What Tazzurit says.
Vitamin D3 10,000 IUs a day--not just a multivitamin. The sooner the better--if you don't have it now, someone go to the store and get it--it's that important.
Yep. He has a coronavirus, which are the class of viruses responsible for 40% of "common colds". Vit-D the shit out of it. Take three of those 10k softgels first thing.
I work for a vitamin company. I take about 5000 IU with 2+ hours of sun light daily. Most adults should be able to handle 5-10K IU. The FDA recommended levels for most vitamins are way too low.
He was the first poster in the comment thread—named all the vitamins. Dr. Oz is not an expert on vitamins and just how deficient most people in the US are. Even Fauci admits he takes 9000 a day. I take 10000 a day throughout the winter (probably 4times a week total) and don’t during the summer.
My M.D. prescribed 50,000 IU vitamin D3 pills (1 per week for 3 weeks) when a blood test indicated vitamin D deficiency a few years back. It's safe for most adults, but check with your doctor to be sure. I regularly take 5,000 or 10,000 IUs daily during the winter now, even more if I think I've been exposed to a cold or flu. Better yet, get some sunshine on your skin!
That is what my Dr had me on. My sister & I have critically low D levels, contrary to what our lifestryles would dictate. It marginally helped.
From my reading there are no upper level dosage contraindications.
Juse a side note: When you enter a hospital where I am at, they ask you questions before allowing entrance. One of those questions is "Have you been tested for COVID?"
If you answer yes and you have not gotten results back yet, you must wait until results are known.
Oh, I'm sorry. I'm glad she got her sense of smell back! I didn't figure out what was causing mine until it was permanent. I take zinc tablets orally with no problem, but for some reason the Zicam affected me permanently.
Yup took her a while to realize it was the Zicam. I told hr to take Quercitin and zinc and that is when said "No Zinc supp ever again" She did take the D and Quercitin that I gave her though.
You might let her know that my anti-aging doctor still prescribed zing 50 mg./day to me, and I've been taking it for 12 years with no ill effects. I've wondered if it was something mixed with the zinc, or the form of the zinc in Zicam that was the problem? I've also wondered if there's a class-action suit we can all join as a result?? NOTE: Looks like the class action suits were in 2010 and 2011. I missed out.
I lost my sense of smell and taste. What did your daughter do to get it back? It has been 6 months since I lost mine. Getting pretty sad, not tasting anything.
Nothing specific that I know of , except that she stopped taking any Zinc supplements . I would hate, hate, hate to lose my sense of taste and smell . I love to cook and season food just so and you need both to pull that off. This conversation makes me really sad.
Being a Texan, I love my Tex-Mex but it now tastes like someone used soap in preparation. It tastes terrible. I am crushed. Everything tastes so weird and unpleasant.
That breaks my heart to hear . It is like the loss of hearing or sight. Taste is a very important sense and makes life a joy to live and people think it is not a big deal. They are wrong.
Things are spinning by so fast it's easy to miss the small stuff. Let's assume authenticity, why it still 'triggers' me is because it plays into the narrative of everything being C19. Like another poster correctly pointed out, we are in danger of now normalising the referring to any and all coronaviruses - including the COMMON FUCKING COLD - as C19, because that's what a Lab test or a crooked physician TELLS us it is. Even 'getting cute' with it by the childish nickname 'the rona' (I fucking DETEST hearing that). And in that regard, for God's sake we better start listening to ourselves, just barely 18 months ago we would have known better than this shit. In relation to the taste and smell symptom, dentists are raising concerns about cases of 'mask mouth', one of the characteristics being oral thrush, its associated symptoms, and that it's a contagious pathogen. That was buried away in the most sepulchral corner of the news cycle, but I picked up on it for one, thankfully.
They will have the online pharmacy call you. Since you already have COVID, they will rush you the medicine. Get enough for your whole family. Also get their zinc and their Vitamin D. It’s better than the over the counter types.
The doctor will send you the protocols. This is what they sent me (Called Doctor Zelenko’s Protocols):
For mild illness—take 1 HCQ twice a day for 5 days, then once a week until pandemic is over. Also one elemental zinc 25 mg with the HCQ, then once a day until pandemic is over. Plus take 5000 IU Vitamin D and have it checked if needed.
Are you sure your family aren't all hypochondriacs because COVID is generally less harmful than the seasonal sniffles, unless you have a severely compromised immune system.
Perhaps your son and husband just need you to make them some chicken soup.
Please search for Zelenko protocol and America's Frontline Doctors. We have a very large family, too--it can be a looooong process while you wait for something to get all the way through the troops. You will all be in my prayers, fren. ?
Just realize your husband has the worst of it and still felt ok enough to shoot hoops. When you get seasonal flu you are bedridden for a week.
Sounds like you’ll all be fine. Your son is past it now. Everyone on vitamin D and zinc, this will also help the smell/taste return sooner . Might get more tired than usual soon as immune system is fighting this weak virus off in the background.
Me and my family of 6 got it all at the same time too. My elderly parents (75 and 67) survived it fine. We all had a low fever for a half a day or a day, went away after that, mostly head and nose congestion, not much coughing. Felt like a bad cold or mild flu, but of course it was covid. You will survive it, I promise. Even if you have underlying health issues, unless you're morbidly obese, you'll be fine.
Now that you've had it you don't need the vaccine.
Regardless...
I don't know how well versed you are in statistics, but this is the data you need to focus on:
Roughly 10% of the people presenting with symptoms tested positive. This was during the peak hype.
Roughly 10% of those without symptoms test positive.
Look up Bayesian theory if you don't know where to look.
Or if you need help, draw a box of the entire population. Draw a line -- people on the left have COVID and people on the right do not. Draw a line 10% up from the bottom for both the left and right -- these are the people who test positive.
If you test positive, you are now part of the smaller group. What is your chance of having the disease?
Every single time I’ve had a cold I lost my sense of smell and taste too. What exactly were they testing for? Any coronavirus? Because they are common.
I’m not a medical expert so take this information as opinion and what I’ve heard works and what has worked for me when I had covid
Purchase and use:
Blood oxygen meter
Heating pad (when you’re freezing cold with sweats)
Lots of tea and soups
Pedialyte
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
B-12
Quercetin
Zinc
Fever reducers (Advil and Tylenol to alternate)
And obviously whatever it’s prescribed to you
Try to stay somewhat active if possible because if you start relaxing, things seem to get somewhat worse (at least it did for me)
If bronchitis is developed... remember that it’s most likely VIRAL bronchitis and not BACTERIAL bronchitis. So be sure to relay that information correctly as well.
Again, this is what I’ve learned from our experience with this China virus. We all got over it, including my father who is considered obese and is diabetic.
I am not giving medical advice but I recommend you buy one of those fingertip pulse oximeters. You want to keep a close eye on your blood oxygen levels. Anything lower than 93 is dangerous.
My experience was that you can be breathing fine, but if your blood oxygen is lower than 93, you can be in distress. The key is to keep your blood oxygenated.
I don't venture a position on anything. I know that I got pretty sick and I believe it was similar to the flu, as I had never had the flu before. Never get the flu shot either. Either way, I was left with a couple of lasting results, no sense of smell or taste.

