college. In hindsight his observations seem so basic, but it's amazing how many people don't understand it.

Hello Undine. Been thinking of you this past week. Hope you are well.

To your point, if I were to hazard a guess, the vast majority of that 16% reside in DC, NOVA, and suburban MD.

I would like to give a shout out to Troy Smith, who has been digging into MD political finances relentlessly. He's also done some digging into some national issues, particularly Bill Gates, but very happy to have a local presence doing the work our local talking heads refuse to do.

Our slave dance was a similar premise, raising money for class funds, etc. In truth I didn't participate because I wasn't jazzed about being made to do humiliating things, and I wasn't Machiavallian enough to make others do humiliating things. It does feel like we're devolving by resorting to this type of attack, but I'm also tired of watching the GOP roll over and let the left stomp on them. I guess we'll find out if this type of fighting back helps us in November.

My high school actually had a slave dance, where students got to bid on other students and they got to boss their "slaves" around for the week. This was in the mid-80's, and even as a high school student who was not woke I found this pretty horrifying. By my senior year enough students complained and it was replaced with some other theme. I don't know how old Katie Hobbs is, but I'm guessing my high school wasn't the only one who thought this all in good fun. On its own it's high school stupidity, but given the crap leftist dig up and outright fabricate, I have no issue with Kari Lake making hay about this.

Praying. He's done so much heavy lifting, and more importantly he's inspired many others to step up.

We got you, Scott!

An addendum to my previous post: I checked the British Airways website to get a more complete picture of the travel situation. It was there I found the attestation form you'd be required to fill out:

https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/Proof-of-COVID-19-Vaccination-For-Noncitizen-Nonimmigrants-Passenger-Disclosure-and-Attestation.pdf

One of exceptions listed is humanitarian or emergency travel. You can verify with the airline, but I'm nearly certain a death in the family constitutes as emergency travel.

Now here's the thing: On the attestation form you have to pinky swear you're going to self-quarantine for 5 days and get tested, and if you are staying more than 60 days you're going to get vaccinated. However, to return to London you do not have to provide proof of being vaccinated, and I don't see anywhere that you have to provide proof of the stuff you agreed to on the attestation form. You should ask your airline or your passport agency if proof that you did the stuff you agreed to on the attestation form has to be provided to anyone. If yes, then I would recommend against traveling. If no, then it is up to you. The airlines and passport agencies may have a better idea of how it all works, but you do want to travel for emergency reasons, and fielding questions about these types of scenarios are common for these folks to deal with.

First of all, Undine, I am very sorry for your loss. You and your daughter are in my prayers.

I read the CDC link and sadly they are still requiring proof of vaccination for travel to the US: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel-during-covid19.html#:~:text=Air%20Travel%3A%20All%20non%2DU.S.,this%20requirement%20and%20accepted%20vaccines.

However, per the link, exceptions can be granted under certain circumstances. They require the traveler to sign an attestation saying they meet one of these exceptions, but it is intentionally vague on whether additional proof of that exception is required. The link for the full list of requirements currently seems to be broken. They also want you to test when you arrive and self-quarantine, but with the availability of at-home kits and no more contact tracing, I don't think there's a way to enforce it.

I would check with your preferred airline to find out what documentation you would need in addition to signing the attestation. Another good source for documents and requirements is your local passport/visa agency. If they are available where you are, I highly recommend CIBT.

If in the end the only requirement is signing the attestation, I am of the opinion that "the shot will kill me" is a valid medical reason, but I am not encouraging or endorsing lying on an attestation form. You should do what is best and appropriate for you and your circumstances, and I hope this information helps you find your way here.

"How do you protect the public without furthering injustice against this man?"

THIS is precisely the problem with leftists. The man committed a crime, several crimes. The fact that the man is black DOES NOT MATTER, but because leftists have twisted themselves into pretzels railing against racism they've become too afraid to defend themselves, lest their fellow leftists accuse them of racism, hoisted on their own petard of virtue signaling.

Poor doggo. 😔

Thank you for your follow-up post, and for your commitment to your local school system. It sounds like by and large the facilities director is a thorough guy and passionate about the work he's doing.

I think if you believe the funds should go to the primary school, you should find others associated with the school (parents, teachers) and let them know about the situation, so maybe you'll get more than two people at the next board meeting. Concurrently I would continue your conversations with the facilities guy. Let him know, respectfully, what you see and how the $9M would be more beneficial for the primary school. Even if he doesn't see your point of view, he can certainly give you feedback on how to get the Board to take up this matter. Unlike the social issues plaguing schools, budget issues regarding school facilities is something most people can agree upon, and sometimes asking the right questions of the right people can go a long way. Good luck!

There is a mom in our school district I stumbled across on Facebook who has been fighting a very public battle against a trans teacher who has been engaging in this type of behavior. IDK if the teacher is affiliated, but I will pass this information along. If anything can help to get this pedo away from the kids, I want to do my part.

It varies in my county, depending upon the topic. When people started fighting back against Covid restrictions the attendance increased. Any topic that directly impacts kids, like redistricting or CRT (stands for Culturally Responsive Teaching in these parts, the sneaky bastards), then you'll see a larger crowd. Budgetary matters like your example don't draw the crowds because it's not sexy enough. There should be as much concern about our taxpayer dollars being wasted, but sadly most don't care. It's especially bad here in Maryland where everyone expects good money to be thrown after bad to solve problems, regardless of their political leanings. You can certainly blame public schools for fostering this apathy.

Indeed.com is a good source for legit teleworking jobs, from data entry to customer service. Travel companies (both corporate and leisure) may be willing to train the right person if they have the aptitude and a college degree is not required.

I absolutely agree. We the people cannot be complacent about getting the politicians to work for US.
