Really? I was taught it was sacrilegious to wear rosary beads; they're not fucking jewelry.

However, election rules say the recounts must be conducted in the same manner as the original election, Elections Division Director Judd Choate wrote to Peters and Hanks on Tuesday. The only way a different type of recount would be allowed is if there were certain discrepancies that did not occur in this election.

I don't have a lot of faith.

I knew something was fishy when she lost. There was a Republican Senator on the primary who also lost that seemed like he would have won (he campaigned against voter fraud).

I hope this goes somewhere, but 2 points:

  1. Why should it cost $200,000 to ensure the democratic process works?

  2. Who is in charge of the recount? Is it the democrat Jena Griswold who doesn't like Tina Peters and will have to campaign against her?

I have compassion. I used to trust the government, I used to trust vaccines. It took me a while to get here, but here I am & I'm thankful I got here sooner rather than later.

Exactly. She may have even gotten it for free if she made enough of a fuss, and TBH I would understand her point of view. It's a flawed system where you can pay for and take the food meant for the car behind you. Rude behavior isn't fixed by even more rude behavior. Maybe grandma should learn to order more quickly - it's McDonalds... not that complicated.

Liberals blame everything wrong on anything but themselves so it makes sense that they'd have diagnosed mental disorders.

Conservative: I'm sad. I should fix that.

Liberal: I'm sad. Someone should fix that.

My hygienist has always worn a mask when cleaning my teeth, which is fine by me since that's what they were made for (i.e., to protect against airborne particulates, not viruses).

Same. Nothing that they reportedly said is illegal to say and I'd argue it's protected under the First Amendment.

There's a big difference between "Burn it down" and "I'm going to burn it down".

Also, I've worked at a govt agency, they don't say "please", nor would they say "you became upset at a..."

Men are also more likely to be incarcerated, so he/she just passed another milestone.

I'm too lazy to sauce the rest of it, but if you hang around you'll run into people much smarter than me here.

There was a post floating around a couple days ago... 1 shot still had problems, but ~70% fewer problems than the 2 shot group. I've heard from coworkers that the 2nd shot absolutely puts you out after you get it, but the 1st one was hardly noticeable. It was marketed as "that's how you know it's working!"

you're set on world domination, so you're going to commit war time resources

I saw a pic the other day of a box of gold wedding rings the Nazis confiscated. And then they just.. threw them in a box for keepsakes. There's also that famous picture of shoes left behind. Same thing - maybe I'm just frugal, but you wouldn't leave that stuff sitting around.

And there was a census of jews prior to WWII and then after. The numbers actually increased IIRC.

Besides that - maternity wards, swimming pools, healthcare, etc.

I agree with your points, it's not so black & white. Also, from what I understand about the 737 MAX bug, it was extremely unlikely to happen and the result of a combination of factors.

I worked for an indian tech firm. Every corner was cut and they lied about progress and deadlines. Just completely agreed to functionality they absolutely could not develop. I was told to hide defects during demos so we could meet milestones. Anything they actually released to UAT was just bug-riddled garbage and if you tried to send it back, they'd just argue that it's working fine.

The project was eventually shelved and the company sued for breach of contract. Nothing was actually delivered, but millions were wasted.

Vietnam should be red, not Singapore. South Korea should also be included.

The United States, China and North Korea are among only six countries that allow abortion on demand throughout the entirety of pregnancy, according to research comparing America to the rest of the world. Canada, Vietnam and South Korea are the other three outliers

As Justice Antonin Scalia correctly pointed out in his Dickerson dissent, this ruling creates a puzzle: If Miranda warnings are not a constitutional right, where does the Supreme Court get the authority to demand them?

He makes a good point.

I used to do close to that ($2000/month) along with my bf until we improved our finances and bought our house.

How can people afford that? They can't. Rent is the only thing they can afford - they can't afford to travel, meet like-minded people, buy guns, ammunition, or securities for their future (nevermind have a kid). They're so emotionally and physically drained from the grind that they can't educate themselves or spend time on their creative passions.

I remember those days. Travel 90 minutes to work in the morning, work late, take the bus 90 minutes back home, make a depressing meal, zone out on reddit for a few hours, sleep, repeat.

If I wanted a populace easy to manipulate and control, I'd keep them so close to the poverty line as possible.