Maybe too late, but call the front line docs quickly.
What Tazzurit says. Vitamin D3 10,000 IUs a day--not just a multivitamin. The sooner the better--if you don't have it now, someone go to the store and get it--it's that important.
"My 15 year old son has lost taste and smell"
Yep. He has a coronavirus, which are the class of viruses responsible for 40% of "common colds". Vit-D the shit out of it. Take three of those 10k softgels first thing.
I notice that the OP edited it to remove all of the text. It's just a title now.
I work for a vitamin company. I take about 5000 IU with 2+ hours of sun light daily. Most adults should be able to handle 5-10K IU. The FDA recommended levels for most vitamins are way too low.
Who is this Tazzurit? Dr. Oz recommends about 1/10 that amount...
I’d like to read up on this high amount.
Thanks
He was the first poster in the comment thread—named all the vitamins. Dr. Oz is not an expert on vitamins and just how deficient most people in the US are. Even Fauci admits he takes 9000 a day. I take 10000 a day throughout the winter (probably 4times a week total) and don’t during the summer.
A firefighter, EMT and dialysis nurse, but I didn't give a recommended amount
Okmthanks

This was a good source I found and saved.
Also, I had read years ago about 10,000 units Vitamin D when sick. Unfortunately I didn’t save that one!
Thanks!

If you answer yes and you have not gotten results back yet, you must wait until results are known.
If you answer no, they let you in.
That doesn't make sense.
Is it something about the test?
Hopefully it's flawed logic similar to not requiring deaf people to wear masks because they read lips but that does seem "odd".
Kickbacks.
Woosh! :)
Nothing you accuse me of is contained in my post.
Please slow down and re-read.
Thank you.
Woosh again :)
When are you going to realize you have been replying to the wrong person all along?
Woosh! :)
Sending prayers to you and yours. Hope everyone gets well soon.
I didn't indicate there was. Wishing them to get well soon is just that. Get over yourself.
Vit D. And ivermectin early..or hydroxy. Ivermectin highly recommended. Also zinc
This!
Just to let you know, loss of taste and smell is a common symptom of oral thrush. Which is highly contagious.
Zinc supplementation may help with bringing back sense of taste, smell.

So I would stay away . Not a good trade off IMHO to lose sense of smell.

I agree. Sad.
Someone I know said that many people think that fresh cilantro tastes like soap . My neighbor is like that. It all tastes like soap.
My son has never had taste or smell. He says eating is a chore.

He got out of breath playing basketball with the boys.
Did anybody else miss this?.
This is a real man! He’s going to be fine!
Yes, I encouraged him to stay active. However, I have never seen him lose his breath like that. He was a basketball coach for years.
Every single time I’ve had a cold I lost my sense of smell and taste too. What exactly were they testing for? Any coronavirus? Because they are common.

No, we don’t take them either.
