From what we heard about "the numbers were so high that the voting machines couldn't handle it," to the vote switching, to the ballot dumps, to the destroyed and thrown away Trump mail-in-votes, even to sharpie gate (I still believe that one was at least mostly true. The machines wouldn't take their votes so they put the Trump ones aside to discard later), to the percentage of a vote for one candidate or another (Biden got 1.25 votes for every 1, Trump got only 0.75 for every 1), etc.

I used to fly private fairly often and there are lots of times when you still fly commercial because of logistical issues with the pilot, plane, etc. They need a part, your pilot has too many hours, weather stuff... you can also charter out private plane and then have an unexpected trip where you decide to fly and your plane is somewhere else.

Certain leadership members can have executive protection from Capitol Police, and the Speaker gets extra protection including govt plane flights as that position is next in line of succession behind the VP. The Capitol Police also do risk assessments and can increase protection if necessary.
The US Marshals Service can give protection to a wide array of people, and they do. If the Capitol Police believe there is an actual threat against a congress critter they could easily ask the US Marshals to form a detail.
I think the police surrounding Little G were just doing that as a courtesy, both professionally and to keep a riot from starting.
