American use of the word "liberal" is pretty confusing to the rest of the world where many countries do have official political parties with Liberal in their name.
Americans seem to use "liberal" as a sort of meaningless insult the same as they would use "asshole" or some word like that. Would be good if you people could clean up your dialogue so we understood what you are talking about, just saying.
We Americans with our unbridled free of speech don't really clean up our language. I'm positive if you see "liberal" used in a derogatory manner, you should have the ability to differentiate them.
I write code. Syntax, spelling, precision - it's important. I guess that doesn't matter to some people, which is fine I guess if it gets them through life.

A Progressive would be someone who likes progress. Before assigning a word to a group think about what the opposite of that word would be. What is the opposite of progress? A Luddite? If they are "progressives" are we Luddites? No, we are not Luddites, nor are they promoters of progress, quite the contrary.
What they are, are people under the Luciferians sleeping spell. They are the sleepers, or the ensorcelled, or the bespelled, or the bewitched. Calling them anything else is playing the Luciferians' game, where they take good words, make them labels, and then twist their meaning to confuse us and divide us.

Liberal is a poor classification. Leftist is better, but still unnecessarily divisive. There really isn't much difference between us, they aren't of sound ideological mind, just brainwashed useful idiots or sheep. I was one too, in my youth.
I get this sentiment and I agree with most of it... but, isn't wishing the world being free of your politically-opposite ideology exactly what the left is calling for? The eradication of conservatives which is their antithesis? To me it seems not only is that the case, but that the left is actually winning the battle within the mainstream (not for lack of us fighting back though).

My youngest brother and my niece from another brother can barely tolerate each other. He's conservative and she and her husband are liberal. Brother has tried to convince them to change their minds and it's not happening. Do I wish niece and her husband would change their outlook? Absolutely Do I respect the fact that they have a different opinion? Absolutely
